“Did I make it? It's been a hundred regressions. Which version of the world did I arrive in?” A man muttered. He opened his eyes, only to be blinded by a red liquid.Blood.His ears rang, and he could faintly hear the screaming of a crowd.“Where am I?” He rose to his feet, but his body felt like lead.“Woah! Flint stood up from that move.”“I honestly thought he died after Elton's elite move.”“That move would have sincerely killed me.”“Why would you pick Elton as your freaking challenger?”The voices were starting to get clearer. The man looked down and realized his hands were covered in blood.“My name is still Flint, even in this world.” He muttered to himself. An elderly man stepped forward, placing his hand on Flint's shoulders.“Give up on becoming a mage, Flint. You can't even get past the trial with someone like Elton. If you call it off now, I'd be able to save you some face.” The elderly man uttered.Flint raised his head, staring at this opponent in front of him.He had r
SKILL ACQUIRED
After all those lives as a sword saint, a grand mage, and a hero, he was back to being a peasant who nearly died to a brat like Elton.Flint sat up, ignoring the pain around his body.“Being a regressor is such hard work. Okay then, what's my current status?” He asked.[SYSTEM STATUS: INITIALIZED][Host: Flint Hayd][Status: Final Regressor][Vessel Condition: Level 1 (Critically Weak)][CORE ATTRIBUTES][Mana Pool: INFINITE][Description: Accumulated residue from 100 world-leaps has bypassed all magical limits.]Flint nodded his head, “That's one good thing. But if using a little mana would cause so much pain, I have to train harder.”[UNIQUE TRAIT: Skill Devourer.][DEVOURED SKILLS: Earth Fist.]The feeling was bitter sweet, and Flint stared at the screen again.“If I survive in this world, can I finally return home?” He asked, remembering his true goal.[Once the Host has saved a world from final destruction, the journey home would commence.]“Alright. And as always, I won't know w
CLASS 1A
Flint stood over Elton's body, and the rock pieces on his hand fell off.Without saying a word, he turned around and went back into his house.“What a bother.” Flint said, moving to the fridge.Today was the day he would get into the mage academy, and he had already wasted enough time.He picked up some left over snacks and dropped the money he had taken off Elton on the table.‘Heading to the academy. I dropped a few things, please manage it and take care while I'm gone. I'll visit you all soon again.’Flint wrote a note, and placed the money bag over it.He had previously counted it, and it was fifty gold loinA gold loin was enough to feed his family for two months, containing three course meals a day.He could already imagine how happy they'd be.Flint's body ached, causing him to frown, “I can't keep having so much pain from a little struggle.” He thought out loud. “Strengthening this body would mean some exercises.” After packing out some clothes in his backpack, Flint set out
GOLDEN LOCK
Flint made his way to the dormitory. He had been given a room at the gate so he wanted to settle in.[Skill Acquired: Golden Lock]The small notification made him smile.Just as he was about to turn into a part of his room, a whistle rang out in the hallway, causing him to stop.“Just because Instructor Kaelen is blind, doesn't mean we are going to accept you.” Bale appeared with a group of students behind him. However, Flint couldn't even be concerned. He turned and walked straight down.Seeing that he was ignored, Bale ran after him.“You think you can ignore us? Wait till we get into class, I'd make sure you pay when I stand in the first position in Class 1A.”Flint paused in his steps, “No one cares about you, rich boy, not even your lackeys.” He pocketed his hands, and walked to the door of the room.Entering inside, Flint collapsed on the bed and brought out a snack from his bag.“Once I'm done eating, I'd have to do some exercises to get this body working.”Flint spoke to himse
WORLD'S DESTRUCTION
“Earth Fist.” Rocks gathered Flint's hands as he turned around. His reflexes came through just in time, and a heavy force slammed into him.He was pushed back, even though he had blocked the move.Raising his head, Flint realised she had not used any magic spell. It was Jolene.“How is this guy able to use two elements? He used Fire at first, now earth?”Someone whispered.“Any mage can use more than one element as long as they have the affinity for it.” “But that guy has no mana fluctuations.” Someone frowned.“Maybe he's hiding it.” Flint ignored the whispers, his breath coming out harshly.“You didn't use any spell?” He gave a half smile at Jolene.Had she wrapped her fist in pure mana just to hit him?“I don't need a spell to win you.” Jolene narrowed a gaze. She didn't have a good expression of Flint. He was acting arrogant and she didn't like it.“I'm still standing, Peasant. Don't think hiding your mana powers would make you win. That's just a low move. But I expected it fro
