Chapter 1. Rhok!
Rhok! That was his name for as long as he could remember, a vivid memory slid into his consciousness against his own will. But he was familiar with it already. His grueling past. Made an orphan by war and kidnapped to become a toy that could be replaced. Or so his seniors had thought. But he survived. He refused to die no matter what they had done to him. They had taken his emotions. His dreams. Aspirations and most importantly. His humanity and identity. His name was Rhok for as long as he could remember. It was the only name he had been called. And he was an Assassin. His eyes flew wide open and he tried his best to control his breathing. He felt beads of sweat drip to the sides of his face. He was drenched and exhausted. That dream always had that effect on him.He sat up on the bed and looked to his right. Laying beside him was a beautiful well curved woman and she was undressed.Rhok licked his lips. He had never forgotten why he was here. For business but he decided to take a l
Chapter 2. Traitors.
He looked at the dead body of the woman he had killed. Her body lay lifelessly as blood flowed from the bullet hole centered between her eyes. It was a gore scene. But not to Rhok.He has devoted his life to killing and slaughter. He couldn't even begin to count the number of people he had been sent out to kill. But it was his duty.To rid the world of vermins like her. But then again, who was he to judge who should live and who shoule die?He sighed as he got up. His body was drenched in sweat from the intensity of his make-out session with the dead woman. He didn't even remember her name. Not that it mattered. He walked away from the bed towards the bathroom. Her husband still lay in the bathtub filled with blood and slit throat. Rhok walked past him and entered the shower. He found the cold embrace of water quite calming. He didn't have to think. He didn't need to.Rhok had been sent to kill the couple. Whichever means he used was irrelevant as long as the mission was accomplished
Chapter 3. Afterlife?!
Rhok could feel nothing. He wasn't sure why he could, but he knew he wasn't dead. Not really. He also knew he wasn't alive. It was a weird sensation. Neither dead nor alive but conscious enough to know this. He flickered his eyes open and saw nothing.Well, this wasn't surprising to him. It's what he has always imagined death to be. A null endless void that would slowly eat at his soul, he would perish in loneliness for all eternity until his ran mad and slowly faded into nothingness.'So much for Heaven and Hell,' he thought. But he felt like doing something, he wasn't sure that he could, but floating around doing nothing didn't suit his persona. He righted himself up and stood. To his surprise, he was standing. He was still blind enough to not see anything. He rubbed his eyes furiously and blocked furiously, but nothing. There was no reflective surface or light to bounce off rays of light into his eyes, Thus his blindness. He took another step forward and was amazed at how firm the
Chapter 4. Rebirth.
Rhok did his best not to scream in pain and anguish as the muscles of his supposed mother's vagina squished him and pushed his brittle body out of her womb.He felt all sorts of wrong? What kind of joke was this?He usually dove into women. Not diving out of them. The shift in the air took him by surprise. Even though he would rather not cry, he found his toddler body unable to keep up with the change in environment.Rhok tried. He truly tried to stop himself from crying. It was completely unbecoming of a man. An Assassin must never break and show their true feelings.“Waaaaahhhh”Rhok let out a long cry against his very nature. He cursed at himself. The more he tried to hold it in. The more his cries came pouring out.'Abominable! Disgraceful!' He thought to himself.“He's alive, San! He's alive” a young maiden carried him up and cleaned the blood all over his body. She also clipped at his novel and cleaned the wound.“My… son…" Rhok, despite his cries, could see his mother. She loo
Chapter 5. Lousy System.
Ten years later.Rhok stood in front of a well, gradually he pulled water from the well. Behind him were shouts of training.“Harder!”“Faster!”“More precision. Lower your body and maintain defenses”The other bastards of the Lord were training. Well, they weren't bastards, but Rhok preferred to call them by that.He gazed at them with deep violet eyes and instantly saw their weaknesses. He scoffed a little and turned his attention back to the well.He wasn't allowed to train. His mother, San was a maid. A servant of the Vale family and as such she had no noble blood. The others, on the other hand, had mothers who came from prestigious families. He glanced at the other bastards once more, his eyes met with one who sat in the ground. A girl.He couldn't quite remember her name, but he knew she was less of a bastard than the rest were. In the house of Vale. Only swordsmen were made. It was the only skill that was given preference above all. And the girl who locked eyes with him had n
Chapter 6. Busted.
