“Ling, Ling, Ling….” Rudo kept calling out loud for Ling to stop.
Initially Ling did not want to stop but since the call was becoming too loud that he could not resist again, he had to stop and wait for Rudo and Trisha who had followed him to come close.
As they drew near, he did not give them a chance to speak, he first spoke. “Why are you two following me? I said you should return to Sullivan as you wish.”
Trisha was quick to give him a response, “Rudo here refused to go without you.”
Rudo had to now speak for himself. “You know how this works Ling, Master Sullivan expects us to come back together so it is not wise that I return alone. Stop going after Stan and let’s return to the others. Together we have a higher chance of beating him than if we are alone. You already saw that we couldn’t catch him alone.”
“And who said anything about fighting him again?” Ling asked Rudo because he was not going after Stan to continue the fight but for something else.
The question he asked was one that made both Trisha and Rudo surprised, so Rudo released the question at once. “Then why are you going after him?”
“He knows something we don’t and I want to find out what it is.”
“Whatever Gibson knows, trust me he is not going to tell you so don’t waste your time.” Trisha advised him because she had spent a little time with Gibson and that happened to be the major thing she observed where he was.
“Come on Ling….” Rudo was tired of having that argument as he was beginning to get afraid. “We don’t want to be an enemy to the school and our colleagues.” His fear was that if Sullivan finds out that they were not going after Stan to hurt him as instructed then they will also become a target that would face punishment from the school superiors.
“That is why I am telling you to go back and not follow me. I have made up my mind and you can’t stop me.”
“Why are you this stubborn? I don’t know you to be this way.” Trisha complained about Ling.
“Tell him… Please remind him of who he is.” Rudo added as he was now on the same page with Trisha and together they might be able to bring him back to being who he is known to be.
“Shhh…..” Ling said to the both with a demonstration as there was a shift in his focus.
“Don’t shh me, you are making a huge mistake.” Trisha refused to obey him.
“Quiet and listen.” Ling added as he looked around, even to the top of the buildings around them.
“I’m not going to fall for your trick….”
Rudo had to now interrupt her as he felt and heard some noises which proved that Ling was not trying to shut them up. “Trisha. Can you hear that?”
Since Rudo had now confirmed the approaching noise, Trisha then chose to be still in order to hear what they were hearing.
“Something is coming.” Ling said with so much confidence after some confirmations that the noise was not made by humans.
At this point it was now clear to even Trisha that danger was close, the noise alone was enough proof and since she was not good in combat and would always like to run away from fight, she took off in the direction that seemed clear to her.
“Wait Trisha!” Ling called for her to stop running but since she did not stop, he pursued after her because he knew that she could fight, and Rudo did the same, knowing this also. They were now after keeping her safe from whatever was coming.
“Ow,” she cried as she was hit to the ground by something they have never seen. As she fell, both Ling and Rudo were about three feet away from her and the unknown creature that had knocked her down.
“Is that an alien?” Rudo asked because that was the only thing his mind could think of it to be.
Then two more of the same species came from the other angles, surrounding the three of them as Trisha got up again and stayed close to Ling and Rudo who took fighting posture because for the species to hit Trisha down, it meant that they were there for trouble and fighting was the only way.
“Whether aliens or not, we have to fight. Remember the first rule of combat, avoid being hit as you make the counterattack.” Ling reminded both Trisha and Rudo because at this point Trisha could not run from them, her only option was to fight.
The species were aliens from outer space, they were the enemy which Adoth had come to prepare Stan for their attack. They were fully covered with their armor as their arms generated laser blades which they would use as weapons against the three elites that were ready to fight them.
As the blades were generated, fear gripped the three of them because they were armless and to fight such an enemy that was armed with such a powerful weapon and survive was typically going to be impossible.
“We should surrender.” Trisha said out of fear as Ling and Rudo shouldn’t be thinking the same thing yet they maintained their fighting posture waiting for the aliens to attack.
