Level 20(Purgatory)
Darkness. Nothing but darkness existed around. Deep, thick darkness that circled the entire space seeable by one swallowed in it. David floated in the centre of it, his eyes shut and his arms clasped tight to his body. He had his legs crouched and glued to his body too. He was wrapped like a foetus in a womb, being the only visible thing in the darkness. He suddenly began to twitch. He began to fidget. He tilted his head in one direction then another, he was having a nightmare. "Wake up." A voice kept resounding in his head and he felt pain. His heart raced fast as if he was in an high octane race. This had gone on like forever and he couldn't help it anymore. "Leave me alone." He yelled and a shockwave emitted from him, traversing the void he existed in. He freed his limbs and his naked body began to drop slowly. As his feet felt the substance of a base or floor, his eyes opened and was welcomed to nothing but darkness. He didn't say anything. He only reminisced on how he had jus

Ares stood gallant, squeezing his right palm. He had drawn Meena close telekinetically, choking her strongly in the air. The beasts were also in the air, grasping for breath. "You are all pathetic." He spoke, squeezing tighter. He hurled Meena to the ground, then threw the Bison beast sideways. He lifted Tigra higher then dropped her to the floor. The serpent beasts weren't also spared, crashing into the scorching red earth. He laughed maniacally, yelling."Stand. I dare you!""You say they are pathetic yet here you are, gloating in your victory over unconscious opponents." Colleen's voice sounded from behind him. He rapidly turned, surprised. His surprise heightened by the sight of her, gripping her weapon tightly. "How are you alive? I specifically killed you." He questioned. She chuckled, spitting sideways. "Maybe you should confirm your kills henceforth." She replied, then stepped forward. "Oh. Just to be clear, I was your last kill." She added, and pounced at him. He tried to
The Siege
David sat on the porch of Gandu's house, smoking a large, tobacco cigar. Seated opposite of him was Gandu who also did the same thing and had a sad look on his face. Both men had smoked in silence for hours, watching the sun rise. David still feeling the high octane showdown he just had with The Dark one, and Gandu feeling the tragic loss of his dearest friend. Well, he also felt joy to a degree. He finally had freedom, and his friend knew peace for the first time since he knew him. He dropped the already smoked cigar, picking another to light. In that moment, footsteps sounded from inside, which caught both men's attention, especially David's. He rose, his gaze meeting Colleen's. She glanced at Gandu, hissed, then rapidly walked up to the former. "Why is he here?" She questioned. "Calm down." He responded, holding her shoulders. She wrestled off his grip and turned away from him. "He fucking betrayed us, he helped Conrad use us, almost killing us." She protested. "I know, but h
We have been betrayed.
"I still think Gandu's story isn't adding up." Dana whispered into Meena's ears as they headed for Ladus. It was merely a six hour journey and they took their time. They were close to home. "I don't know. He has a thing where he can't leave his opppressor because he's attached to him. If I could have a word for it, I'll give him that, but he looks genuine this time." She replied. "You're just nice. Hey big guy, you get my point?" She spoke, addressing Eden. "I don't know Dana, I'll have to go with everyone on this too." He replied. "You big old softies." She groaned and pushed forward. "I should go home one of these days." Meena spoke. "Me too." Eder responded. "Is home really home, though?" His twin asked. "I guess." Then there was silence from the trio. "Abilities: Flight, time travel, Necromancy, Teleportation, spatial dark beams."The system read. David chuckled, this was the first time he was checking out his abilities menu, considering he only had to help his friends t
Queen Zelda's Plan
NOT SO LONG AGO, ESMERALDA.This event occured the night after David and his friends had saved Esmeralda from the spirit and the soul eaters. Queen Zelda, dressed in a flowing red robe got out of her bed. She had a red vial tied to her neck, one that contained liquid which its only air bubble tilted as she moved. She went to the door, slid the message hole opened and peeped, seeing only her guard was beside the door. She turned away from the door, sliding the hole back shut. She walked to her wardrobe and opened it, the towering wooden compartment of clothes creaking as the door opened. "Your highness." The guard spoke, leaning on the door, prepared to take on anyone or thing affecting his Queen. "It is no problem, it's just the wardrobe. Return to your duty." She dismissed him. He obliged, moving away from the door to his regular position. She placed her arms between the racks of hung clothes and pushed them apart, revealing a short, circular door knob. She placed her right palm o
You get to see another day.
