51... Warning lights...
The hum of machines filling the room wasn't something new to both Jeremy and Heidi but it was something that made them feel new things most times. Jeremy narrowed his eyes at one of the machines. "I swear, Heidi, this tech is trying to scan my soul" He mumbled. Heidi didn't say anything to that. Apart from the light sounds from the systems, there was silence until Heidi laughed softly, breaking it. Jeremy looked at her, a little confused. "Why are you laughing?"She stopped for a second, and started again, her eyes showing amusement and the sound of her laughter holding something Jeremy was familiar with. "Are you laughing at me?" He asked. "Are you making fun of me right now?""Not really," She replied, her laughter slowing down. "But it's funny how you just swore that a tech is trying to scan your soul."Jeremy didn't laugh, he simply stared at the portable tab Heidi was holding, and in that moment, Heidi knew something was wrong. "Jeremy," She called slowly with a soft tone.
52... Blitzing, battle-ready...
In the training room, alongside Jeremy and Heidi, Alec saw an unfamiliar face, standing near the punching bag, wearing a gentle smile. Alec gave the unfamiliar man a long questioning look. He seemed friendly and youthful, yet old enough to be his father. The man assessed quickly Alec from head to toe "I guess you are the Alec that Heidi and Jeremy wouldn't stop talking about?" The man said with a bright grin. Alec gave his friends a questioning look and they shrugged, their eyes bigger and unblinking. "They talked about me? To you?" Alec had to ask to be sure. "Oh they did!" The man answered with a small laugh, then he frowned. Alec frowned back, looked back at his friends who stood grinning like they were watching a movie that should be rated ten over ten. "Who are you?" Alec asked the man, giving him a quick assessment. "You really don't know him?" Jeremy chimed in. Alec went quiet, then made a wild guess. "Prof Smith?" He asked, eyeing him. "I never knew I was popular!"
53... Controlled and Synced...
Alec, now appearing as The Blitz, made it to the scene in just a few minutes. He eyed the young looking man who was in the middle of the road, gripping his rod firmly. He also spotted the cops. Their intention was to stop Roddy no doubt with their guns drawn and aimed at him. "Told you guys...I'm unstoppable, and you still think your useless weapons can stop me?" Roddy shook his head in feigned sympathy. "You all are pathetic than I thought."With those words, he extended his rod and withug seconds, it sparked violently, crackling with raw electricity, making it impossible for anyone to go near him. "Ha! I am unstoppablllleeee!" Roddy roared, laughing maniacally. Alec took a few steps forward, his eyes catching several civilians and officers lying unconscious on the ground. "I hope the medics are en route," Alec said urgently through the wireless earpiece in his suit. "There are people down, and some need immediate medical help" He looked up for a closer look at Roddy. "This bast
54...My subconscious..
Alec had listened to Xander's explanation and he understood one thing. He now realized that only Roddy could use the rod. It was designed for him and only him. Alec gave the rod a bad look before throwing it far away. He knew the rod would still return back to Roddy but Alec needed to buy some time. The moment the rod vanished, Roddy sensed Alec's intention to settle this with his fists. With the human speed Roddy possessed, he threw a jab, but Alec swiftly evaded it.Reacting quickly, Roddy tapped his touchy band, inputting some codes to summon the rod back to his grasp in mere seconds."Fuck" Alec rasped when he saw the rod coming back to Roddy. He glanced between the rod and Roddy and quickly grabbed it at the same time Roddy did. "Xander" Alec called quietly with a strained voice. "How can the electric rod be destroyed?"Xander began to process the question, and after few seconds, it was ready to provide information. "Alec, I think you should just leave the rod, you know ho
55...Your real name?...
Alec stood straight, allowing the water to pour freely on him in the bathroom. In no time, his brain started to replay the events that happened during and after his fight with Roddy. Roddy's rod, being described as a powerful tool was something that needed to be thoroughly studied, but....was there even time for that? Can they truly know everything about the rod. How it was created? When? And by what inspiration exactly? That wasn't all on Ale's mind, Prof Smith's words were also ringing in Alec's head, and they bothered him. (But I've gotta admit that I'm curious about who Xander is.')Prof Smith is so smart that just one interaction with Alec, he was already having suspicions about Xander. "Who is Prof Smith himself?" He muttered, remembering his funny attitudes versus his calm attitudes. He was strange and undoubtedly intelligent. "Xander, do you think Prof Smith knows about you already?" Alec asked in a whisper. There was a beep. "That is uncertain at the moment, Alec."Ale
56...Rare mineral...
