Theobald’s war cry cracked through the air like a starting pistol—sharp, clear, and sending everyone charging forward.HOWL!The horned wolves sprang into action right away and began descending towards the cornered crew with an intention to slaughter."Yaaaa!!"The soldiers let out a thundering war cry, their eyes shining with readiness and their feet moving dauntlessly. The small distance between the crew and the wild beasts closed in an instant.CLANG!CLING!The sounds of metal colliding against sharp claws rang out almost immediately.HOWL!One of the horned wolves charged furiously toward William, its red eyes glowing with clear bloodlust.Letting out a sharp howl, it lifted its forelimb furiously, revealing its sharp claws and immediately swung at the hero at lightning speed. But the hero easily blocked its lightning-fast strike with his sword, as though it were a punch from an average human child.William pushed back the claws with his sword. A surge of adrenaline rushed throug

The scorching heat of the afternoon sun bathed the darkwood forest where the crew could still be seen battling against the pack of horned wolves.About an hour had passed, and the battle’s chaos only intensified.Corpses of both soldiers and wild beasts carpeted the chaotic battlefield. Cries of anguish and bestial cries of anger and frustration mixed with the constant clangor of sword against claws blasted across the place continuously. The crew were still cornered, the horse and carriage remained in the middle of the chaotic gathering. The horse neighed continuously from fright. The carriage stood gallantly, surrounded by soldiers desperately fending off horned wolves. The population of the crew had reduced drastically after the death of a couple of soldiers. The remaining few struggled with all their might, with a single aim to come out of the battle alive.Only the captain and the hero stood out, charging forward without a hint of fear.“There are just a few of them left, we can s

It was late evening; the scorching afternoon sun had slipped below the horizon, leaving the sky a soft wash of violet and indigo. The crew could be seen stalling at the end of the darkwood forest, observing the visage of the feared bridge of the south. King Julian and Osborne stepped down from the carriage to observe the bridge as well. From their position, they could only see the beginning of the feared bridge as it was covered in a faint crimson fog that made it impossible to see past a small distance. There was a lot of this faint crimson fog, it consumed the entirety of the bridge and the area surrounding it, cloaking both the structure and the mysteries that lie beyond the bridge.GULP!Members of the crew became nervous at the sight of the natural mystery. They became really concerned about their survival.Would they even make it past the bridge? What kind of abnormalities would they meet while crossing? If there were any abnormalities, would they even be able to defeat them?Nu

None of them could hide their curiosity as they waited on the hero’s reply—they wondered what sort of sophisticated method the hero was going to employ. But it was quite the opposite of what they expected.“We should not step onto the bridge until tomorrow morning. In the meantime, we should come up with ways to make nose masks to shield our noses from inhaling the everlasting crimson fog.”William responded, causing silence to prevail over the gathering for a short while.“At night, the chances of us facing corrupted humans are really high. Corrupted humans are basically corpses—they cannot be affected by the hallucinogenic content of the crimson fog. Since they only attack at night, we should go by morning.”William explained. The eyes of the crew brightened in realization.“I can’t promise these masks will block all the crimson fog, but some protection is better than none.”Silence continued for a few seconds after he was done explaining, as the crew began to realize how effective

A headcount was conducted before the crew proceeded into the mysterious landmark. Their population totaled only 33, a solemn contrast to the hundred-plus at the beginning of the journey. While the population had dwindled drastically, the crew did not lose sight of their mission. Hope still blossomed amongst them in the fight against the dark side.A tense hush settled over the crew, broken only by the soft rustle of cloth and the distant ominous sound emerging from the cavity of the bridge. The morning sun was still fresh and bright. At the moment, the crew could be seen strolling towards the bridge, only a few minutes away. They all had their makeshift nose masks wrapped around their nose and mouth, revealing only their determined eyes, which stared at the path ahead with varying glints. At the front, the hero, the captain and the wizard strolled together, bravely. The king followed right behind them, escorted by the remainder of the crew.Three minutes later, the crew were now stand