Barely a month later, Queen Zelda had transformed her kingdom with the help of her goddess, turning it into a dark, strong army ready to die for the cause of the Kingdom. The citizens weren't spared at all, as they all seemed to ravish the idea of worshiping their new Queen. In those few weeks, she had undergone different rituals, the most significant one making her soldiers obedient and immortal… thanks to David's blood. All of these had happened in the absence of Zeddicus, the leader of the Royal Guard who had left the Kingdom briefly for a recon of Ladus. Even when he returned, meeting the new changes made to the Kingdom's crest, he paid little attention to the behavioural pattern of his people while being solely interested in his request for dismissal from the Royal guard, seeking his retirement to Ladus to settle down. A request she willingly granted, as she feared his prolonged presence would ruin things. He had been through enough hell and would be able to resist whatever co
You're All Cowards!
"I find it difficult to say this, but it's the truth. We have been betrayed by Esmeralda." Zeddicus spoke. "The fuck do you mean by that?" David questioned, rising from the bedside. "I don't know. I'm just seeing this right now!" Zeddicus responded."You know I told your Queen that if she ever fucked with me, I'll kill her. This is where the killing starts." He stated, his gaze deadly and emotionless. "I was there that day. Do you think I'll willingly cross you? The one who killed the god of war. The one who fought a fucking Dragon and managed to hurt it? I swear I had no idea she was planning any of this. All I know is that I returned to Esmeralda just to retire and settle down here. Hell, I didn't notice the rebranded crest until you just showed it to me today." The injured Knight explained. David wanted to utter another word but Colleen held him, pacifying him. "Did you kill those attackers we found?" Meena asked. Zeddicus nodded and she mouthed an inaudible "thank you." "Okay
Maybe it is, Maybe it's not.
"Welcome child. I hope the guards haven't treated you unkindly." Zelda spoke, emerging from a door. Audrey was seated in a room which was heavily guarded at the door. She frowned upon sighting the Queen, holding nothing but contempt for her. "Can you not speak?" Zelda asked, realising she didn't answer her question. Audrey sighed and rubbed her palms along her thighs. "I can speak, I don't just want to." She responded. "I see we are angry here." Zelda giggled and settled before the child. "See, child. I am not your enemy. In fact, your father and I are friends." She spoke."My father is dead." The child replied bluntly. Zelda groaned, frustrated by her confidence and directness."You know who I speak of. You are just like him, so direct and rude." She spoke, rising. "Why am I here? To lure David into a trap?" Audrey asked. She crouched before the child once more and flashes a fake smile towards her. "Let's say that is true. Will he come here for you?" She asked. The girl chuckle
So…the plan is quite simple
"I'm sorry I couldn't protect her David, please let me just go with you." Doctor Enitan pleaded. "No. You did what you could do. Thank you for that." He placed a palm on her shoulder, an appreciative look on his face. He turned towards the building as people trudged outside, all heading back to the town. They had a few knights who survived and had stayed with the other townspeople in the two other rendezvous points. "These people, they need you. Ladus needs you. You stood up to those bastards when everybody feared the worst. If you left them alongside me, they'll lose all hope and be defeated even before an attack." He spoke. She nodded. Subconsciously, she agreed with him. She wasn't much of a fighter, rather a healer and she knew the people of Ladus needed her more at the moment. There were hundreds of sick people who were sick before the attack and had survived. She also knew there were those injured during the attack and they would need her. She couldn't leave them to her nurses
You lost. I beat you.
They all emerged from the portal, their minds still dazed from the total darkness they were in for almost an hour. "Thank the gods. I'm definitely not entering that thing again." Eder groaned, falling out of it. While the rest complained and ranted, David and Colleen stood away from each other, watching the environment. They both had their conflicting thoughts.Colleen on her part thought about how hard she had been on Gandu then David. She understood he was a victim, she really did. However she also knew Conrad had had people do the worst of things on his behalf, she was a living testimony. She figured she would apologise to both of them later. The mission was still the priority. She also figured David was hiding something from her since they resurrected from Purgatory. Maybe it seriously concerned her and he wanted to keep her safe or away from it. Either way she felt he didn't have to carry that responsibility, she could handle her own business too. "I'll talk to him." She conclu
