Chapter 11
“Where did you steal this from?”Nicolas was so appalled by the question that he took a step back.“What do you mean?" "What I mean,” the cashier jabbed his fingers on the counter just beside the card, “is that, how were you able to get this card? Who did you steal it from?”"I didn't steal the card," Nicolas responded with a deep frown. “I didn't steal anything. It's mine.”“Then it's a fake,” he sneered. "How dare you replicate this? You know that's a big crime, don't you? It could get you in jail." "How dare you!” Nicolas shot back, infuriated. "How dare you baselessly accuse me. You didn't even try the card yet you have the audacity to announce it as a fake and tag me a criminal.”“I also have the audacity to call the security and drag your poor ass out of here." He snorted. “Did you even look in the mirror before you stepped out of whatever she'd you live in to act out your ill plan?” He made a gagging sound. "Did you smell yourself?” He covered his nose and shook his head. “Pl
CHAPTER 12
CHAPTER 12He hurried out into the main street, grabbing a taxi immediately. Nora was still on the other line.“This super summit. Tell me about it?”“I will be frank. There is nothing legal about this summit. The Balford family and their associates will gather for the first time since your father left. You see,” she paused for a moment, the sound of a bed creak, echoed through the phone then footsteps. The next he heard was the splash of water.Unconsciously, his mind wandered to the imagination of what she would look like underwater with so little on and petals floating above her porcelain skin.He cleared his throat, drawing himself out of that lewd reverie.‘You are not that kind of man, Nicholas.’“Nicholas, are you still there?” she asked, her voice still held that formal but gentle tone.“Yes, keep going.”“The super summit was first made to be sort of like that one time gathering where everyone gives an account of what they have done for the year. By everyone I mean, Syndicate
CHAPTER 13
CHAPTER 13“She just fainted. I have no idea why. Everyone clear out and give her some air.” Said the shy intern. He was carrying Sarah. He placed her on the couch at the reception and stood over her. Worry laced his face.Sarah slowly regained consciousness. Her eyes opened. The first face she saw was his. Sarah shrieked, springing up from the couch and running as fast as she could to a corner in the reception. She took off her heel and pointed it at the shy new intern.“Stay away from me, Nicholas. How dare you come back as a ghost? You think you can haunt me? I will never let you do that.”The new Intern stared at her, too surprised to say a word. The other interns were sneaking pictures while the drama was on.“Mam, are you feeling alright? I’m not Nicholas. My name is Michael Gregorio.” The intern innocently told her.“You may have every one fooled but you can’t have me fooled. If you dare come close to me I will kill you again if I have to.”Everyone gasped. The reception filled

Nicholas slowed down as he got deeper into the mall. From the outside it seemed quite simple but here, has an entirely different story to tell. The stalls were all glam, decorated with lights and designs that made it artistically exotic. Under the florescence, the clothes glimmered and shined, looking worth exactly the amount on their price tags.He couldn’t help but stare except he did it in a civilized way. There were small stalls and lower-end clothes but the high-ends were everywhere. He felt the black card in his pocket. Well, it wouldn’t hurt to pick something nice before he went fishing for clothes that made him look like an intern. He walked into the fifth stall on his left paying no mind to the name written on a plaque on the top of the stall. The door announced his entrance. “Welcome, I hope you have a lovely shopping experience.”Nicholas smiled proudly. First time in the store of your dreams, left a giddy feeling in his gut. He tried to control himself, navigating through t
CHAPTER 15
Alex leaned back on his comfy chair, rocking it back and forth while he listened to yet another report about the unprogressive state of Silvercrest tower. He let out a deep sigh when they were all finally done and then, he opened his eyes.“You know, I should have all of you fired. I mean, what good are you if you can’t get anything right.”They pressed their lips and lowered their eyes. Alex hissed. They don’t even have the balls to look him in the eye.“You are dismissed, all of you. If by next week, none of you can get me better reports then don’t bother coming. Just use the door and don’t come back, understood?.”“Yes Sir.” They murmured, walking off like little mice heading to a slaughter. Alex leaned back, massaging his nose bridge, that’s when he heard a creek at the door. He glanced forward, spotting someone partially concealed by the entrance and contemplating on whether or not to come in. He recognized those shoulders and that grey suit jacket anywhere. He frowned. Only God
CHAPTER 16
Nora looked away, crossing her legs.“So, where to?”“We are going to pay the first guest in our little gathering a visit. Remember we haven’t told him where the rendezvous is.”“A simple mail would have done the trick, why are you making personal trips? Isn’t that dangerous?” she questioned but not a hint in her voice showed she thought there was cause to be afraid.“I’m going because it’s dangerous. I need to let them see that I’m not afraid of them or if anything. It’s a risk I’m willing to take.”Nora’s lips tugged up a little smile. She seemed slightly amused by something.“I didn’t think that even in a time like this I would still be able to humor anyone.”“Young master, humor is not one of your strong traits.” She said bluntly. “Anyways, I am just amused by how a man with no knowledge of weapons and no defense skills whatsoever, is still so eager to go on missions that need all these ingredients before survival is guaranteed. I really wonder how you intend to supplement their ab

