CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE “My name is Shane. I am the bone reaper!” The midget said, growling at Adrian. For over five seconds, he searched for nervousness in Adrian’s eyes, but he could only see recognition.Adrian held onto his wry smile, and then he sniggered. “You are the bone reaper?” He pointed down at Shane with ridicule laced in his voice. His eyes sparked with disdain, and a sneer followed. “Your son was collateral damage, Shane. If you want my advice, I would tell you to forget about what you have in mind and move on. This is pointless.”Shane growled, but that didn’t stop Adrian from nodding to affirm his words. “Yes, Shane. Just go with your men and I will pretend like this never happened.” Adrian looked back at Will’s body, and seeing that he had no movement, he grunted, clenching his right fist. “That was my Assistant your men just shot at. If he is dead, then your men will die. All of them.” He made a move in an attempt to walk toward Will, but the men blocked him at the

CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO Adrian could tell that it was a woman, but it was hard to tell which woman would possess such authority. He kept on staring at the lady’s heels, patiently waiting to see who it was. Finally, she showed herself, graceful and commanding so much authority.Just her lines of eyebrows were enough to send shivers down the spines of the men, her eyes burned with flames of anger and betrayal. She was a middle-aged lady, but it was hard to tell how old she was, her body flawlessly glittering under the sunlight. She was tall, standing close to six feet. Each step she made was a symbol of raw power and strength. Looking both calm and brutal at the same time, she headed toward Shane, staring down at him with so much annoyance. “You had one simple task to do, and you failed at it.” Shane recoiled, taking two steps backward. He swallowed hard, looking the lady in the eyes. “I am sorry, Bianca! But he is not an ordinary man! You needed to see the way he killed three of m

Adrian had no regret for what he said, and even when it was very obvious that he had infuriated the two people standing tall before him, he didn’t seem to care. “Even with a hundred men, you will never be able to get what you want. That vengeance shall never be yours to take.” “Did you hear that?!” Bianca said to her son, urging him to attack with her eyes. “I want you to make his death so painful and slow that he will beg for the reaper to come for his soul, but it will almost take forever.” Kean nodded with a wry smile. “Trust me, mother.” He returned his flaming eyes to Adrian and nodded again. “I am going to make sure that all his bones are broken.” Adrian scoffed, and then he spread his arms widely like he was surrendering his entire body. “Go ahead then. I guess you are never going to listen.” He took a deep breath, his eyes urging Kean to do his worst. At that moment, Kean felt the surge to attack crawling into him, but a thought suddenly hit him, causing

CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR “I warned you, didn’t I?!” Adrian growled at him, and then he stood up from his body. “Let’s see whose bones will be broken. I still have more to break.” Kean tried to speak, but he could only stutter, whimpering as tears poured from his eyes. Adrian grabbed his leg and started dragging him toward his mother. He didn’t care about the pain he felt, increasing his pace as he glared at Bianca. Shane fell on his knees when he saw how his son was brutally being dragged to his mother. “I warned him.” He muttered, tears falling from his eyes. The guards who were standing on the way between Bianca and Adrian left the way at once, their grips on their guns became slippery even though it was their last resort for defense. Bianca stared at her helpless son, watching as he whimpered, his broken arms sprawling on the ground. “You are hurting him!” She panicked, turning to face Adrian who didn’t stop until he was close enough to her. Adrian let go of Kean, s

CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE Elara was left speechless after hearing what Adrian said. She took a deep breath, and then she took three steps backward. “I didn’t know.” She muttered, and Adrian nodded with a smirk.“Now you know, Elara.” He drew closer to her, and with a smile, he grabbed her by the hand, looking into her eyes. “I made a promise to you, Elara. I don’t intend to break that promise for any reason.” Adrian assured without letting go of his smile, and Elara responded with a quick nod, forcing a smile. She was still curious, but it didn’t look like she was ever going to get the chance to satisfy her curiosity, especially at that moment when Adrian seemed too sweet for her to want to ruin that moment. Just then, the Doctor walked out of the ward, reminding them of the serious situation that had brought them to the hospital.Adrian’s mood switched instantly, his eyes widening as they sought to know what news the Doctor had for them.“How is he, Doctor?” He inquired, inching clos

CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX Ten seconds were passed, yet Elara was still not in the mood to break her silence, but Adrian’s inquisitive stare was still lingering, his eyes staring deeply into hers like he was trying to read her mind. Just when Adrian was preparing to pull her closer, the hefty man got in the way, dragged Elara away from him with the intention of taking her away from him. Elara was helpless, staring silently like a sheep about to be led to its slaughter. “Stay away from her, boy!” The brawny fellow warned, pointing Adrian in the face. “She has always belonged to someone else. I wonder why leeching men and opportunists like you will never learn not to go near women who are not in the same class as you.” Adrian felt a sting piercing into his skin like tiny needles. The words from the stranger hit him so hard that he had to take a deep breath. But the answers he was seeking were yet to come, and the only person who was in the best position to give him a detailed explanation

CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN Adrian was the only one who wasn’t nervous at that moment when silence hovered in the air, thickened by the tension that roamed all over the place. “I don’t think you should take that call, Billy,” Carter said with a shaky tone, feeling the throbbing of his violent heartbeat. Billy shook his head, tightening his grip on the phone as his hands had suddenly become very slippery, and shaky. “I can’t ignore his call, Doctor Carter. You know what’s going to happen.” He took a deep breath, but just when he thought he was finally going to have enough courage to push the icon, the call ended. “No.” He gasped, gulping heavy saliva. His chest tightened, perspiration increasing all over him. When he saw Elara looking behind him like she was expecting to see someone, he had to quickly tone with flustered eyes, but ended up meeting an empty hallway. He continued staring until the sound of his blaring ringtone forced him to turn, his eyes moving to the phone. "It’s him

CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT “I don’t think you understand what is going on, Adrian!” Elara grunted, struggling to catch up with Adrian’s pace. She was very nervous, very reluctant to move. “This is very dangerous, Adrian, and I wouldn’t want to see you get hurt.” Her voice was laden with intense concern for Adrian, her eyes glittering with anxiety. “I suggest you get into that car and drive away at once.” She pointed to the Porsche, but Adrian shook his head in refusal, looking her in the eyes. “Not without you, Elara.” He said calmly, and then he took a deep breath. “There is no way I am letting that fellow take you away from me. I don’t care who his boss is.” Elara gasped, and with a shaky voice, she whispered, “You still don’t understand, Adrian.” She took a deep breath, and then she looked behind her, toward the entrance of the hospital. “My father and Robert were involved in a huge deal. It crashed, and because I played a major role in the part as well, Robert and my father agre

“Oh Lord!” Elara prayed for Adrian, watching as he fearlessly approached the men. She turned to Billy who had drawn closer to her, staring with tears in her eyes. “I beg you, Billy. Let him live and I promise to come with you. I will do whatever you want.” Billy scoffed, turning to Elara. “It’s already too late for that, Miss Lart. He will suffer for running his mouth.” “No.” Elara gasped, shaking her head slowly.Tears fell from her eyes, and when she turned to Adrian, her vision became blurry even after she cleaned the tears on her face.“This is not right, Billy! Adrian has done nothing to you! You should let him go. I am willing to go with you!” She turned to Billy, but it already looked like his mind was made up. “Get him, boys,” Billy said quietly, but it seemed like his subordinates heard him, or rather, they read what his body language was saying. The men snarled at Adrian, getting closer with their eyes glaring like they were in search of the perfect place on his body t

Billy fell to the ground and was forced to let go of Elara. “Are you okay?” Adrian asked as soon as he caught Elara, looking her in the eyes. She nodded, taking a deep breath.Adrian helped her get back on her feet, and then he pointed to the car.“I think you should go wait for me inside, Elara. I won’t take long.” Elara nodded, and after taking a look at Billy who was still unconscious on the ground, she hurried to the car, stepping over the blood and bodies all over the floor. Many onlookers had gathered, but they were peeping from long distances, afraid of getting closer to the scene. Their eyes were wide with fear, and they looked at Adrian as though they had seen a god. “Who is he?” Many asked, fear gripping their voices as they spoke. Soon, cameras were beginning to flash secretly, and when the owners saw that Adrian’s eyes had moved toward them, they moved away, hiding behind walls and pillars. Adrian scoffed, and ignoring all the eyes that were hawking at him, he turn