SKY COURT CITY
The next day was class free.Flint had chosen to go for training. No one ever visited the gym, because they were all concerned about the mana density and the spells they could develop and practice.Flint spent the morning using the weight lifts. He practiced and performed sets on each gym item.He was sweating buckets, but he didn't want to stop. The bell rang for break period but Flint snuck into the magic practice room. This was his chance to practice the new spells he had gotten.“Shadow Bind.” The shadows moved like ropes, generating from his own shadow, before moving to wrap around a dummy practice mannequin.“Okay this is useful, but I know it can do so much more.” Flint narrowed his gaze, and then turned his fingers. The shadowy rope-like hands tightened over the limbs of the dummy, and in a quick moment, the limbs shattered.“Ah–” Flint was shocked, “Maybe too much.” He smiled at the power. Then he faced another dummy.“Let's try again. Shadow Bind.” Flint said again, the proc
ACTIVATING INFORMATION
Flint walked through the halls of the room, asking people around. He ensured that those he met weren't students of Class1A, so everyone he met treated him with understanding and were more than willing to answer his questions.“Yeah, we know Bale Crown. Oh you mean someone related to him? That guy is like a devil.”“Everyone is scared of him. His name is Marcus Crown, and he is the head of Class 3A, so you can easily imagine how strong he is.”Flint got information from everywhere, trying to make it subtle.“Marcus Crown.” Flint muttered, heading back to his room, “Watch your back Marcus. You'd paid for what you did. I really despise threats.” The next day, a meeting was called in Class 1A.“Everyone, I'm sure this is news most of you have heard of but I'd be saying it again.” Kaelen began the announcement.“As the A level of your class, the school has put in a lot of resources to ensure that you all get stronger, in order to help in the war.” He continued.“War?” Flint's ears perked
THE TRAVELLING SPELL
Sky Court City was a sight to behold.Although it wasn't as beautiful as the large floating island above them, it still had its pros. The air was fresh and the road was clean.“This world is very flashy.” Flint said to himself. After a few moments of admiration, he went back to business.“Excuse me Sir, I'm looking for a job, one where I can make quick money.” Flint asked an elderly man, selling some street snacks at the side of the road.“Eh? Oh yer! Quick bucks right? See that big buck building over there? That's the Iron Golem Mercenary. It's the highest ranking guild in the city. I'm very sure a young man like you could find exactly what you need.” The elderly man directed him.Flint gave him a small bow, “Thank you Sir.” He said, moving towards the direction of the building. It was truly a large building up close.Flint pushed open the door and moved in.A thick wave of beer, ale, and a musky scent filled the room. There was a noise of laughter and music blasted heavily. On the o
SECOND COURT GATE
Flint waited and hailed a taxi.“I'd like to go to the Second Court gate of the city.” Flint informed the driver and the man simply noddedIn less than thirty minutes, they had arrived at the Second Court gate.Flint had taken in most of the city as he was driven across. The city was truly beautiful unlike where he had come from.“I should relocate my parents here.” He muttered to himself, as the driver rode him.Soon enough, they arrived at the place.Flint took out a silver loin and gave it to the man, before walking away. The driver wanted to call him, but by the time he had realized what he was given, Flint had gone far.“Such a kind young man.” The driver said.A silver loin was basically a week's wage for him if he worked from eight in the morning till midnight. But unknown to the man, Flint had no knowledge of how money was being spent in such a place.“Is everyone here?” A tall man, wearing golden armour stood with his team, holding a shiny golden sword.“I think there's one o