“These things don’t look like they will spare us if we surrender.” Rudo was the one to answer her while Ling was seriously thinking of how they would win against those aliens in a fight without a weapon.
“I can’t fight.” Trisha said as if they were not aware of that fact. If she could fight they wouldn’t have bothered pursuing her in the first place, they would have left her to draw the aliens away.
“But you will have to. Stay close.”
The aliens were waiting for them to attack but since they were not making any move, they had to attack, swinging their blades in an attempt to cut them.
Ling flipped backwards as he felt the speed of the blade. Luckily for Rudo, after dodging the swinging of the blade, he laid hold of a rod which was on the ground and that he picked up using it as a weapon to defend himself.
Meanwhile, Trisha was screaming as she ran up and down dodging the alien’s blade from touching her. She could not fight like Rudo and Ling so there was no use trying to hit them.
Due to her screaming all over the place, Stan Gibson who was quite far from them could hear her scream but he was unable to discern why. He could recognize Trisha’s voice and it kind of provoked him that she was still following him after their agreement.
“What the hell is she doing here? I thought I told her not to follow me?” he asked himself as he set to continue his move because he did not want her near him again since he did not know what else she would ask from him.
[New task. Save Trisha, Ling and Rudo. Now.]
As he heard this from Adoth, he felt cold all over his body, he did not know where to start from. In the same vein, he understood that the screaming of Trisha was a call for help and from the sound of the system, he knew it was urgent. Adding to this, he was getting so fond of Trisha that he would not like any harm to come to her.
He felt like this was the actual time he was to return the favor he owes her, so he turned around and headed for the direction where her shout was coming from.
“Look out,” Rudo screamed the name of Trisha as he dived the alien that was about to smite her with its blade, removing focus from the one that was onto him. Now he had two of them facing him as Trisha laid on the ground because he had already been cut in her right leg therefore moving was very difficult.Rudo was onto the top of the alien that he had pushed to the ground and was releasing a series of blows on it even though it was pointless as they had hit those aliens with all they had yet there was no effect. While punching the alien hard, another stabbed him from the back causing him to cease the punch in pain.“Noooooo…” Stan showed up as he rushed the alien that had stabbed Rudo. Even Trisha the main reason why he chose to take on the task which Adoth had given him, he still did not want Rudo dead. Besides the system did not instruct him to save only Trisha, rather he was instructed to save the three of them meaning that if Rudo dies the task was not a success.Meanwhile the ali
Seeing how bad they were and his mission depends on saving the three of them, Stan said, “Ling, quick, we must get them to a hospital.”“No,” Rudo struggled to speak out even in his pain.“Save your strength, bro.” Ling said to him.But he wouldn’t listen as he knew that his time had come. “Leave me here. I can’t make it.”“We are not leaving you.” Ling Tingzhe and Stan Gibson disagreed strongly with him. Their focus was more on him because he was wounded in a more critical place than Trisha.“Thank you Gibson, I wanted you dead yet you are still here trying to save my life. I regret not giving you the chance for us to be friends and in my I wish we could be brothers.” Rudo said his last words as he drew his last breath.“No, no, no,” Ling cried as he shook the lifeless body of Rudo, focusing him to wake up. Aside from Rudo being his greatest competitor when it comes to speed, he was also a great friend and his death would so much affect him. He was not ready to lose him like that. “R
Stan Gibson and Ling Tingzhe were sitting beside the bed where Trisha Graham was lying, they had finished administering treatment to her wounds in the best way they could and she was now sleeping as they waited for her to wake up. They were quite confident that she would because she was now breathing in the normal way which anyone sleeping would. In the course of waiting for her to wake up, Adoth then chose to give Stan the reports of his last task which was also his first legal task, reasoning being that he had to fight against the things that he is to protect earth against. [XP gained.]As he heard the report from Adoth, he expected to hear more, yet none was coming so he had to ask questions to why but he could not do that in the presence of Ling since he was yet to know about the system, so he excused himself from the room, going down stairs where he would freely interact with Adoth with being interrupted by Ling due to curiosity of him speaking to himself.“Adoth, why am I not g
