14. Daring Garelt

Chapter 14 – Daring Garelt

The red hound tiredly returned to the tavern after claiming their reward from the guild Hall which thankfully went out successful

“Heaven’s flame, I desperately want a nap.”

Roderick rushed over to the Inn manager who busily stared at a particular spot in the building

“Two days rent please.”

“I wouldn’t like it if you bring more people in here Rod-”

“Do you pay for the rents.” Roderick interrupted the words of the Inn manager who turned silent in respond to the disrespectful answer of Roderick

“No, anyways, five silver coin for a room per night. Whether you like it or not.” The man rolled his eyes fixating his gaze to a random activity that took place in the scenery

“Ahh, okay please, seven silver coin for a room in two night, please.”

“Negotiable, but, deal.” The man smiled handing the two keys over to Roderick in and exchange for seven clean silver coin.

“Not that I don’t trust you, but I have to be sure if the coin is fake.” The man instantly fixed one of the coin under his rough yellowish teeth and began to bite it lightly “Don’t mind me, it’s a real coin. Just go over to your various room number.”

“I can’t stay here, you know, I have a place in the crimson lake.” Apollo broke up the silent amongst the guild as they slowly walked through the pathway of the long corridor that housed different room

“I know, so you mean you’re leaving.”

“Yeah, my parents are step-sister will be very worried right now.”

“Oh,” Stella answered with a moody face “But how are you going to come back since Silvanir is specifically for elves.”

“Well, I have a badge permit.” Apollo laughed pointing to the glistening badge that settled on her shirt

“Well, bye.” Roderick blubbered as soon as he reached his room number, hastily opening it with the key and running directly to the bed before falling asleep

“Yeah, see you.”

“Good morning.” Roderick abruptly greeted Daniel who woke up from the bed and began to yawn out loudly

“Ah, good morning.” Daniel finally turned his gaze to Roderick only to realize he was doing some push-ups “Early morning exercise eh.”

“Yeah, why don’t you come join me.”

“Nah, I’ll pa-”

Daniel words were immediately cut short as a loud bang on the door was heard

“Stella?”

“Yeah, Apollo is here and she want some words with us.”

“Well, I haven’t taken my bath yet and Roderick is doing some exercise.” Daniel retorted jumping from his bed into the bathroom

“Well, we need to talk.” Apollo’s fragile voice echoed into the room causing Roderick to interrupt his training and open the door

“What’s the matter, you don’t sound like you.”

Stella and Apollo hesitantly walked into the room and sat on the comfy bed

“Please, no important conversation until I’m done bathing.” Daniel shouted from the bathroom followed by the dripping sound of the water bucket.

Finally after some couples of minutes, Daniel walked out of the bathroom, wearing the complete armour from the guild and the local metallic sword fixed in its sheath

“So, what was the important discussion.”

“Well, first of all, I am so sorry for disturbing you all this early morning but, I wanted help for something.” Apollo muttered with curled down lips while bowing her head to the spruce wooden flooring of the room

“You definitely look unhappy, so what’s the matter.”

“It’s all because of a friend, well, former friend.”

“Oh, you don’t need to be sad for the end of that friendship, I, Daniel and Roderick are always here to cheer you up.” Stella blurted out with a smile before placing her arms over Apollo’s shoulders

“It isn’t that, when I and the guy were friends he was excessively kind and friendly. But all of a sudden he is now very violent and oppressive, in fact, he’s a big bad bully.”

“And he took this stupid attitude to my younger sister, well step-sister.”

“Wait. I never knew you had a step sister.” Roderick interrupted with a jaw drop making her let out a scoff

“But she mentioned it yesterday, Roderick.” Stella tried to pull the trigger into Roderick memory

“Well, why would you know when you all know nothing about me, I only joined the guild due to curiosity and desperation to see the outside world. But anyways, about Garelt, I want to avenge my sister for his harassment and mishandling towards her. B-but I’m too weak against him and his gangs, so I need your help.”

Apollo suddenly began to stammer in her words before bursting into tears. Daniel on the other hand suddenly reminded himself of the beating he received from the popular town bullies in the past, creating a surge of emotion and understanding towards Apollo’s words.

But Roderick felt reluctant on involving himself into fight that involved other races and most of all was none of his concern, but nevertheless, he was hesitant in saying no to her first request from them

“Uhn, t-this is kind of hard since we’re fighting him underwater.”

“No-no-no, I’m going to draw him out...out of the water and then, maybe we could f-fight him.” Apollo quickly wiped her tears leaving the other the briefly think about it

STELLA

[So, Daniel what do you think. Outside race fights could be dangerous.]

DANIEL

[Well, I’ve been in her shoes before, so I kind of want to help out.]

STELLA

[Hoff. Like I would say no.]

Stella last words sounded frustrated obliging her helping hands to Apollo

“Okay.” Daniel finally broke the silence in the room. He immediately took in a deep sigh and continued “I and Stella agree in this, but we want you to fight along side with us, and no murder.”

“Of course, it isn’t the blood bath, I definitely agree.” Apollo burst out in happiness before turning to Roderick who still brainstormed the idea “What about you Roderick.”

“Uhmm, I-, uh okay, I’m going with you to the location of the fight, but ahm, I am not going to be involved in it.”

“What?” Stella turned pale, turning all her facial expression into that look of disappointment “But you have the exact ability to defeat him.”

A whole lot of thought came flooding into his head upon hearing the words of Stella which left him with a conclusion

“Okay, I’m not going to fight directly, but I’m going to be your emergency cover, in case of necessities.”

A cute exclamation escaped Apollo’s lips followed by a bright smile which made Roderick satisfied with his final decision “Thank you.”

“It’s a pleasure.”
