Ryan was starting to become increasingly distant from his wife, Stacy, and his kids.

This was due to the immense grief and anger he felt over the death of his beloved grandmother.

Ryan had been especially close to her since he was a child, so he found it hard to cope with her passing.

His inability to manage his emotions led him to become untalkative and avoidant of his family.

Stacy was understandably worried as she had never seen her husband act this way before.

She felt that Ryan was retreating further and further away from her, while she desperately wanted to help him work through his sadness and let go of his deep-rooted hurt.

However, Stacy's attempts at communication usually ended in arguments, with Ryan too overwhelmed and shutting off to open up.

"Dada" the baby called out from the baby monitor and Stacy hearing that thought maybe Ryan could have a change of heart or even have a melted soft spot by hearing his baby call his name first.

Rather he hissed and left the room.