Running was no longer in the mind of Stan else he would have left even they arrived so his supposed movement was not going to be towards to running from them, therefore he decided to act by the command of Sullivan by maintaining his position close to Trisha as he waited to see what their next action would be even though the looks on their faces could already reveal a bit about their next action. “Bond him.” Sullivan said to Oscar. Just as Oscar was approaching Stan to carry out the instruction he was given, Ling Tingzhe came up in front of Stan and said to Sullivan. “Master, please, this is not necessary.”“Will you move aside?!” Sullivan scolded him because his standing in front of Stan caused Oscar to stop.“Ling, you know the consequences of what you are about to do.” Atkinson reminded him as the anger in their faces was waxed high due to what they were seeing and how Ling had turned out to be in favor of Stan instead of the mission which they had left the school for.Ling was st
It was noon when they arrived at the Elite academy again. Entering through the gate of the academy so many students were awaiting their arrival. They had already received Callum Jones earlier in the day when he returned with the corpse of Rudo Walid.Callum Jones had already told them the lie which they were forced to believe. So they all had conceived the same belief and were angrily waiting for Sullivan and the rest of the crew that were sent out to bring back Stan so they would deal with him for killing Rudo or causing his death as the case may be.Just as they were entering the vicinity of the school, a group dragged Stan from the custody of the Sulliva, without asking any question or even responding to their salutation. Aside from being angry at Stan, they were also mad at Sullivan for letting a kid under his watch pass away. And now they would have to answer to the parents of Rudo, explaining to them in proper detail how their son died. Which no parent would take likely. With w
Guzman was not expecting the knock to be from a student and most of all one who had just returned from outside the school premises with Sullivan Nathan. He asked immediately, “What are you doing here Tingzhe? Aren’t you supposed to be resting?” “I can’t rest, sir.” With that response, Guzman quickly concluded that it was because he had lost a friend and probably was seeing his spirit, so he said, “It’s okay, you will get over it in a matter of time.” Ling understood where he was driving with those words and it was totally off from what he was thinking, so he had to state his reason for coming to this office, which was also the reason why he couldn't find himself sleeping. “Actually sir, it is not what you think,” saying that he got Guzman’s attention as he continued. “I really need to see Trisha.” That request gave Guzman a shock as he didn’t expect that from him. “What for?” Guzman asked him, curious to know his reason. “Ummm,” he stuttered. “If seeing her will make you rest, th
Minute passed after Stan said those words, yet there was no response from Adoth and that made him feel very devastated that he saw himself as a failure once again. He was beginning to see himself from a different perspective after getting to know Adoth, the hope he lost was restored by Adoth but now all hopes were lost, and this time he did not only fail himself according to his view, he also saw it as though he failed the entire human race because a task was give given to him.Tears rolled down his cheek as he prepared his heart towards death as he knew that nothing could be done to stop the council from passing negative judgment upon him. He began to think of the afterlife and how he would get to his parents once again.[It is not over yet. Get some rest.] Adoth finally said something to him after he was far into his thoughts, waiting for the morning to come for them the council to do that which they had always longed for.Well, the response came late, it was at a very wrong time a
Few minutes into the hearing, after Sullivan Nathan and two others that went outside the school with him had finished speaking based on what they knew, claiming that Stan was the one that killed Rudo. The judges of the case, which included Preston Osborne, Guzman Ronald and one other leader in the academy had to put their heads together as they deliberated on what their judgment would be, there was a voice from the audience.“I have something to say.” The voice was loud and could be traced to a direction, so all eyes turned to the direction which the voice had come from so as to see who was about to disrupt the process.Lo, it was Trisha who had said those words, she stood to her feet so that they would all see her as she stepped forward while all eyes were still fixed on her.“What does she think she is doing?” Atkinson whispered to Sullivan. “Sir, is this allowed here?” Sullivan asked his superiors who were about to pass judgment before the interruption.“Trisha, aren’t you suppos
