Chapter 1
—[Daily Quest Successfully Completed!]- DMG Points Requirements: 10k...Beep. Beep. Beep. Ignoring the jarring sound coming from the heart rate monitor behind him, a man in his early adolescence sat besides a female patient in blue hospital gown. The female patient possessed peculiar ginger red hair and her facial appearance was way above average — Even her current sickly pale countenance did little to decrease her natural beauty. Elizabeth King. Everyone in the hospital knew who this patient was. Since the founding of the hospital, this patient held the record of being on life support the longest. — Precisely five years and counting! As for the young man besides her, he was her older brother and sole surviving family member — Henri King... "It's you." Following this statement drifting into his ears, Henri lifted his chin up as his pale grey eyes drifted towards the entrance of the private ward room, his gaze soon landing on the doctor in charge of his comatose sister. "Doc
Chapter 2
Under the blanket of the night skies, the sound of a roaring engine echoed sharply in the atmosphere, heralding a sports bike that zipped through the asphalt of Delta City's street. Feeling the wind brushing up against his face, Henri swallowed nervously as his eyes darted towards the object strapped to his left thighs — a Small handgun! Before Tecca sent him and the rest of the enforcers on their merry way, he didn't forget to leave them behind a little present — a "piece" as he fondly called them. However unlike the Deadeye Pistol Tecca used earlier, this handgun was called a Durkie pistol and it didn't have much offensive function — Basically it's bullets were manufactured to slow down the flow of inner energies within a Practitioner's meridians. - In simple term, once a Practitioner was hit with one of this bullet, they would be reduced into regular humans.. at least temporarily, until the effect wore off. Ever since Henri started working for Tecca's gang, this was the first

Silence. Henri like every other living human being has always wondered what it felt like after death. Was it the final end? Was there another life after death? a life of eternal bliss and happiness known as heaven. Or a life filled with unending torture and the biblical "gnashing of teeth" However Henri never would have guessed that the answer to this question was far beyond Whatever he had anticipated. Yes, he clearly recalled falling to his death. Yes, he accurately recalled the torturous pain of having all of the bones in his body shatter into bits. But no, he didn't go to heaven or hell. Here he was, currently floating in what appeared to be boundless black where the concept of neither space nor time existed -- and sound as well. Henri could clearly feel his body being suspended. Yet no matter how he tried, he was unable to feel any connection with his limbs or his eyes or nose.. or any part of his body for that matter — He felt like a complete outsider! The first time He
Chapter 4
"I--Is that a threat?" Henri shuddered. The thought of returning back to that horrible place -- wherever that place was, terrified him greatly. Lilith who seemed to have seen through his fright, chuckled in an amused manner. [Hmph. This venerable doesn't need to resort to petty human tricks. The only reason I was able to pull you out from the Nil Zone was through linking your true essence with mine.] [In simple terms, we both share a lifespan. If I die, your die and vice versa.] "Y--You.." Henri was left stupified. What kind of nonsense plot twist was this? His longevity was tied to a ghost? At that moment, Henri felt like he needed to sleep. Perhaps once he woke up, all of these crazy stuff happening would vanish like a puff — He was actually conversing with a ghost? How crazy! [Hmph. You should Count yourself lucky. Normally I wouldn't have entered that kind of contract but my hands were tied. Why are you not rejoicing?] "R--Rejoicing?" Henri's face contorted like he had ju

—[Ping!] —[Action Failed!]—[Player's Current Power Level is insufficient!] Henri's enthusiasm immediately died as soon as he received this series of system notifications. At the same time, the black flames gradually died down as well. "Tch. What was I even thinking.." he let out a small self mocking laughter. Even after miraculously coming back to life, his luck still remained the same — Horrible!—[Player has received Daily Quest!]—[Daily Quest; Early Build Up!] "Daily Quest?" with his interest piqued by the sudden system notification, Henri clicked the notification tab for further details.—[QUEST INFO]- Name: Early Build Up - Type: Daily- Details: Earn +10k DMG points- Guide: 30 push-ups, 20 press ups, 10 squats.. Chapter 6