Alec surveyed the area, his eyes briefly taking in the people lying on the ground. They were unconscious and badly injured and that was a clear sign that Roddy had struck again with his electrifying rod. “Son of a bitch,” Alec cursed. With anger in his eyes, he watched as Roddy confidently walked away, the rod still in hand. He looked tall and powerful, his mask making him appear even more dangerous. But Alec’s face showed no fear. No matter how intimidating Roddy looked, he would face him and fight him. “He’s just a thief,” Alec whispered, jaw clenching. Though deep down, he knew Roddy was far more than that. He was a criminal. A greedy one. A maniac planning to take over the world. Alec stepped forward, standing boldly in Roddy’s path, his eyes were darkening with determination to complete his mission. “And where the hell do you think you’re going?” he demanded, his gaze locked on the black bag in Roddy’s hand. “Answer me!” His tone grew harder when his eyes caught the electr
57... Prime street...
Roddy stood beneath the flickering street lamppost, his eyes gleaming with anticipation as he fed his rod a surge of electricity. Maniacal laughter escaped his lips as sparks danced around the metallic device. With arms outstretched, he proclaimed, "I am powerful! Unstoppable!" Alec materialized before him, his expression stern as he shook his head. "No, Roddy. You're not powerful. You're insane." "Ah, the Blitz returns!" Roddy's laughter grew louder. "Twice in a day....how delightful!" Alec crossed his arms, shaking his head at the madness in front of him. "You’re in desperate need of medical attention." Roddy's laughter intensified. "By the time I’m done with you, it’ll be you seeking that medical attention." The rod crackled with electricity, and Alec knew Roddy was about to strike. He quickly dodged the attack, his agile movements saving him from harm. "Provocations, Alec! Provoke him and gain control!" Professor Smith's voice resonated in Alec’s earpiece. Alec lock
58...Codes...
Alec picked up the band from under his foot and examined it with furrowed brows."I'm not sure how to use this. I'm gonna need a little help handling it correctly," he frowned. "Xander? This is where you come in," he said, blinking at the band. "I need your help here."Roddy struggled to stand and snatch the band from Alec. He threw a punch, but Alec effortlessly dodged by tilting his head back, then struck Roddy on the head, sending him crashing to the ground."Hey, Alec, listen," Prof Smith spoke up. "Try to destroy that thing once and for all." He stretched out his arm in emphasis. "Even if you’ve managed to knock Roddy down, the rod can still be dangerous. Who knows? He might've programmed it to shock anyone who touches it at a specific time."Alec nodded in agreement, then focused mentally on Xander and asked in a mumble, "Xander, can I destroy the band without going back to that cave to find some kind of weird mineral?""Yes, you can," Xander replied calmly.Alec’s attention sha
59... Deactivate and disconnect...
Everyone at the H.E.P was in a frozen state. "Okay, where's Roddy now?" Prof. Smith asked, folding his arms across his chest. "Yeah, where's Roddy?" Jeremy asked, his eyes not moving away from the screen. Alec looked around the room, but he saw no one. He narrowed his eyes. "Oh, God, where's Roddy?" He repeated the question. Jeremy's face paled. "He left. He left the room a while ago" "Ah, I'm gonna kill the guy!" Alec muttered in frustration. He clenched the electrifying rod in one hand and held onto the band with the other. "Hey Xander," he gruffed. "I need to know where Roddy is, Give me some directions, ASAP"Xander responded in Alec's head, ...Tracking... Roddy is in one of the old storage rooms, sector 3. Be careful, Alec.A red dot blinked on the right side of the transparent screen, followed by a zigzag line. Alec followed the line, leading him to one of the old rooms in the huge building. As soon as Alec entered the room, he was unexpectedly struck with a heavy stick b
60...Got their powers...
Through the monitor, everyone could see Alec still lying on the ground. Jeremy tapped his jaw nervously. “Alec, get up,” he urged, hoping for a response. “Get up, man.” But there was no movement or reply. Alec remained completely still. The H.E.P fell into a heavy silence, everyone silently praying for some kind of miracle. “Alec?” Heidi’s voice trembled as she called out softly. “Alec, please, say something.” She twisted her lips in worry. “Please... talk to me, please,” she whispered, her voice cracking. There was a groan. “Okay…” Another groan. “I didn’t know you wanted me to talk to you that bad,” Alec’s gruff voice came through the earpiece, low and strained. “God, Alec…” Heidi placed a hand over her chest in relief. “You scared me!” Alec groaned in pain. “That electrifying shit was like hell. I couldn’t move or speak for a few seconds.” Professor Smith smiled with relief, while Jeremy rubbed his forehead, grinning from ear to ear. “If you scare us like that ag
