_March 25th, 2030_It was the early hours of a radiant morning, and the only light illuminating the tiny room William inhabited was the brilliant sunlight streaming through his window and the small holes punctuating the wall of his room.Aside from the worn‐out foam on which William presently slept, there stood a small cupboard with a chair positioned beside it, he habitually repurposed the cupboard as a makeshift table whenever the need arose. There was also a small bag containing the few clothes he possessed, a plastic bucket, and a small waste basket near the door, where he kept his trash. With but a single glance, one could immediately discern just how miserable William's living conditions were. He was the proverbial church rat, existing at the very lowest echelon of humanity.RING... RINGHis phone, resting atop the cupboard, vibrated as the blaring sound of the alarm reverberated throughout the tiny room."Ahhhh!"William awoke with a frustrated shout as he swiftly reached out t

It was midday at Riverland High School, at the back of one of the lonely buildings, and five students were seen throwing heavy punches and delivering sharp, lethal kicks to William, who lay on the ground helplessly, enduring the immense pain from the brutal beating.William was on his way to the library to spend his lunchtime peacefully as he did every other day when the short, contentious student he had an altercation with in the morning arrived with a group of guys to drag him away violently to the quiet corner. While William tried to put up a fight, he was no match for the combined strength of the five, and he was immediately sent crashing to the ground, forced to endure their relentless assault.THWACKThe one he had clashed with earlier—known among the others as young master Leo—landed a precise kick to William’s stomach, causing him to flinch and groan in sharp anguish.“Where’s all your cool now? Huh? Where’s that pathetic confidence of yours? Answer me!” Leo barked as he unlea

"Is this heaven?" was William's initial thought as he found himself standing in an extremely bizarre and hard-to-describe environment.White! Pure white! remained the only colour he could see in this strange place. Even when he glanced down at his own body, it appeared to be completely enveloped in pure, cloudy white matter. The size of this place was unknown. It felt simultaneously like a small room and an endless dimension at the same time. Merely attempting to comprehend the physics caused his head to ache profusely."Where am I?"The more time passed, the deeper his confusion became. The last thing he could recall was the humiliating beating he had received from those spoilt goonies. Strangely enough, he felt no trace of pain whatsoever, which in turn somewhat confirmed his initial thoughts that he had somehow made it to heaven."Is this truly heaven? Or am I ensnared within a dream or something of that sort?"He had no answer for that. At this point, nothing made any sense.[ Wel

It was in the middle of a forest, covered by the lightless veil of the night, when a small encampment could be seen, comprising several small tents and a bigger royal tent.A few meters away from the encampment, a small group of men wearing medieval costumes could be seen encircling William, who was dressed in a modern school uniform that made him remarkably distinct."Welcome to our world, hero."The old wizard greeted William with a calm, knowing smile after he had finished casting the spell on him.William simply stood and stared at the wizard for an unknown amount of time, his puzzled expression reflecting his inner turmoil as his mind attempted to process what had just occurred.'Magic exists in this world? Who would've thought that I would have the opportunity to experience true spell casting once in my miserable life.'William was naturally thrilled — as someone from a world where magic was regarded as nothing more than mere wishes, experiencing it was entirely unexplainable. The faint glow of the moon descended upon the chaos brewing around the encampment. The soldiers could be seen spread out in a defensive formation in front of the encampment. Geared in steel armor and clutching their swords, they were prepared for battle.Further away from them, emerging from the woods, were corrupted humans numbering up to almost a hundred, letting out low and horrifying bestial growls as they approached the frightened soldiers. The sheer appearance of these creatures caught the attention of William, sending thrills of horror drifting through his body as he observed them more closely. The corrupted humans had the same height and body structure as normal humans. But they differed in many horrifying ways. They had very pale green skin, reminding William of zombies in movies. However, unlike slow, staggering zombies, these corrupted humans were pretty fast. They also had glowing red eyes that shone with evil and bloodlust. William could not help but shiver upon meeting t

The funeral ritual lasted for about four hours, the tradition of the soldiers required them to stand and watch their comrades burn until there was nothing left except ash. There were just a few hours left before morning when the funeral finally concluded. Everyone retired to their tents to rest and prepare for their journey towards the dark island. King Julian instructed them to get as much rest as they could over the next four hours to mentally and physically prepare themselves for the arduous journey ahead. Before leaving for his own tent, he did not forget to personally display his gratitude to William for his help. “Without your help, more of my soldiers would've lost their lives to those abnormalities. Thank you, William.” William responded with a smile and nod, then shook his hand before both of them retired to their tents. Reaching his tent, William summoned his character status to check his new stats. ------------- Name - William Ashworth HP -97% MP - N/A ( Unlock m

DARKWOOD FORESTIt was the late hours of the morning, the sun hanging in the sky had already begun bathing the earth with its bright and fairly scorching illumination.William and the Muzez Kingdom's crew could be seen journeying on horses through a lonely path leading to the exit of the darkwood forest.Theobald and Williamrode beside each other in front of the crew, both mounting agile white horses. Behind them were other soldiers riding on black horses.King Julian and Osborne were in the carriage at the middle of the crew, and there were other soldiers riding behind them, keeping watch.More than three hours had passed since they began their journey. The journey so far had been peaceful compared to what they had expected, there were no attacks from wild beasts, and no bandit group had stepped up to sabotage them. This was very unlike the previous days, when they got attacked almost every hour of their journey. Some of the soldiers even began to speculate that the presence of the g