“What the heck!”Once the hero’s eyes fell on the source of the scream, his face twisted in a frown, and he let out a harsh gasp.Behold, standing just a few inches away from him was a young soldier standing upright with his back facing the hero. The pants of this soldier were down and from the movement of his body, especially his left hand, one could easily tell what sort of disgusting activities he was involved in.The soldier’s head arched backward, revealing eyes rolled up in pleasure as he lost control to sensation below. His nose mask shifted repeatedly as muffled moans softly escaped.William stood and observed the weird activities for a few seconds. Even though he made several small movement sounds, the soldier heard none of those brief, faint shifts, completely immersed in beating his meat.'The fuck am I looking at? He is stroking it in the middle of a fucking bridge!'William could not believe his eyes. Even in his wildest dream, such a revolting and surprising scene would

After losing two comrades to the everlasting crimson fog, the crew continued their journey silently and cautiously. The ominous crimson fog and a solemn atmosphere overshadowed the crew as they proceeded forward. The unnatural warmth as well as the frequent appearance of human corpses reminded the crew every second about its evil powers. It spread an unrelenting fear amongst everyone. At the front of the proceeding crew, William strolled closely beside the captain and the wizard, both walking at his sides. He could see the solemn expression on the face of the wizard as well as the vengeful glint in the eyes of the captain. The hero shook his head — he too could feel what those two felt. But what use was letting that feeling overshadow him? The everlasting crimson fog is nature, nature can't be killed.Silently and steadily, another three hours went by slowly since the death of the two soldiers.Over the past solemn three hours, there have been four more screams of pleasure and pain, d

Nighttime quickly arrived, the entire barren plain was engulfed in darkness, and a deafening silence spread across the vast plain, filling it with an ominous atmosphere. The crew’s encampment could be seen at a random location within the barren plain. The tents were set very far away from the feared Bridge of the South. At that moment, the remaining twenty-three members of the crew were sitting outside their tents. They gathered around the large campfire they had made, heating their dinner while discussing among themselves. The king and the wizard, who were usually in their tents at times like these, were present as well. King Julian could be seen laughing and talking with his soldiers as though he were sitting among friends. While the soldiers were aware of the king’s friendly nature, they had never had a chance to speak with him as they did now.Even the wizard, who was usually shut in his tent practicing magic and reading books, was talking with them, sharing stories about exciting

William hadn't even gotten the chance to understand why the rainbow-colored bird was singing at such a time when a loud commotion erupted outside. Screams of pain and terror thundered across the entire encampment, worrying the hero.DING-----URGENT QUESTOBJECTIVE: Protect the kingREWARD: 1000 EXPPENALTY: None-----‘What are we up against this time? Can’t someone have some time to rest in this godforsaken world?’William heaved a long sigh, opened his inventory and equipped his weapon before storming out of his tent.“Hero! We’re under attack!”William met a young soldier standing outside his tent. The soldier was shivering, as was evident in his hands that failed to hold his sword properly.William nodded his head and sprinted towards the centre of the commotion. The big campfire was still burning intensely, providing sharper illumination over the chaos than the moon hanging in the sky.Surrounding the big campfire were the crew members and countless abnormalities.Corrupted hum

More than one hour had drifted by since the invasion of the corrupted creatures. The campfire continued burning, illuminating the heated battle between the hero and the abnormalities. After observing the hero’s strength, the corrupted creatures let go of the other crew members and focused all their attention on him. However, despite their massive numbers, the hero still remained on top.His movements were graceful and lethal, a single sword strike could render a corrupted creature powerless or send it back to the hell from which it originated.“Angelic!”“He only gets stronger and stronger, never wearing out. What kind of man is he?”Talks erupted among the few crew members who remained. Even the captain was in awe— for more than twenty years, he had participated in battles with powerful warriors, but none of them could ever muster half of the prowess the hero was displaying currently. Most of those powerful warriors had decades of war experience, and a few were even renowned for ente
