GOLD UNDERNEATH

Unable to get over his parents death, Jake returned back to the restaurant. Even though the police claimed that they were looking for their murders, he knew better. They had not even found the handkerchief that was near the door. But who exactly did it belong to?

“Hello. Are you the son of the owners of this place?" Jake heard a middle aged woman say as she came into the restaurant.

Standing up from his chair, Jake nodded his head slowly wondering what she wanted. She didn't look like anyone dangerous since ehe was dressed in a corporate outfit.

“Yes, I am their son. Jake Moss. Who are you?" Jake asked as he used his arm to clean his face.

“ I am from the bank. Your parents are now gone therefore you should vacate this place as soon as possible.” Jake heard the middle aged woman say.

“ What do you mean by that? This place belongs to my parents." Jake argued.

" No. It belongs to Abraham Fisher. This building is a property of the Fisher family therefore you should leave as soon as possible.” The middle aged woman said.

“ Abraham Fisher is my father-in-law. He gave this place to my parents. It was their own." Jake said.

" The building is still in the name of Abraham Fisher. Therefore, he can do whatever he wants. Please vacate the place before Wednesday.” Jake heard the woman say before leaving.

Putting all the books he had been arranging back into the box, Jake headed out the Fisher family mansion angrily. Just as he was about to enter though, he was stopped.

“ Sir, you cannot enter." The guards said as they tried to hold Jake back.

He knew everyone was inside because he had seen their cars. Although they were business men and women, they hardly handled anything on their own.

“ Sir, I said you cannot-"

" You monsters! You promised me! You said you were going to take care of my family! You said you had given my family the restaurant. Why are you taking it back?” Jake asked screaming on the top of his lungs.

Meanwhile, Kenneth looked through the window gazing at Jake who was still scramming. He knew his father was also watching it from his study. Heading up the stairs, Kenneth went into his father's study smiling as he confirmed his suspicion.

“ At this rate, he might attract the press. We have to stop him. He's shouting." Kenneth said as he watched his father shake his head.

“ Let him scream. Where is Juliet right now?” Abraham asked as he looked at his son.

“She should be with Khloe. What? Are you planning on trying use her to threaten Jake? Khloe is not going to allow you use her child." Kenneth said as he watched his father leave his table heading out.

Going into Khloe's room, Abraham opened his door not caring about what could be going on inside. Spotting Khloe sleeping, Abraham could help but be happy at the scene. Juliet was also asleep on Khloe's laps but this was no obstacle to him. Khloe wouldn't have time to defend her daughter so quickly. Glancing at the bodyguards he had come with, Abraham waited as he watched the guards head over to Khloe.

“Whst are you doing? Father!” Khloe asked as she stood up hearing Juliet scream.

Standing up immediately, Khloe tried to go after the men carrying her daughter but stopped as Abraham slapped her hard across the face.

“ Don't even think of following me." Abraham said harshly before walking away leaving Khloe on the ground.

Khloe stood up immediately trying once more to go after her father. However, the doors suddenly closed in her face locking her inside.

“Father! Father, please!” Khloe shouted but Abraham didn't care at all.

Meanwhile, Jake had no idea at all about what was happening. When the doors opened in front of him, Jake finally saw his opportunity. He was just about to go and meet Abraham when he saw Juliet.

“Jake, what do you think you are doing? Why are you making a scene in front of the entire neighborhood?" Abraham asked in a calm voice which made him look even more despicable.

He was holding Juliet hostage to remind him to behave yet he was talking so calmly as if he was not doing anything. Clenching his hand, Jake decided to stay calm.

“Khloe told me that you had given the restaurant to my parents. She said she opened it for them. They are barely underneath, why are you try to take it back now?” Jake asked.

“ I did give the restaurant to them. It was in exchange for your help and your silence. However, you not only crashed Khloe's wedding and forced your way inside, you also humiliated us in front of the entire world. You have already broken the agreement first.” Abraham said making Jake angry.

“ You are really a heartless monster. You and your family didn't come for the burial. I didn't hold it against you. I had no hope that you'd show up. Yet you want to take away the only thing that my parents loved. They loved that restaurant!” Jake shouted.

“ Be careful, Jake. You might startle Juliet. My lawyer has already come to see you. Just do as she says so that we can all live our lives in peace. And don't even think of showing up here again." Abraham said as he placed his hand on Juliet's tiny shoulders forcing her inside.

He couldn't help but feel some sort of strange anger burning inside him. Instead of fighting for himself, the only thing he could do was to cry. The Fisher family had taken everything from him.

“ What are you doing walking on the side of the road? So this is where you were." Alexa said as she came down from her car after seeing Jake walking around on foot.

His shirt already looked worn out and his feet was white showing he had walked a long time. Coming out of her car, Alexa walked up to him suprised as she saw his tear filled face. It was obvious he had been crying.

“ This is why the Fisher family wants to take back the land. The government is discovering that gold mines are showing up underneath some places. I noticed when I was at the restaurant. Someone had dug the land at the back. Although they had tried to cover it up, it was impossible that they could do it so well." Alexa said as she showed Jake the article she had seen on her laptop.

Looking at the article, Jake scoffed as he continued to read it. Suddenly, it dawned on him.

“ Could this be-?” Jake asked as he turned to look at Alexa who was also thinking the same thing.

“ Could it be the reason why your parents were killed? Is that what you are thinking?” Alexa asked making Jake shake his head.

It couldn't be. Everyone had been at the house that day. And he had seen them at the party. Unless they had paid someone to do the dirty work. Was it really possible?

“ It would make sense. Abraham suddenly wants you to move out.” Alexa said.

Arriving at the restaurant, Jake came down from Alexa's car immediately to look around if his guess was indeed right, he needed evidence. Looking up at the polls around, Jake finally spotted several cameras around.

“Don't even think you can rely on them. The person that did it must have already removed them." Alexa said as she came down.

“ Then someone car dash camera. This is driving me crazy. Just how do I find the evidence?” Jake said bending down as he placed both of his hands on his head.

“ First, let's stop them from taking the restaurant. My best guess is that the Fisher family will act when we do.” Alexa said making Jake look at her.

Leaving the cafe the next day, Jake walked behind Alexa glancing at her. He had no idea what she was up to. The lawyer had already told him that the restaurant was still in the Fisher family name. Was there truly a way to beat them?

“ What are you doing? You said I still had some days.” Jake said talking to the Fisher family lawyer that had gone to see him before.

She had brought people over to start moving things out of the restaurant. Seeing the chairs and tables outside made him angry.

“ Yes but you have made no movement in doing as asked so I have no choice. I have order from the court." Jake heard the woman say as she brought out a piece of paper.

Snatching it from her hand, Jake tore it up immediately.

“Mr. Moss, that won't change anything. The court will have another copy. All I need to do is to go and ask for one." The female lawyer said with a laugh.

“ Miss-?” Alexa asked as she stepped up.

“ Reign."

" Mrs Reign, you should at least give him some time to find a place to keep them. Although you have the court order, you are going against your word. Besides, we don't know if the deed you have your possession is real. Till we settle this in court, you should not act like this.” Alexa said.

“ You want to take it to court?"

" Of course. How do we know that you are not playing a fast one on us? Only the court can decide that. That your deed is real.” Alexa said with a huge smile making Jake gasp.
