Dante stood on the wooden dock, staring at the massive white yacht bobbing gently against the crystal clear water. He had emptied his entire savings account from the past few months just to rent this luxurious private vessel. He desperately wanted to fulfill the ultimate wish of his wife, Ginevra. He wanted to make up for the romantic wedding proposal she had missed, planning to do it right here in the middle of the breathtaking ocean. He pictured her smiling, finally looking at him with genuine love.Footsteps approached the boarding ramp. Dante turned around, his welcoming smile freezing completely.Ginevra did not show up alone. Standing right beside her was her male corporate assistant, luca."Why is he here?" Dante narrowed his eyes, pointing at the fragile looking man.Ginevra crossed her arms over her chest. Her gorgeous face hardened into a mask of pure disgust. "Dante, can you stop being so incredibly narrow minded and petty? Look at him. luca has been under immense pressur

Dante pulled his mobile phone from his pocket. The bright screen flashed a severe storm warning in thick red letters. He looked at the screaming wind outside the glass windows. He completely ignored the toxic drama happening right behind him and sprinted straight into the cockpit. He grabbed the heavy steering wheel, desperately trying to turn the massive yacht back toward the safe harbor. The violent storm hit the ocean like a massive sledgehammer. The entire vessel tilted dangerously, groaning under the immense pressure of the crushing waves. It felt like they were on the verge of capsizing completely. Dante put his own life on the line, using all his physical strength to control the spinning wheel. He glanced back through the open doorway. Inside the chaotic, rocking cabin, Ginevra sat on the luxury sofa. She held the hands of luca tightly against her chest, rubbing his knuckles to comfort his fake panic.Dante let out a bitter, hollow laugh in his mind. A romantic proposal? What

The cold waves crashed against the sandy shore. Ginevra dragged Luca out of the small orange boat, throwing her waterproof phone onto the wet ground."I have to call the emergency rescue team immediately." Ginevra tapped the screen frantically. "Dante is still out there in the storm."Luca collapsed onto the wet sand. He clutched his shirt directly over his heart, gasping loudly. His face twisted in agonizing pain."President Ginevra!" Luca curled into a tight ball, wheezing heavily. "My heart feels horrible! I think the freezing water triggered my severe condition! I am dying!"Ginevra dropped the phone entirely. Her beautiful face turned perfectly white. She dropped to her knees, pulling Luca tightly into her arms. The very thought of Dante vanished completely from her mind in a split second."Hold on!" Ginevra grabbed her phone again, dialing the hospital line instantly. "Send an ambulance right now! My assistant is having a massive heart attack! Hurry up!"The ambulance arrived in

He moved to the next statue. A towering woman with six arms, each hand gripping a different element. Fire roared silently in one palm. Water spiraled in another. Lightning crackled between her third and fourth fingers. The remaining two hands held pure darkness and blinding light, both somehow existing side by side without canceling each other out.FREYA. GODDESS OF FATE AND RUIN. WEAVER OF DESTINY ACROSS NINE HUNDRED REALMS.The next one. A colossus gripping a trident taller than a cathedral, with eyes carved from deep blue crystal that seemed to track Dante's movements as he walked.NEPTUNE. LORD OF THE ABYSSAL DEPTHS. COMMANDER OF THE ETERNAL TIDES.Dante's mouth hung open. He turned in a slow, stunned circle, reading inscription after inscription. Gods of thunder. Gods of death. Gods of plague and harvest and shadow and dawn. Deities from Greek mythology, Norse mythology, Roman mythology, and civilizations that had never been recorded by any human tongue. An entire pantheon of cos

