I looked at Dani as she got off me, dusting herself off. "We need to go." Dani coughed as the smoke filled their lungs. I nodded and got up. "Where is Dak?" Ted asked, looking at Emmy. "He’s... gone." Emmy frowned and Ted began to cry. "Ted's friend is gone…" Ted hugged Emmy tightly.

It was beginning to get dark as we made our way to the explosion. "Get ready." Lucifer's claws shot up as she peeked around the corner, biters began to limp over. "Tsk. We have to handle these fuckers." Lucifer walked out, Dani and I quickly followed with Ted and Emmy in pursuit.

Back at the safe haven everyone was getting adjusted to their new home, they heard the explosion. Which startled most of the group. Annabelle looked at Rose. "I-I'm sorry, I need to find my sister." She hugged Rose. "Thank you for your time." She strapped her crossbow around her back as she walked off. "It's dangerous!" Rose warned her.

Ash heard the commotion and sighed. "I'll be back, okay?" He hugged Evelyn and ran over. "What seems to be the problem?" He looked at Rose and then at Annabelle. "Obviously they caused the explosion, or something like that. They're in trouble. We must go!" Annabelle looked at Ash. "Okay, okay… I'll come with you." Stalker went over. "I saw the explosion, it's in the direction they are at. It's nighttime now, but they are our friends…" Stalker grabbed his AK-47. "Our family." He corrected himself. "Stay here, brother." Stalker looked at Andrew, who nodded.

Bandy ran over. "I gathered some people, Maverick, Harper and Dash want to tag along." Jug went over. "You forgot about me!" He pouted and went over. Dash swung two katanas, though they were short. Harper had a shotgun and a spear strapped on her back. "I'm ready." Harper smiled, Finn went over and kissed Harper. "Stay alive, okay?" Finn smiled and Harper nodded, smiling. "I will, for the future." Harper turned to look at the others. "Alright… so. Where are we going?"

I pulled out my dual blades and sunk them into a biter, I turned around and ducked down, causing a runner to flip over me, Dani then shot the runner with her bow.

Emmy pulled out her pistol and shot the other ones, soon the street was cleared of biters. Their bodies on the street. I smiled and looked at everyone. "We did it."

A huge shadow eclipsed behind me, oh well. Was this it? Dani had a shocked expression, she was running towards me, and she was crying. Why was that? Why was everything feeling like it was in slow motion? I have so many questions.

They were big, and it reminded me of Mr. Waterworth. I call them breakers. I turned around and I saw its huge fist head straight towards me and collided with my stomach, I coughed out blood but that wasn't the worst part. My body flung right into the metal garage. I slumped over and pain filled my body. "CODY!" She aimed her arrow as the breaker stared at me and then turned its head to Dani, pus leaked down their bubbly body.

Lucifer's eyes widened as she ran straight towards the breaker, screaming as she jumped towards it, ready to gouge its eyes out. Instead, the most anti climactic thing happened, it grabbed Lucifer by the throat and threw her into the ground; though I am glad she wasn't dead because she got right back up, in a rage that I got hurt.

Both my back and chest were in agony, hell my whole body was. Dani rushed over to me, I felt like I was going to pass out. I couldn't breathe. "Hey, hey… Cody! Focus on me, okay?" A tear dribbled down her face, stop crying over me please, it hurts.

Lucifer swung at the breaker's back as it walked towards Emmy and Ted, the cement under the breaker's feet cracked; her claws only scrapped against the hardened bubbly skin, which did nothing to stop it. I watched as another breaker appeared. I lifted my hand up slowly and pointed at the second breaker. "Ru…n" was all I could make out, I faced one of them before and that was a challenge, now there are two.

Dani turned around and pulled an arrow out and aimed her bow, aiming it. "GO AWAY!" She screamed as she released the string, the arrow went straight towards the break but sadly beyond impact it broke into two, it fell on the ground. Please stop fighting, run.

I couldn't move, my whole body was sore. I am about to watch my friends die. The breaker swung one of their arms, knocking Lucifer into the ground as she rolled around and landed near me. She tried to stand up, she was shaking and exhausted. "I need… to protect… what's mine…" Lucifer's eyes glew red as she stood up, I don't know if her hair was moving due to the wind or if it was moving cause her eyes were glowing red due to her rage.

I looked at Lucifer, blood ran down my mouth. Dani grabbed a hold of me and helped me up. "Come on, please…" her voice cracked up as if she was about to burst out in tears. I looked at her, I was beginning to breathe properly again; however, it was slow. I breathed in and out.

Lucifer's legs wobbled as she slowly went towards the breaker. "You fuckers killed everyone I loved. You won't kill anymore." She growled. "Stop… fighting." I looked at Lucifer, who just ignored me. How rude, you're going to get yourself beaten to death.

