“...No energy cost,” Ozias simply said, before he continued on.

As impressive as the skill was, it was unable to be used passively. He wasn't that skilled in using it, otherwise its use would have been mouth-watering.

That said, it didn't mean the skill was subpar. Fact is, it was better than Ozias was letting on—he had replenished his Flow in merely ten seconds after all. He didn't dwell too much on it because there were more pressing matters to attend to.

For example, three Zombies had entered his Awakened Eyes range, but he still couldn't open his eyes yet.

“Me and my shitty luck,” Ozias mumbled, raising his weapon. Then he paused, his face paling.

“Can this get any worse?” He couldn't help but say when he sensed two more Zombies entering his range from the opposite direction.

Now he was ganged up on by five Zombies, and one of them looked to be a mutant.

The silver lining in it all though, was that within his Awakened Eyes range… nothing could escape his senses—so he thought.

In one moment he was monitoring the Zombie's movements, and in the next, the Mutant Zombie was upon him, its claws swinging at him wildly.

Ozias ducked under the attack, his brows furrowing in unexpected surprise.

He didn't panic, but bent out of the way of another Zombie's strike, whacked the third’s arm away, then charged at the fourth, kicking it right in the chest and sending it flying back.

He spun on the balls of his feet to meet the strike of the mutant Zombie again, parrying its arm to the side.

The fifth closed in and slashed his arms with its set of claws, drawing blood.

Ozias groaned, a frown appearing on his face.

He bent his weapon and threw off the Mutant Zombie, kicked the second and thrust the metal pole at the fifth, killing it instantly.

The pressure lessened, but he was running out of time. Awakened Eyes wouldn't last forever, and if he lost the only vision he had, then he was worse than a sitting duck.

The Mutant Zombie was the most dreadful of them, it seemed to have mutated to have an insane burst of speed, but that was it.

It could only burst forth with speed. It didn't truly have super speed.

So using this to his advantage, he monitored it, and when it blasted towards him again, he reacted swiftly, putting the pole in its path.

Its chest crashed into it—almost going through it even—and using all the generated momentum, Ozias hurled it over his head.

The mutant Zombie soared over his head, its body flipping upside down.

Ozias torqued his torso in one seamless motion, holding the pole like a baseball bat and taking a wide swing at the falling Zombie.

The metal met its head with a furious bang, the Zombie's head exploding like a watermelon instantly. At the same time… The metal pole snapped.

Ozias almost lost his cool when that happened, but he didn't hesitate to reach out and snatch the broken half out of the air.

Like he said earlier, there was no time for fear or panic to settle within him. Either that, or he died.

He breathed out deeply, the pain in his arms becoming numb. It wasn't a good sign, as much as he liked it. The lack of feeling was proof that he was turning, and he didn't want that.

He had survived too long to be turned into a Zombie now. He needed to get to that dungeon quickly as that was his only way of finding that antidote again.

Ozias focused on the remaining Zombies, a sharp, piercing aura radiating off him.

He charged forward, smacking its arm away and using the other half of the metal pole to bat its head. Then he stabbed its head as hard as he could, finishing it off.

He moved to the next, not wasting a motion. In a series of calculated moves, he had defeated the Zombies, and an influx of energy washed over him, relieving him of his pain a little.

Ozias groaned, feeling like he had hit his head against a wall.

His comprehension wasn't easy to handle, but its use was needed. His battle prowess was increasing steadily, and he was getting better with each fight.

He looked to the side, at the body of the Mutant Zombie, and he smiled.

[1x Skill Crux]

Ozias picked it up, and it shattered.

The newest skill's name spoke for itself, but he still checked its description, and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

Instant Burst was a skill that pushed its user to their top speed in an instant. It was like going from Zero to Max in a split second.

The amount of flow he had had increased. In short, all his stats had increased, except Spiritual and Karma.

Spiritual was not something he could or would understand anytime soon, so he didn't bother with it. He didn't see it helping him in any way even, so that was that.

Instead he focused on what helped him the most at the moment.

Ozias tried to open his eyes again, but the pain forced him to close them tightly.

He tried again, but still ultimately closed his eyes.

‘Will I enter a Dungeon like this?’ Ozias pondered. He had read books, and he definitely knew that Dungeons weren't child's play. He could well and truly lose his life if something went wrong.

‘But I can't just sit and do nothing,’ Ozias continued inwardly.

‘I have to move,’ he thought again, looking at a trail of energy in the air. ‘If death comes, I'll just find a way around it.’