Nora has never been wrong. Now it was no different. What they went looking for in Minister Street was his daughter. Once they got to the precious little quadriplegic gem he thought that the world had no knowledge of, he agreed to all their demands in seconds.Nora and Nicholas sat in the car, ticking out each guest they had met off the list. She put the tablet back on his lap, to show him what she had done.“How do you intend we go after these remaining Six”“Nora.” he started, looking at her softly. “Silvercrest tower has eight directors and out of this eight, I found that only five of them control power. The others will be swept with the tide so far that it’s heavy enough. I have no intention of bringing a tide though. I am coming with a mighty storm flood and whoever refuses to paddle to the flow of the water, will drown.”Nora rested her back on the taxi seat, staring out the window.“I must say, you are quite the fast learner. How you seem to have so much figured out marvels me, Y

He cocked the gun.“Harris, right? Let’s all sit and continue talking. There really isn't any need for any bleeding drama. I, personally, am a big fan of it but I don’t think our audience is. There was a short pause and then,Dante Harris began to laugh.“Oh young man. It’s not me, Dante, that you can scare with that thing.” He looked at Nicholas. “That is of course if you have used it before.”Nicholas’ eyes widened. He hid his astonishment immediately.“Try me and you will see. Don’t though, there really is nothing artistic about dying a wasted death.” Nicholas said it just so Dante can remember, in case he forgot.Dante glared at him from the corner of his eyes and then looked away. He continued his trip to the door. Nicholas’ expression decayed into a deep frown, dead in his eyes. Alex, Sarah, Dante Harris; they are all the same. They all think he can’t touch them. How foolish. From outside, a massive gun shot echoed into the party atmosphere and sank into the noise of the night li
CHAPTER 19
Alex scanned the room and every single person in it. He still couldn’t believe it. Everything happening right now is just too crazy to be real.“Okay. This is a joke right? You can’t fire me, I’m the manager. The only person who can fire me is the CEO and he is not here. Even if he was, he would have to get the whole board to sign on it before it happens.”Nicholas began to chuckle, devilishly. Alex kept a straight face, trying to pretend that laugh didn’t shrill him.Nicholas covered his lips a bit, wiping an imaginary tear off his eyes. “I’m so sorry, I know I shouldn’t be laughing at a time like this but I can’t help it. Your desperate ranting is so amusing. Oh dear Alex, you seem to have forgotten so soon that every man in the top tier of the Belford family is your CEO and every fool in this board of directors, works for them, and not you.”Nicholas got up, elegantly swaying towards Alex, the beautiful fur coat sweeping the ground and accentuating his sinister appearance.“Alex, A
CHAPTER 20
“Really.” She rested her head on one hand and crossed her legs. If Nicholas didn’t know any better he’d think she was being coquettish.“Why the sudden change of heart, young master?” Nora couldn’t help but ask. “I thought you were dreaded by even the slightest mention of your family manor.”“I never said that. I never meant that either.” Nicholas sat up. “The reason I turned your offer down back then was because I wasn’t… I wasn’t prepared. Like you said, I was a weakling. I didn’t want to go and meet people who will soon know me to be the Heir of the Belford family, when I have no exploit in my name. I didn’t want to look like some fool who accidentally stumbled into a gold mine he didn’t have to work for his whole life.”“You wanted to be worth their respect?” Nora asked. Nicholas nodded. She laughed a little and Nicholas frowned. She had been making fun of him a lot already.“I apologize if my reaction may have come out wrong but I couldn’t help it. No one in the Belford family wil