Lucifer grabbed at the legs of the breaker that was heading towards Emmy and Ted, trying her best to slow it down as the second one charged, and body checked her away and into a car. "Ted run!" Emmy shoved Ted away as the breaker charged towards them. Ted began to cry and started to run. Emmy turned around and aimed her gun, putting her finger on the trigger.

Ted turned around; his heart began to beat fast. He stood there as his blood began to boil.

Emmy shot the breaker in the eye, causing it to scream in pain and back up. Emmy shot it in the chest, but the bullet pounced off. The breaker swung its arm, hitting Emmy. Emmy went flying into the air and landed on the concrete, wincing.

Dani stopped and stared at the two breakers as they began to walk over to both me and her. She rested me down and sat in front of me. "I'm sorry that I couldn't help you." She sighed. "It's fine…" I winced, I have gathered my breathing, surprisingly.

Evelyn went over to Rose and sat down. "I'm worried about them…" she sighed; Rose looked at her. "I am as well, my childhood friend is out there, either dead or alive!" Rose looked away. "And I'm here… doing absolutely fucking nothing, like always."

Evelyn patted Rose. "You know what we can do. Here, climb on my back." She stood up and then kneeled. Rose raised an eyebrow. "But-" Evelyn looked at her. "Just do it." She sighed and climbed on Evelyn's back slowly, Evelyn then found the way on top of the roof, she climbed up the ladder and opened the latch as she stood on the roof and sat down, Rose sat next to her. "Ready?" Evelyn smiled and stood up, putting both of her hands on both sides of her cheeks. "FIGHT!"

Rose smiled and stood up, joining the chant as they repeated fight over and over again.

"Cody. There is something I have to tell you." Dani grabbed both of my hands, I looked at her and then at the breakers, who were inching closer and closer by the second. I looked at her again. "I-…" she looked at the breakers. Come on, spit it out. We're about to die anyways, there is no point to hide whatever you're hiding now.

"I…" Dani's cheeks were red. "I-" she was interrupted by a bear who jumped over them, I looked up as the bear landed in front of us and stood on its feet and grabbed one of the breakers by the hands and began to push it back.

Emmy looked over and winced. "So you did it huh… inner beast..." she smiled, a glimmer of hope began to shine through her body, though she was dead anyways. She was proud that Ted unlocked his inner beast.

Ted looked at the other breaker as the one he had in his grasp was trying to fight back. Ted roared and dragged the breaker in front of the other one, the breaker punched the other one, causing it to stumble back, pus and blood flew everywhere.

Soon enough we saw Annabelle, Stalker, Bandy, Maverick, Ash, Jug and two other people I didn't recognize. "Harper, Dash. Help them!" Bandy yelled. Harper ran over to me and Dani. "You two alright?" Harper kneeled over, Dani wiped the tears away, her cheeks were still red. "Yeah…"

I nodded; Dani shot a glare. "He's not okay, he got punched by them." Dani looked over at Ash who ran over. "Who's that?" He looked over at the bear. "That's Ted." I replied, wincing.

"Oh god, Emmy!" Jug ran over, seeing that she was bitten. "I'm okay." Emmy stood up. "Join the fight against these fuckers."

Another biter limped over but it was dressed weirdly, they were in all black with a hood on, covering their identity. They looked down. "I'm killing this fucker." Maverick walked over as the breakers were distracted by Ted.

"I have a bad feeling about this." Stalker aimed his gun at the biter, closing one of his eyes. Maverick swung his baseball bat, ready to attack. The biter took off it's hood and smiled, showing its rotten yellow teeth. It opened its mouth and screamed as loud as it could. Stalker's eyes widened and he shot the screamer in the head.

The screamer dunked it's head back and fell on it's knees before falling face first. There was a pause, even the breakers and Ted paused and looked around, the breakers were startled.

Lucifer went over to us. "Lucifer!" Bandy ran over. "Shh!" Dani hissed and aimed her bow. "I got this." Dash grabbed his binoculars and zoomed in, his eyes widened. "Oh fuck…" within seconds runners began to show up and the fight continued.

Ted dodged the first breaker and swung his fist, punching the breaker in the face.

"We got this… isn’t that, right?" Stalker shot a runner. Stalker went over and left his hand out for me to grab, I grabbed it and he pulled me out; I will ask Dani what she meant later, now isn't the time.

I looked over at the herd. "We got this?!" I smiled and pulled out my dual blades. "We got this… as a family…" Stalker looked around for Dak, then he looked at me, I shook my head and he frowned. "Let's kill these bitches!" Bandy aimed his rifle and pulled the trigger.
