Chaos Descends
Ozias laid on his back in silence, staring at the ceiling far away. His droopy eyes were mere moments away from closing, but he tried his best to stay awake. The day had been really stressfull—he had been working nonstop for hours. Luckily, during his short break, there had been a power outage, giving him the chance to finally rest a little. However, his rest was short lived by a sudden loud bang rippling through the atmosphere, snapping him awake and expelling every fatigue clouding his mind."What was that?!" Ozias asked himself, looking around frantically and trying to pinpoint the sound's location.Another sound—similar to the first, but louder and more blood-cuddling—suddenly resounded, causing the world to shake.Ozias stood up immediately, dusted his body and rushed in a direction. He needed to report the weird occurrence to his superiors. The third time the sound came, and Ozias fell—again—but he didn't linger, popping back up to his feet and sprinting ahead.A minute later,
System Activated
Ozias stumbled forward, all his bravado fading away at the same time he almost kissed the ground. ‘Fuck meee!’ he cursed as he stumbled forward, his face planting in the butt cheeks of a random man while trying to run away. The government had issued a city wide announcement, urging everyone to head to the nearest underground bunker for safety. The bunkers were rarely, if ever, used, so most didn’t know where they were heading and just followed the crowd. This caused a great stampede that got lots of people trampled on. This was more terrible than getting attacked by the walki… Zombies. People had started to call them Zombies, and somehow… The name stuck. This seemed to make more sense to them. They were Zombies. ‘Zombies,’ Ozias iterated. He paused and looked around. He had run away after causing damage to his dead supervisor’s legs, making it unable to follow him, and he had also torn a hole through his head. Yet, it still squirmed and moved, seemingly not dead. He then cho
The Man In Pink
___[System Activated]—[Congratulations! You are the 13,849,099th Earthling to activate the Apocalypse System]—[Comprehension Unlocked: Basic Spear Mastery]—[Would you like to see your status?]–––Ozias barely read what was before him before he trembled as the Zombie crashed into him with the force of a gorilla, toppling him over as they rolled, the system notification disappearing. The momentum carried them a long distance, their bodies ricocheting like ping-pong balls off a smooth wooden table. Ozias kicked and punched as hard as he could, the viciousness behind each strike making the Zombie quiver uncontrollably. ‘Tarnation!’ Ozias’ thoughts swirled wildly in his head, his summoned courage wearing out little by little. His weapon had been thrown out of his hand after the clash, and they had rolled away from it—far out of reach. If he wanted a chance to deal with the Zombie, then he needed it. With a burst of strength, Ozias knocked the Zombie off his body, his tendons s
Learn to Survive
Ozias froze, his heart threatening to leap out of his chest and into his mouth. ‘So fast!’ he could only think of that, his eyes faintly catching the lingering pinkish energy that trailed behind him. The pink haired man hadn't teleported. He had only moved so fast that he almost seemed to teleport in Ozias' vision. He gulped inaudibly, still maintaining his courage even though he was scared shitless. “You're too close to me,” Ozias uttered, causing the man to smile and step back. “You're quite brave. I commend that,”“The name's Cole… Cole Morvane.”***A few minutes later, Ozias and Cole were making their way into the city, passing through a marketplace and hunting down Zombies one by one. Cole took the lead most times, but if he saw an opportunity for Ozias to learn more about the Apocalypse, Zombies and the System, he gave him the chance—to the dismay of Ozias. He really was tired. “So you're saying, that everything going on was… planned?” Ozias asked skeptically, not belie
Horror in the Bunker
Ozias peaked out through the door, his eyes narrowed in concentration as he watched the Zombies around moving in a direction. Something was attracting them, but he did not know what. He retreated into the shop and blocked the entrance. If he wanted to head out, he needed a plan. According to Cole, the world was changing, literally. Phenomenons that wouldn't be understood until later would occur. Millions will die, a lot will survive though, but only a few will grow and become the most important in the next phases. The cat always sitting on Cole's shoulder was a pet of his. Allegedly, it was related to the Lineage Ability of the Morvane family. They could tame monsters and beasts of various kinds, harnessing their innate and inborn abilities to boost theirs. Ozias remembered vividly, Cole mentioning that his cat possessed spacial powers with its weak Race limiting it to possessing only a small storage space. If he wanted to unlock more of its abilities, then he had to make it ev