Such simple words couldn't have been more preposterous. But he was Ozias Draven… and a Draven didn't need to fear anything.

A few minutes earlier…Ozias was struggling. He was weaponless now, having only a flipping crowbar in his inventory! He mumbled some curses under his breath, looking around for an exit. The nearest place where solid ground was was the tunnels. However, they were high up. The water level was low, and he wasn't sure if it was going to rise anytime soon. He made his way over to the wall, looking to see if he could scale it. But, the crystalline wall was slippery, as it barely had crevices or protrusions he could use as prop. Realising that climbing the wall was futile, Ozias thought back to the object he had seen some minutes ago. “The Second born of Zerathul.”There was a moment of silence as Ozias’ thoughts wandered. The System Quest was to find the firstborn of Zerathul, and if the second born of Zerathul was still in an egg—like he saw—then there was a high chance that the firstborn was still unhatched too. Ozias sucked in oxygen sharply and dived into the sea. He would find t

  • The Mermaid in the Sealed Sea

___[Second born of Zerathul]–––Ozias hesitated for a moment, before his mind went back to something his grandfather had told him once. Fighting against a current was futile most of the time. The best option was to go with it, and see where it took you. ‘That’s suicide!’ Ozias snapped internally, but it didn't look like he had much of a choice, because the next moment the crowbar unhooked, and he was taken away. ‘Grandpaaaa!!!’ Ozias screamed, blaming old Draven for his bad luck. Ozias was taken for one of the craziest rides of his life. His body flailed across the water, breaking several stalagmites and columns in the process. The water was nearing the ceiling already, his body nearly grazing some stalactites even. The water flowed through a cave, taking him deeper into the tunnel system. Slowly, his lungs began to burn. Without oxygen, he was suffocating, and his body was weakening. Flow could make the body superhuman, but even superhumans had limits. He had lasted longer

  • Raging Waters

Ozias felt a sudden force crash into his psyche, and he groaned, falling to a knee as blood poured out of his orifices. His ears rang, his vision blurred, he tasted blood, and his grip on the guns loosened. He raised a hand to his head and grabbed it, not before dropping the gun in it though. The disorienting feeling subsided after a few seconds, and Ozias shook his head, his eyes clearing. ‘What was that?’ he thought, picking his gun again and rising to his feet. He raised his gaze up to stare at what he had seen moments prior to his disorientation, and his gaze landed on it again. In that split second where he had the chance to behold it, Ozias glimpsed its gargantuan size. The creature's head alone was large enough to encompass over a hundred metres of space. Glistening white scales, layered over one another, coated its head and sinuous body. Three twisting sapphire-like horns curved around its head like a crown, protecting its head from harm and giving it a regal look. Its

Ozias stared straight ahead at the lady sitting without care on the railings, as if she wasn't risking falling into the water below. She had long flowing white hair and striking blue eyes hidden behind a pair of blue tinted sunshades. She had a long blue dress on, with blue heels to match. Her appearance was that of someone coming from a night party or something. The cloth was revealing, somewhat, but Ozias didn't seem to be looking at that. Instead, his eyes were trained on a dog seated close to her, staring straight at him with its soulless eyes. It was a Zombie, albeit a dog. ‘Come to think of it, I haven't seen animals around since this all began… Not even birds,’ Ozias thought. The dog was a Dobermann, its body decaying already, with its spine even shooting through its skin. The dog just sat there, staring at the lady like a loyal guard dog. Ozias didn't know what to make of the situation, until the lady spoke. “Hello, handsome… What brings you here?” Her voice came with a

Seek the firstborn of Zerathul, the Sea God of the Forgotten Abyss]—[Rewards: ???]–––“Hmmm, I was wondering when I was going to get one of these,” Ozias smiled wistfully, noticing that what had triggered the Quest was probably what he was seeing ahead of him. He stood on a bridge, and beneath it—a few inches into the water—was a circular rift in reality. Vast quantities of Flow spiralled around it; so thick was it that even without Awakened Eyes, anyone could see the Flow. The bodies of Zombies were littered around him, their heads caved in, splattered, crushed, or severed from their bodies. Ozias’ fists were bloody, covered in rotten flesh and brain matter. He was getting the hang of it. He finally gained a snippet of understanding of his Lineage. His body was a weapon… No. It was THE weapon. He was the only Blade he needed. Weapons were just tools used to project and amplify the power
