Ch.1 Arcana High
The grand library of Arcana High Academy stretched three stories high, with shelves that seemed to touch the painted ceiling. Dust particles floated in the afternoon sunlight that poured through the arched windows, making the whole place look like something out of a dream. "Gather around everyone," the homeroom teacher called out, her voice echoing off the marble floors. Over fifty students shuffled into formation, their chatter bouncing off the old stone walls. All of the students wore the standard academy uniform which was dark blue robes with silver trim, though some had already loosened their collars or rolled up their sleeves. The teacher, Professor Aldine, was a middle-aged woman with sharp eyes and red hair pulled into a tight bun. She gestured dramatically at a massive, heavy woven cloth with decorative pictorial designs hanging on the far wall. "This library has stood for over eight hundred years," she began, pacing before the crowd. "During the Great Beast Wars, a Titan-
Ch.2 Welcome to Dominion
The duo passed through a narrow corridor lined with ancient portraits of former Arcana High leaders. The painted figures seemed to watch them with disapproving eyes. Raiden ignored the creepy feeling crawling up his spine and focused on the path ahead. A flash of black robes turned left up ahead. Raiden sped up while Jace's chubby figure trudged behind, drawing faint gasps of breath. They emerged into a circular chamber filled with study desks and floating orbs of magelight. Normally, this area would be packed with older students cramming for exams, but today it was empty. The silence felt heavy and deafening, almost unnatural. "Where did she go?" Jace panted, hands on his knees. Raiden scanned the room and found three exits. But there was no sign of Mira. Then he heard a faint sound — a soft 'click', like a latch being undone. If not for his intensely focused ears, he'd have missed it. His head snapped toward the far wall. At first, it looked like solid stone from afar, the s
Ch.3 Zombies
"What just happened?" Kade asked, his voice shaking as he stared at the now lifeless map. Mira glanced at him, her usual calm expression had finally cracked, replaced with confusion. "I'm as confused as you all are. I didn't think it would react this way." "D-did everyone see those weird words and hear that strange voice just now?" Jace stammered, pushing his glasses up with a trembling finger. "It said something about a trial being initiated." They all nodded slowly, still trying to process what had just occurred. Raiden's mind raced with multiple different thoughts. The glowing words were still hovering at the edge of his vision, they were faint but persistent. When he focused on them, they became clearer. When he looked away, they faded into transparency. It was like having a screen permanently attached to his sight. "What do we do now?" Jace asked, looking between them desperately. Before anyone could answer, a loud explosion boomed from somewhere outside the library. The f

They weaved through the chaotic hall, dodging panicked students and overturned furniture. Books lay scattered across the floor, making the footing treacherous. Raiden nearly slipped on a fallen scroll but caught himself against a shelf. The library's main exit was ahead, a set of tall double doors that led out to the academy courtyard. That was freedom and safety in sight. Maybe. A zombie staggered into their path. It was a boy, probably a first-year student judging by his size. His uniform was drenched in blood, and a chunk of flesh was missing from his neck. His mouth hung open, revealing teeth stained red. He lurched toward Jace with a wet, rattling growl. Jace's mind went blank for a second. Every instinct screamed at him to run, but his body refused to move. The zombie's hands reached for him, fingers twisted like claws. "Look out!" Raiden shoved past Jace and swung his arm, knocking the zombie off balance. The creature stumbled but didn't fall. It twisted toward Kade ins
Ch.5 Side Quest
Seven students were backed against a stone wall as five zombies staggered toward them with uneven, hungry steps. Among the trapped group were four boys and three girls. Two of those girls screamed in pure terror as they clung desperately to a boy with a buzz-cut, their faces covered in tears and snot running down their chins. "What do we do, Ash? I don't want to die!" one of them wailed, her voice cracking. "Waaahh!" the other girl sobbed even louder, her nails digging into Ash's arm. The sound of their crying filled the courtyard, drawing even more attention from nearby zombies. Ash, the buzz-cut boy they clung to, furrowed his brows as worry and bitter regret twisted his face. Had he known things would turn out like this, he would've dumped these dead weights the moment the chaos started instead of playing hero. You see, he'd had a momentary spike of lust back in the library when he saw these beautiful girls cowering in fear. Like every self-proclaimed 'gentleman', he'd offer