Ginevra finally pressed the call button, putting her expensive phone to her ear. The loud, gruff voice of the maritime rescue captain boomed through the receiver immediately."Are you completely out of your mind?" The rescue captain roared, his heavy voice thick with intense, raw frustration. "You are calling us now? Three full hours after your luxury yacht encountered the rogue wave? Do you have any idea how extremely dangerous the sea conditions are tonight? The freezing water temperature alone is enough to kill a grown man in mere minutes! Why on earth did you wait this ridiculously long to report a missing person? Do you actually want your own husband to die out there?"Ginevra gripped her phone tightly, her knuckles turning entirely white. She was completely unable to offer a real, logical explanation. She glanced guiltily at luca lying perfectly fine on the white hospital bed."I had an urgent medical emergency to deal with first!" Ginevra swallowed hard, forcing her tone to sou

Realizing she had accidentally slept through the entire night, Ginevra hushed him quickly with a gentle, apologetic pat on his shoulder. She scrambled quickly off the bed, hurried entirely out of the bedroom, and rushed into the wide hallway before finally answering the incoming call."Hello?" Ginevra rubbed her forehead, her voice thick with exhaustion."Is this the actual wife of the victim?" The rescue captain shouted furiously over the crackling receiver. "Why have you still not shown up at the docks? Are you really his legal wife or just some heartless, random stranger? I have called this number over a dozen times tonight!"Ginevra stopped walking immediately. Her fingers gripped the heavy wooden railing of the grand staircase."What victim are you talking about?" Ginevra asked, her voice trembling uncontrollably. "Explain yourself right now!""We recovered a male corpse from the freezing sea exactly one hour ago." The captain barked coldly, showing absolutely zero sympathy for

Ginevra let out a scream so sharp it echoed off the marble walls of the foyer. She stumbled backward, her heel catching on the edge of the rug, and nearly fell before catching herself on the console table."Dante!" Her voice came out cracked and wild. "What, how, you were, they told me you were dead!"Dante stood in the doorway without moving. His eyes moved slowly from Ginevra's white face to the man trembling on the floor behind her. Luca had crawled backward on his hands until his spine was pressed flat against Ginevra's legs, using her body as a shield. His soaked pants clung to his thighs and a thin trail of liquid ran across the marble beneath him.Dante's expression did not change. Not a flinch. Not a blink. He looked at the two of them the way someone looks at an overturned trash can on the street. Mild disgust and absolutely nothing else."Are you a human or a ghost?" Ginevra's voice trembled violently. Her hand gripped the edge of the table so hard her knuckles turned bone w

The taillights of Ginevra's sports car disappeared around the corner and the street went dark again. Dante stood in the doorway, the rain soaking through what was left of his ruined shirt, and he laughed. Not the bitter, hollow laugh from before. This one was different. Quieter. Aimed entirely at himself."Six months of overtime." He shook his head slowly, rainwater dripping from his jaw. "Six months of skipped meals and double shifts to charter a yacht for a woman who left me to drown and then fell asleep in another man's bedroom."He walked back inside and went straight to the study. He pulled open the drawer, took out a clean sheet of paper, and sat down. The pen moved fast. He did not hesitate on a single line.Divorce agreement. Division of assets. Signature lines for both parties. Clean, simple, final. He placed it in the center of the dining table where Ginevra would see it the moment she walked in. He adjusted it once, making sure the edge lined up perfectly with the grain of

The woman pressed her back against the alley wall, still trembling, watching the three men groan in a crumpled heap near the warehouse. Her torn dress was soaked through and her bare feet were bleeding from the wet concrete, but her eyes were locked entirely on Dante."How did you do that?" Her voice came out breathless, caught somewhere between terror and pure disbelief. "You kicked them like they weighed nothing."Before Dante could respond, the scarred leader dragged himself out from under the pile. Blood dripped from a gash on his forehead and one of his arms hung at a wrong angle, but his eyes burned with unhinged fury."You think this is over?" He spat a mouthful of blood onto the pavement and reached for a phone in his back pocket with his good hand. "I have got twenty men within five minutes of here. Every single one of them is going to come down on you like a freight train. You just signed your own death warrant, you stupid fool."Dante looked at him the way someone looks at