The Slith Heir
The sounds of rapid fire rang out in a steady rhythm, the sounds of people running and shouting, drowning out in all the chaos. The soldiers committed to it, and without hesitation, they rained bullets on the young boy, uncaring about his tender looks. He had openly committed a crime, killing a fellow Human without cause… or so they thought. “What a hassle,” the boy's voice seemed to pierce through all the noise and reach the soldiers’ ears. He stood calmly, watching the hail of bullets pelt against a translucent barrier, causing no harm whatsoever to him. “Cease fire! Cease fire!!” The squadron leader commanded, raising a fist. The soldiers paused, not to reload, but only because they realised their bullets were harmless, having been shattering against the barrier all along. They knew that the world as they knew it was no more, so they had hoped—even just a little—that their bullets were effective. Alas… They collectively took a step back and shared fearful glances, their fa

It was still quite a distance away though… Until it wasn't. So he moved. His body bent out of the way of a vicious swipe, his weapon twirling in his hand and across his body, tripping the Zombie, while smacking its face at the same time. The Zombie fell backwards, and following that, the weapon came down on it, breaking its neck. Yet, it lived. Regardless, Ozias didn't fret, moving his weapon and smashing it against the side of the Zombies head, rattling its brain and cracking
Awakened Eyes
Ozias dispatched the third Zombie he had come across in the last ten minutes. He appeared to be getting the hang of killing them already. Although, at first, he thought now that he had come to terms with everything happening, the adrenaline rush that had made him defeat the previous Zombies would have receded, and he would hesitate when killing more Zombies. However, that was not the case. He craved that euphoric feeling he felt whenever he defeated a Zombie, so he actively began to search for them. And before he knew it, he had taken out two more. ___[Apocalypse System]—>[PROFILE]-[Name: Ozias Draven]-[Race: Human]-[Race Grade: F+]-[Title(s): —]-[Lineage: ???]—>[STATS]-[Physical: 3%]-[Mental: 0.3%]-[Spiritual: 0.9%]-[Flow: 2]-[Karma: 1]-[Affinity: ???]—[Comprehension(s): Basic Spear Mastery: 0.5%]—>[Inventory: 1x Skill Crux, Metal Pole]–––His Physical and Mental stats had progressed again, meaning that he was unearthing more of his racial strength. Skill Savant
[Congratulations! You are the first Earthling to earn a Title][Title, Skill Savant, has been granted][Skill, Vacuum, has been learnt]___[Skill(s): Vacuum: The World of energy bends to your will]–––“...No energy cost,” Ozias simply said, before he continued on. As impressive as the skill was, it was unable to be used passively. He wasn't that skilled in using it, otherwise its use would have been mouth-watering.That said, it didn't mean the skill was subpar. Fact is, it was better than Ozias was letting on—he had replenished his Flow in merely ten seconds after all. He didn't dwell too much on it because there were more pressing matters to attend to. For example, three Zombies had entered his Awakened Eyes range, but he still couldn't open his eyes yet. “Me and my shitty luck,” Ozias mumbled, raising his weapon. Then he paused, his face paling. “Can this get any worse?” He couldn't help but say when he sensed two more Zombies entering his range from the opposite direction.
System Quest
___[System Quest Received: RETRIEVAL]—[Beneath the calm surface lies an endless abyss. Seek the firstborn of Zerathul, the Sea God of the Forgotten Abyss]—[Rewards: ???]–––“Hmmm, I was wondering when I was going to get one of these,” Ozias smiled wistfully, noticing that what had triggered the Quest was probably what he was seeing ahead of him. He stood on a bridge, and beneath it—a few inches into the water—was a circular rift in reality. Vast quantities of Flow spiralled around it; so thick was it that even without Awakened Eyes, anyone could see the Flow. The bodies of Zombies were littered around him, their heads caved in, splattered, crushed, or severed from their bodies. Ozias’ fists were bloody, covered in rotten flesh and brain matter. He was getting the hang of it. He finally gained a snippet of understanding of his Lineage. His body was a weapon… No. It was THE weapon. He was the only Blade he needed. Weapons were just tools used to project and amplify the power