Ch.6 New System Features
He caught the zombie's wrists as it tried to claw at his face. Its strength was surprising, pushing against him with unnatural force. Its mouth snapped at the air, teeth trying to find his flesh. Raiden gritted his teeth and twisted, using the zombie's momentum against it. He pivoted and slammed it face-first into the stone wall. He continued the assault, hitting it once, twice. Three times. On the fourth impact, the skull finally gave way with a wet crunch. The zombie went limp. [You have killed a Level 1 Spirit Circle Zombie and acquired its mana] [You have levelled up to Level 2 Spirit Circle] Raiden released the corpse and let it crumple to the ground. His chest heaved as he caught his breath. Even though he'd advanced to Level 2 Spirit Circle, he wasn't happy about it. His hands were shaking from adrenaline, from fear, from the reality of what he'd just done. He'd killed four zombies with his bare hands, a stomp of his foot, and a piece of wood. Four things that used to
Ch.7 Onwards to the Training Complex
The current situation was dreadful for everyone in the Bluestar World, but there was nothing they could do about it except continue to survive. Perhaps their act of 'accidentally' awakening the map was their fault, but they couldn't unwrite what had happened. The damage was done, and the world had already changed. Adapting to the circumstances was the only solution for now. Raiden turned to face the students he'd just saved. His eyes quickly scanned the group, doing a mental headcount. "Six people?" The buzz-cut guy, Ash, had disappeared already. Raiden's jaw tightened slightly. He hadn’t noticed the coward slipping away the moment no one was looking. While he felt disgusted by Ash's earlier actions of pushing those girls toward the zombies to save his own skin, Raiden couldn't be bothered to enforce judgment in this chaotic time. Everyone was fighting for survival. Some people just showed their true colors faster than others. "What are your names?" Raiden asked the remaining
Ch.8 Small Zombie Horde
A wave of flames erupted outward, engulfing all three zombies. They shrieked and flailed as the fire consumed them, eventually collapsing into charred corpses. Kade stared at the bodies, chest heaving. "Holy shit. I just... I actually..." "Yeah," Raiden said quietly. "You did." No one spoke after that. They all understood now. This wasn't just about running and hiding. If they wanted to survive, they had to fight. They had to kill. Even if the things they were killing used to be people. As they continued toward the training complex, Raiden remembered the reward from his earlier quest. The Black-grade Treasure Orb was still sitting in his inventory, unused. He opened the translucent interface with a thought. The inventory screen appeared, showing a single glowing black orb icon. Curious, he mentally selected it. [Black-grade Treasure Orb] [Open? Yes / No] Raiden thought 'Yes'. The orb materialized in his hand. It was a smooth, dark sphere about the size of a baseball. It pul

Kade stepped forward, positioning himself with a clear line of sight to the supply shed. His hands were already beginning to glow with orange light as he gathered mana into his palms. The shed was about forty meters away. He could get a clean shot from this distance because it was well within his range, and also not close enough to accidentally draw the zombies directly to them. At least, that was the plan."Everyone get ready," Raiden whispered, his grip tightening on the Silvermoon Sword. "The second those zombies start moving toward the fire, we go fast and quiet."Mira nodded, positioning herself at the front with Raiden. Jace stood slightly behind them with the metal rod gripped so tightly in his hands that his knuckles had even turned white. The eleven survivors clustered together at the back, trying to make themselves as small as possible.Kade took a deep breath, focusing his energy. His eyes locked onto the shed."Flame Lance!"A spear of concentrated fire erupted from his pa
Ch.10 S1 Zombie
[You have killed a Level 4 Spirit Circle S1 Zombie and acquired its mana] The white orb shot into his chest, and Raiden felt the surge of energy flow through him. His mana reserves expanded, and the ache in his shoulder dulled slightly. But there was no time to rest as two more zombies were closing in fast. Mira intercepted the first one. This one was a female student with half her face missing. She sidestepped the zombie's clumsy lunge and thrust her palm forward. "Ignis!" A concentrated burst of flame erupted point-blank into the zombie's chest, blasting a hole clean through its torso. The creature staggered backward, flames spreading across its body. Mira didn't wait for it to fall. She spun and kicked its legs out from under it, then stomped down hard on its head while it was prone. Crack! The skull gave way to mushy brain matter, and the zombie stopped moving. Meanwhile, Jace was struggling with the second zombie — a thin, wiry boy who moved with surprising speed. It lun
