When he returned to his place that night he was glad to have the time to call his mother on the phone.

This was not something he could discuss with her over the phone though, so he only asked her when she would be returning. She replied to him that she would be back before Sir Brooks' burial was scheduled to be held and he agreed with her.

She has to come back and explain something to him. And tell him how she had kept his real identity secret for so long.

And then he called Anthony. There was something he needed him to do for him.

“Hello, Anthony,” he said into the phone. He still couldn't believe he had such access to this man who he had respected from afar over the last few years when he had worked for Sir Brooks.

“Yes, Anthony at your service, young master.”

Adrian still felt weird about the name but he would let it be. “You say I am the master of everyone at Castle and Castle and that my word is law?”

There was no hesitation on the other end. “Yes, of course it is.”

Adrian nodded, even though he knew Anthony couldn't see him. “Then there is something I need you to do for me.”

“Anything at all, young master.”

“There is a supermarket I would like to buy. I have it under good knowledge that the owner has been wanting to sell,” Adrian smiled slowly as he remembered Laura's words. This was going to be sweet, sweet revenge.

“Yes, what would you like to happen, young master?”

“Since I get groceries there regularly and my farm produces too, I would not like anything to change there. And so I would like to buy it.” He thought about it for a moment.

“Consider it done, young master.”

Adrian smirked. That really was how easy it was to get them on their knees.

“I also have another thought.” he continued saying to Anthony. “Since I cannot continue meeting you frequently at Castle and Castle without arousing suspicion, I suggest that this supermarket becomes our new meeting place. We can convert a space there into an office and meet up there.”

“Hmmm, that is an even better reason, young master. Indeed you are wise beyond your peers, just like Sir Brooks said you were. I will get on it immediately.”

Adrian cut the call, and Anthony's words kept ringing in his ears.

He was wise beyond his peers, just like Sir Brooks had said.

He really owed Sir Brooks a lot..he owed him his whole life now. And he would protect his legacy with his own hardwork and cunning.

He would also protect his family. Just until they found out the truth behind Sir Brooks poisoning. And hopefully, he will wake up soon.

Adrian sat in the new and renovated office in the supermarket. He had come in early and was now sitting behind the desk, waiting for all the employees to start work for the day.

They had all been informed about the new owner and Adrian knew they would all come bearing gifts, probably hoping he would retain them, instead of firing all of them and recruiting new staff like some new owners liked to do. The old owner was there to introduce him to the workers.

He was sitting there before he decided against it and went outside. As he reached the first counter, the door of the supermarket opened and he saw Sandra and her lover, Peniel walk in.

He was holding an envelope that looked full in his hand. Adrian smiled.

Sandra caught sight of Adrian and distaste colored her eyes. She turned up her nose at him. “What are you doing here? No matter what you say, I will never get back together with you, you lowlife pauper.”

The old owner, a middle aged man rushed to them with a shocked look on his face. Sandra saw him and began to smile at him, but the man only had eyes for Adrian.

“Oh, God. Forgive her Sir, she isn't in her right senses. Sandra, what are you doing, insulting your new boss?”

Sandra gasped, her face turning white with consternation as she knew she had messed up big time. This couldn't possibly be happening to her, she thought.

There was no way Adrian was her new boss. He simply was too poor to have been able to do that.

“But…but…” she stuttered as her lover also had a surprised look on his face.

The old owner bowed before Adrian as he apologized and he waved at Sandra. “Come here and kneel and beg him now, if you want your job!”

He glanced around the room, noting the tense expressions on the faces of the board members and family members who had been summoned to this urgent meeting. Whispers filled the air, speculation running rampa

Adrian’s heart was still pounding from the chaos inside the mansion when he rushed outside to find Blinks. The evening air was cool against his flushed skin, but there was a heaviness in his chest that wouldn’t go away. Adrian called out as he jogged toward him, the urgency in his voice undeniable. "What’s going on?"Blinks turned to him, his face a mask of grim determination. He quickly ended the call and slipped his phone into his pocket. "We’ve got a serious problem, Adrian," he said, his voice low and tense. "Lazzaro’s gone desperate. Mr. Shin just sent word from the Black community—Lazzaro’s put a hit out on you. A group of assassins is on their way right now."Adrian felt a cold chill race down his spine. "Assassins? Here?"Blinks nodded, his expression hardening. "Yeah, and they’re no

"I know you have a lot of questions. I owe you some answers."Adrian’s gaze remained fixed on the windshield, his jaw clenched. "You think?" he muttered, his tone sharp. "Why didn’t you tell me you were my father? Why let my mother suffer all these years? Why leave us in the dark?"Mr. Brooks sighed, rubbing his temples as if trying to ease the guilt that had been gnawing at him for years. "I wanted to protect you, Adrian.
