Chapter 27

Mr Morris' heart skipped a few beats while his eyes widened in shock.

He tried to mask his facial expression instantly, but wasn’t fast enough, and a bigger smirk tugged at Richardson’s lips knowingly.

“I- how did-” Mr Morris spluttered, stumbling over his words.

He had been thoroughly shocked just now after Richardson had referred to him with a name which he hadn’t heard in years. A name which he had desperately tried to bury.

“You’re not saying a thing.” Richardson pointed out.

Mr Morris spluttered once again, not knowing what to think.

Richardson barked out a mocking laugh after that. “Who knew you could ever be quiet? Huh?”

Mr Morris shifted his weight from foot to foot while clearing his throat.

“You should get y- your things and l- leave. Don’t b- bother to beg for an extension of t- the deadline, just take your stuff and g- go.”

Richardson snorted as he folded his hands. “Hold on, dear landlord. There’s no need for us to rush things now, is there?”