Before magic became reality, science reigned supreme in society — a majority of labor carried out by man relying heavily on machineries and laws of physics. However this status quo was soon broken when the first Haunt Gate was discovered; a unique spatial gateway that led to a game like realm thriving with powerful beasts that were once thought as myths and legends. They were known as Feinds. Despite the fact that defeating a Feind oftentimes came with some valuable loots, they were not the main attractions of a Haunt Gate — Nebula Stones were! Rumored to the pure and unrefined concentrated spiritual energy that took on solid shape over time, the discovery of Nebula Stones caused the value of the Haunt Gates exploration Industry to reach an all time high and it has only continued to increase with time. Currently, the Industry firmly sat at number one . Due to how lucrative the industry appeared to be, everybody wanted to have a slice of the big fat cake and Henri was no exceptio
Chapter 7
"I see.. so you aim on becoming a Spiritist Master at my company huh..?" rubbing his beardless chin, Damian West deeply observed the simply dressed young man that was currently seated across from him. The duo were currently at the executive level floor inside Nighthawks Inc office building — more precisely, the CEO office. And they were not alone. "Becoming a Spiritist Master is not that simple. You can't just show up seeking employment. You need to be drafted." the speaker was the old man who Damian West had respectfully addressed as his master. Gerald Martins. "Drafted?" a crease played out across Henri's brows. "Indeed. All potential Spiritist Masters candidates register themselves with VANGUARD and on the National Draft Ceremony, various exploration companies would place bids on their preferred picks.. that is called a draft." Damian West explained in a fluent manner. As the CEO of Nighthawks Inc, it was only natural that he's experienced his own fair share of National Draft
Chapter 8
"Is this truly necessary? me playing dress up." with his brows raised in stubborn frustration, Henri slowly emerged from a small makeshift tent that was obviously crudely constructed. Currently, Henri was clad in a unique get up — a sleek black short sleeve top that hugged against his body like a second skin, as well as baggy pants. If one peered closely, they would be able to notice that running across the fabrics of the top were faint patterns, that bore a striking resemblance with scales. — Reptilian scales. Normally in such a scenerio, the top was supposed to be both thick and heavy. But as the one wearing it, Henri noticed the top was extremely lightweight. No, scratch that — it made him feel as light as a feather . "You wanted to enter a place thriving with Feinds, in your regular clothing? you must be either stupid or completely oblivious. Either way, someone like you would only cause trouble for our party." finishing his piece, Chuck Tucker stomped away. It was like just
Chapter 9
Wait!" Liam who was just about to take a step forward was forced to stop right on his tracks when he heard this exclaimation from behind him. Curiously looking over his shoulders, he noticed one of the party members behind him was in the process to weaving through a series of hand seals. "The Universe flows in Reverse.. All things are in perfect unity.. the ultimate eye of eternity ses all... Limitless Mandate!" Following this exclaimation, a visible burst of blue colored energy began rapidly leaking out, molding itself into the manifestation of an eye that silently hovered in the air above the party member. Julius Lombardi. Amongst the party of eight raiders, he was the only Shaman and served a role that was even more crucial than that of an Healer! As soon as the eye manifestation appeared above Julius, cold sweat slowly slid down his cheeks as he clasped all ten fingers together. Following his actions, a burst of light erupted that extended outward for over fifteen meters.
Chapter 10 — Absorbing Death Qi
Henri scratched his head. Lilith obviously wanted him to absorb the so called Death Qi that were constantly being created around him. Unfortunately, Henri had no idea how he was supposed to go about it.—[Ping!]—[Negative Qi successfully detected!] "Huh?" Henri noticed a series of notification windows popping up before his eyes. 'The system can also detect Negative Qi?'—[Does The Player wish to activate Special Function #1?]—[Warning; Player might experience a certain degree of physical and mental pain!] "Special Function number one?" Henri pursed his lips . However despite the warning from the system, Henri was curious to see the capabilities of Special Function number one. Ever since he obtained the system, this was the first time he was hearing the mention of a special function. And it appeared there was more than one. As such in a bid to satisfy his curiosity, Henri gave the mental go ahead. However the next moment, he immediately regretted this rash decision.—[Special Fun
