61...Conflicted and Unsure...
Heidi and Prof. Smith strolled into one of the training rooms for a little private chat."What is it, Prof?" Heidi asked suspiciously.Prof. Smith studied her for a moment, glanced back, then looked straight at her. "Heidi, I can tell you're falling for him."Heidi opened her mouth, shut it, opened it again, and finally said something. "Falling...""Yes," Prof. Smith said firmly."Falling for who?" she inquired."Come on, let's cut the act and have this conversation," Prof. Smith said, rolling his eyes. "You're falling for the new kid.""The new kid? Prof, I...""The superhuman, Heidi," Prof. Smith slid in.Heidi went mute."Heidi. You can't deny it," he said, his voice now gentle. She took in a deep, shaky breath. "Now you're gonna tell me to kill these feelings," She raised her dark lashes. "Aren't you?""I... uh... look," Prof. exhaled. "This guy isn't one of the normal guys out there, and you knew that from the start..."Heidi shut her eyes. "Prof...""He is a superhuman—""He is
62...My date...
The deep, dark voice instantly snapped Alec’s attention away.He turned, and what he saw made a frown crawl across his face.“What the hell?” he whispered, staring.A burly guy with an extra-large chest and a stern expression stood in an intimidating stance, glaring down at Alec. Alec’s frown stayed locked in place, his posture calm and unbothered. He scanned the man quickly, eyes studying every detail. He didn't know exactly why the guy was at the bar, but one thing was clear...he was here for Alec.“Hey, little boy,” the man growled.Jeremy raised a brow from where he stood. “Little boy... interesting.”“What do you think you’re doing with my date?” the man bellowed.Alec remained collected, gaze cool and slightly narrowed.“I said, what the hell are you doing with her, huh?” He gestured to Jenny. “My date!”“What?” Jeremy mumbled, confused.Alec shot Jenny a quick, questioning look, then turned back to the man. “If you’re talking about her...” He glanced at her again. “She’s my fri
63...A big problem...
"This is really bad."Jenny glanced at Alec in confusion, then looked back at the road. She has not seen the danger speeding towards them yet, so she couldn't understand what Alec was talking about, but she decided not at them, so she doesn't understand what Alec was talking about and she decided not question him. "Really, really bad" He whispered, his eyes straight on the huge, dangerous truck.Jenny glanced at him again, her brows furrowed, then focused back on the road. She still couldn't see the truck, not because she was blind or anything, but because she didn't have the same vision as Alec. Luckily, Jeremy was up ahead, so he had a clearer view and was able to catch sight of something coming forward. "What the hell?" He mumbled as he squinted for a second then his eyes widened."Fuck," he cursed under his breath, as the threat became visible. It was a bit distant but it was real. Very real....and definitely dangerous. He exhaled roughly and quickly slammed the car into re
64...The damn hero...
"This is a crazy night" Jeremy mumbled. Alec did not respond, but the way his eyes went over Jenny's destroyed vehicles, Drew and his friends behind them, and the truck said a lot about how he agreed with Jeremy. Yes, the truck was still there. It wasn't stopping. Even after it had turned Jenny's car into something unrecognizable and trashy, it growled, backed up slightly with a sharp hiss of rage and revved it's engine again. Alec's brows knitted together. "It's coming back again," Jenny's eyes went wide. "But that thing just turned my car into a fucking ugly scrap metal! Shouldn't it be satisfied?" "It's obviously not satisfied" Jeremy replied, but Alec didn't answer, his serious eyes locked on the beast of a vehicle. It had a mission, a mission that could take lives and it wasn't ready to stop. "Alec?" Jeremy's hands gripped the wheel tighter now. "We're running out of road, and we are not outrunning that....THING forever!" Alec didn't blink. "We're not runni
65... Blood's gonna spill...
Alec was still at the side of the truck, holding on with his superstrength. "Stop driving!" He hollered. "You got to stop this fucking truck! Dammit!"The driver glanced at his side, and even with the mask on, his eyes was able to meet with Alec's before he focused back on the road. Alec saw those dark eyes were hard and serious with determination. Stopping the guy won't be easy. Seconds later, the truck picked up speed, a raging speed that almost threw Alec off."Fuck this guy!" Alec breathed harshly, hanging on. With one hand holding on the truck, he used the other hand to punch through the window, shattering the glass into pieces. "Fuck off!" The driver cursed, turning the wheel, not caring if he smashed into another another vehicle or not. Alec stretched his arm and managed to grab him by the neck. "You have to stop this craziness now!"The driver jerked the wheel again, and Alec nearly lost his grip. He quickly released the driver and leapt up onto the roof of the truck.