He couldn't be stopped by anything, he felt free at the moment. He could feel the wind brushing against his face, whistling past him as he ran at incredible speeds, nearly impossible for someone of his age.Because he had a mana core.Formed very early by the help of the system. To be honest, it had been a glitch. The stupid system was supposed to allow his premature body to grow to a certain limit before pumping him with power.Worst of all, the system hadn't told him how to manage his mana or control it. He had to learn that all on his own. He pushed those thoughts aside.[TARGETS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY.][DON'T GET LOST.]'Bastard.' Rhok cursed. He really wished his could rid himself of the system.Rhok avoided lighted places more because they opposed his attribute but not in the sense that you might think. If anything bright places gave him more of an edge. The brighter the light, the deeper the strength of his shadows, but there were obvious limitations. He didn't want to be spotted
Chapter 7. Orge's Cave.
In the depths of the cave. Monsters, goblins, and Ogre's alike stumbled about confused. Something moved among them, reaping their lives as though it meant nothing. The thing that haunted them couldn't be seen. Heard. Or felt.It was an unknown, a force they had never had the chance to reckon or understand. Although these monsters had a lick of intelligence, it was barely enough for them to comprehend what was happening about them. And as such, they did what any feral beast would. They ran in confusion.Rhok smiled as he slid out of a small crevice in the wall. He materialized himself and let out a puff of breath. He could see his perspiration. It was damn cold in the cave. Or maybe it was just this section, but he couldn't be too sure. He was running out of time.Rhok spread his senses outward as he had done above the chasm. He needed to know the layout of the cave if he were to kill each and every one of them.He couldn't risk getting Diarrhea. Somehow that scared him more than Mana
Chapter 8. First Blood.
Before the naked goblins could sense him while they mated with their naked prisoners, Rhok flew into their midst in the blink of an eye.He swirled about slicing the head of one of the goblins and melted into the shadows, before the goblin fell, he appeared again stabbing his daggers into the skull of another. The goblins stood up in a panic, shouting among themselves, looking around them, searching for their killer, but it was useless.Rhok was enraged. He shot out of another's shadow, slicing off both its hands and stabbing its neck from behind.'Three down. Three to go.'He moved with a careful precision which he had learned back in his days as an assassin. The training he was dealt with, the survival programs, his instincts.Everything kicked in.The goblins stopped him and shouted in a tongue known only to them. One screamed at Rhok and had a dagger slammed into its mouth.'Two to go.'One tried grabbing him from behind to crush him.“Disgusting” Rhok mouthed as he melted into th
Chapter 9. Lucky Card.
Its death was instant. As the light faded from the eyes of the Ogre chief, it seemed as though something stirred within the minds of the other monsters at the cave.As though they felt his death, but were pleased by it.The goblins began moving in different directions, without form or an inclination as to wherever they were. They looked confused. And then it clicked to Rhok. It was mind control. He had killed the Chief, freeing them all from the hex he had put them under.[CONGRATULATIONS][YOU HAVE SLAIN THE OGRE CHIEF]'Huh?'[NEW ATTRIBUTE ACQUIRED][ASSIMILATION]'Wait wait, what's going on?'[ASSIMILATION ALLOWS YOU TO PICK A RANDOM SKILL OF THOSE YOU HAVE SLAIN.][WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRY IT?]Rhok looked at the system while he hid in the shadows, he was out of mana, weak, drenched in his sweat and had no way of escaping.'Yes, damn it.' He cursed.[ACQUIRING SKILL…][MIND CONTROL. ACQUIRED.][SKILL ALLOWS YOU TO CONTROL THE MINDS OF ANYONE YOU'RE STRONGER THAN. RESISTANCE IS FUTIL
Chapter 10. Domain.
As he watched carefully as the Ogre's and Goblins all escorted the humans out from the cave, they really couldn't believe that the monsters that had once eaten them were the ones letting them go.Rhok, of course, didn't let them see him, but he watched them. The day was growing dimmer, but that never posed as a problem to Rhok The night was his domain. The only concern was his Aunt Fey.He sighed and looked away from the now free prisoners. He hoped they were too shaken to remember the exact location of where they had been held.He still needed to do some more investigations. He walked back to the false wall he had seen earlier, it seemed hollow, as though it was recently built by the monsters he had subjugated. He rapped his knuckles against the wall, indeed it was hollow. He didn't feel the need to use his mana to break it down, rather he called another ogre who stood idly yonder to his left.“You, come here…” Rhok said. The ogre scratched its head but obeyed and came over.“Smash
