The CEO's Disgraced Husband Is the Sea God's Commander

Dante stood on the wooden dock, looking at the huge white yacht rocking gently in the waves in front of him. To rent this boat, he had almost spent all the money he saved over the past few months.

He wanted to make up for a late proposal to his wife Ginevra, out here on the sea she had always wanted to visit. He had even imagined the rare soft look on her face when she got the surprise.

Footsteps came from the boarding ladder. Dante turned with a smile, but the light on his face froze at once.

Ginevra had not come alone. Standing next to her was her male assistant, Luca.

"Why is he here?" Dante frowned, looking at the well-dressed man with a smile on his face.

Ginevra stopped and fixed the collar of her coat. There was no anger on her face, only the usual light impatience.

"Dante, don't be so petty."

Her tone was flat, like she was reminding someone who didn't know better.

"Luca has been running projects for the company lately and lost some weight. I'm his boss. Taking him out for some sea air is just a normal staff benefit. The boat is so big—one extra person, how much space can he take from you?"

Dante held down the pain in his chest. "Do you know what we came here for today?"

Ginevra gave a light laugh, shook her head, and looked at him like he was someone who made no sense.

"Again with your endless emotional needs. You stay home every day, so your view of the world is only this small. Luca and I fight hard outside every day. You have no idea what real pressure is."

Right then Luca stepped forward at the right moment, a mild and proper smile on his lips,

"President Ginevra, maybe I should just go back to the company. Dante probably prepared a private time for the two of you. I'm really extra here. Don't let me cause trouble between you. I'll go back to the city and handle things myself."

He said it in a high-sounding way, never once mentioning that he had chosen this day on purpose to come along.

Ginevra reached out and patted Luca's arm. When she turned to look at Dante, the annoyance in her eyes almost spilled out:

"See? Even an employee with moderate anxiety is thinking of you. And you—besides being sensitive and always suspicious, what else can you do? Don't block the way."

She linked arms with Luca and walked past Dante.

In the moment they brushed by, Luca tilted his head a little. At an angle Ginevra could not see, the mild look in his eyes faded a bit, leaving only a faint smile. He said in a low voice that only the two of them could hear.

"Thanks, Dante."

Dante stood still, his palms ice-cold. He saw it clearly—Luca was no innocent person.

Without a word, he boarded the boat and headed for the control cabin.

Ginevra did not even glance at him. She took Luca straight down the corridor into the most luxurious private cabin below the deck.

"We need to discuss a few urgent contracts. Don't come in and disturb us." She shut the heavy wooden door behind them.

Dante stood alone on the empty deck and started the engines. The yacht cut through the waves toward the deep sea. He gripped the wheel hard, his knuckles turning white.

Why did they have to discuss contracts behind a closed bedroom door?

Two hours felt as long as two years. At last the cabin door opened.

Ginevra and Luca came out one after the other. Neither of them held any papers. Luca had already changed into casual clothes. He leaned on the railing and let the sea wind blow through his hair.

"Ginevra, the sea view here is really nice." Luca turned and gave her a clean smile. "Much better than looking at those numbers in the office."

Ginevra looked at him with a touch of superior permission in her eyes, "As long as it helps you relax, this trip wasn't wasted."

But when her eyes moved to Dante in the control cabin, that mild look disappeared at once, leaving only coldness. She walked up to the cabin and held out her phone.

"Dante, take a photo of the two of us."

Dante stared at his wife, almost unable to believe his ears.

"What are you standing there for?" Ginevra frowned. "It's just a normal work photo. Are you going to start that ridiculous jealousy of yours again? Hurry up and take it."

Dante held back his anger and raised the phone.

On the screen, Luca leaned toward Ginevra in a natural way. His hand even settled on her waist, the pose close enough to claim something.

Dante put the phone down at once, "Take your hand off."

"Can't you put something clean in that head of yours?" Ginevra didn't even bother to lift her eyelids. "This kind of pose for a business photo is perfectly normal. Stop putting your narrow thoughts on us."

"Normal social contact doesn't include him touching your waist." Dante stepped forward.

Luca's eyes flickered. Far from backing off, he calmly drew his hand back and took half a step away, wearing a just-right look of helplessness.

"Dante, you're overthinking it. The boat swayed a bit just now, so I only steadied her. Since it bothers you this much... then I apologize. Ginevra, maybe I should just stay downstairs, so Dante won't keep looking at me the wrong way and take it out on you."

Those few words were well calculated. They put Dante right into the position of "making a scene for no reason and blaming others."

Ginevra's face darkened. She stepped forward and put Luca behind her, looking at Dante as if he were a useless rock:

"Dante, the way you are right now really makes people feel bad. Luca is helping me with work. And you? Besides using this kind of suspicion to hurt me, what else can you do? Sometimes being with you feels like a waste of time."

Dante stood frozen. Those calm but high-and-mighty words cut deeper than any angry shouting.

Just then the sunlight was slowly covered by clouds. The sea turned gray. The wind grew a little stronger.