66...Mission Instructions...
Alec remained the bad driver, but not the one who use that fact as an excuse to cause harm. The few minutes of conversation he had with Max Tate were still spinning in his head. "Why are you doing this?" Alec questioned, hands handling the steering wheels, eyes straight on the road and jaw clenching.Max's jaw tightened too, his eyes flickering with different things at the same time. Alec couldn't place them. Was it fear? Regret? Defiance? "You shouldn't be doing this at all" Alec said with a gentle voice, but his eyes? His tone? His driving? None of them were calm."Sometimes...." Max shrugged. "People do some things when you least expect it,""What's that supposed to mean?" Alec asked, his mind already forming plans....plans that might end in blood. Max smirked. "The people around you....they've got their own games."Alec caught something right there. That wasn't just some talk, it was Max giving something away. But what was it?"You were supposed to be on my side," Alec said q

The light clicked on, and Alec smirked as he scanned his old house. "You see, Max," Alec walked up to the young man sitting edgily on the old chair. "Just last week, I used to live here.""I know," Max said before he could stop himself. "Now you live in the Dale Wood mansion."Alec paused, then he chuckled. "Man, you talk a lot. I kinda like that." Max swallowed. "This ain't what you think it is.""Hm." Alec folded his arms across his chest. "Humour me.""I can't say a lot right now,"Alec looked amused. "Why not?" Max pressed his hands together. "I don't wanna die....""Oh, let me tell you something buddy..." Alec stepped closer and bent halfway forward. "If you don't spill the words, then one of us will be spilling the blood."For a full second, Max froze as his breathing stopped."Buddy," Alec stood straight. "When I bundled you into Jeremy's car and brought you here, what the hell did you think was gonna happen? Some sweet dinner and singing?" "You gotta let me go, Alec," Max
68...Max Tate...
Jeremy glanced at the back seat and smiled at Max."Jeremy...." Alec called with a warning tone. "Please don't do something stupid" he said through gritted teeth. Jeremy grinned. Alec seethed. "Don't even try....""Hey, man" Jeremy greeted Max. Alec uttered a guttural sound of disapproval. "How y'all feeling out here?" "Feelin' like shit" Max muttered."You know I'm a big fan of your accent." Jeremy said, his grin widening. "Wait...." His brows squeezed. "You're feeling like shit?""Please drive, Jeremy." Alec cut in. "But my man here just said he was feeling like shit...."Alec deadpanned him. And that's when Jeremy remembered."Oh my God, I'm supposed to be mad at him" He murmured, his eyes going wide. Alec and Jenny shook their heads at Jeremy's overly playful behavior. "Just drive, please" Alec said through clenched teeth, gesturing forward. Jeremy sat straight, his eyes on the steering wheel. "Where to?"Alec glanced at Max. He cleared his throat before uttering: "Big
69...Two in one...
Three men sat round a table in silence. Complete silence. Their hands were wrapped around their drinks as they all stared. One man staring at two.And those two staring back at him. "So you guys are twins." Alec blurted out. He was still in shock as this was the surprise he'd never imagined. Both guys nodded simultaneously. Alec's eyes darted from one brother to the other. "Okay. So, between you two..." He waved his fingers at them. "...Who is Max?""I'm Max." They said together. "I mean like Uhm..." Alec cleared his throat. "Max Tate...""I'm Max Tate." They chorused again. "Fuck—no, I meant the guy I've been talking to." "Me?" They pointed to themselves. Alec's jaw dropped for seconds."Wait, is this...are you doing this on purpose?""No." They answered together, deadpan.Alec breathed in deeply. "Okay...." His tone was slower this time as he was really trying not to snap. "So which of you is actually Max?" "I am" They replied. "I meant the one that drives a truck, dammi

During the car ride to Jeremy's place, Letty sneaked a glance at Alec. He was lounging in the backseat, his eyes closed, but definitely not asleep. She turned her gaze back to the windshield and thought briefly about what had happened in just a few hours. Everything all in a night.Delight Bar. Drew and his friends. The truck issue. The secret interrogation of the Max guy. Everything was crazy. For her, it was too much for a night. She directed her face to the guy at the backseat—Alec. He was there in the same relaxed posture. Same closed eyes too. An expression crossed Letty's face. Something that looked like pain for a second, and looked like guilt the next second. It was almost unnoticeable but it appeared on her face. She gazed away from Alec and stared at the road, her fingers twiddling in her lap as Jeremy drove in silence.Moments later, they pulled into Jeremy's driveway."Thank goodness," Letty exhaled as she stepped out of the car. Alec watched her turn and head stra
