STG(Special Task Group)

"No, it's just that I didn't expect to meet you here."

"Have we met before?" Verin asked in an flat tone while looking at Luke who showed a surprised expression after hearing Verin's question.

They had met before, but how did the man who had saved her forget that they had met? Did that guy do it on purpose? No, the man didn't do it on purpose and the look on his face didn't tell a lie. After all, can that flat stare be classified as someone who is lying or telling the truth? Luke thought as he looked out the window of the elevator that was going up to the 7th floor of this building.

"No, we've never met, in fact I've only heard about you a lot." Luke replied with a slightly fake smile at the man who was leaning against the elevator wall while folding his arms.

"You, lying." When Verin said that Luke was shocked and how did this man even know that he was lying. "If you're wondering how I can tell you're lying, that's easy, because I have the ability to tell if someone is lying or not." Those were the words he spoke.

"Forgive me for lying." Luke couldn't help but bow his head guiltily for lying to someone who had once saved his life.

"No, you don't need to apologize, instead it's my fault because I always forget important things." Verin said so while scratching the back of his head. However, his face didn't change in the slightest and still remained flat. Does this man not have any emotions inside of him? Maybe this guy named Daniel Verin was thinking or doing too much to forget a thing or two and Luke understood that too. And there was a little sense of relief from him because the man named Daniel Verin was not a cold person but only a person who only had a flat expression.

While taking the elevator to the 7th floor which might be a team room of 10 Luke and Verin didn't say a word and even when they got to the 7th floor they entered a white room. The floor, walls and ceiling of this room are white but, there is one thing that stands out about this room which is a white door but the doorknob is black. Verin turned the handle of the door and he slowly pushed the door and saw a large room inside. Seen several people wearing the same clothes were in the room.

A man is sleeping on the sofa with his face covered by a magazine two more people are standing on a huge bookshelf discussing something. One of the two people is a girl with long hair that goes past her waist is hazelnut colored and the man in front of her staring at Luke with a look of intimidation, the messy haired man gave off a strong air of hostility towards him. Why does that man seem to want to kill Luke? In fact, had they ever met in a place where that person gave off a feeling of hostility towards him? Luke tried to think a few times but he couldn't seem to remember anything about the person because they had never actually met.

"What's the matter Charles?" asked the girl while looking at the man in front of her in astonishment.

"N-nothing sis." replied the messy haired man named Charles, but the girl turned her face back in the direction Charles was looking and her eyes met Luke's.

"Oh, there's a new member." That was her response the first time she saw Luke and not long after that she turned her face back to read the book she was holding

"Welcome to squad 10." Verin replied as he took the letter of assignment which Luke was holding.

So, this is the team of 10 that he's been looking for that even took hours. But why is this squad room in such a top secret? Even everyone here doesn't know anything about Team 10. What's going on here? Why was he even involved in such a complicated matter?

"If you think about why this team is so secretive, why people don't know anything about this and why you're here." Again this man named Daniel Verin read Luke's thoughts.

"It's easy, because this team is a special team that works directly under the superiors who are at the headquarters. Not to anyone here but to those in the center where we report, why are you here? It's easy because you're the person I chose directly. Is there anything else you want to think about or ask?" This guy is really scary because he can guess the contents of other people's heads and Luke can only shake his head.

"Ha ha ha…!!" A loud laugh came from the man who was lying on the sofa while covering his face with a magazine. The man slowly reached for the magazine and began to sit down while taking something from the coat pocket which was located to the left of his chest. The man took a cigarette and started to light it with a golden lighter, the man inhaled the cigarette slowly and exhaled the smoke out of his mouth and nose.

"As usual, I never tire of your mind reading technique Captain, and who are you boy?" The neatly haired man pointed at Luke with the cigarette still between his fingers.

"I'm Luke, the new recruit."

"New recruit?" The man frowned as he tilted his head to see Luke who was standing next to Daniel Verin.

"As usual, you never read the announcement or heard it, Kento." Verin replied as he walked towards a large table made of wood on which there was a computer along with various piles of books and papers.

Verin put Luke's assignment paper on top of the pile and maybe he would forget that he had put the letter there instead, maybe he forgot a lot of things because it looks like the pile of books and papers looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time.

"Okay, let's just shorten this introduction. I'm the captain of this team, the man sitting on the couch is named Kento and the two brothers are Charles and Charlotte."

"Once again nice to meet you all, I'm Luke Ainswald's new recruit." Once again Luke introduced himself and no one cared about his introduction. Was the introduction too mediocre that he did? After all, what did he expect with the people here? His only goal was to go outside the wall to find his little sister, so it seemed that he had deviated a bit from his behavior and instead seemed to be looking for friends.
