His throat tightened, a lump forming as he thought of Lola’s sacrifices—how she would work her fingers to the bone, shielding him from a truth too heavy for a child.
So this was it? This was why she never talked about his parents. Why she never allowed him to go to a public school until he was 10. Why she kept changing his name.
Serena leaned forward slightly, her blue eyes softening with a flicker of empathy. “Your parents searched for years, but Lola was clever. She kept you off their radar, raising you as her own. The Wang family’s wealth grew, but their anger did too—they saw her as a thief, stealing their heir.”
“When your parents died in a mysterious crash ten years ago, the family blamed Lola, claiming she’d cursed them by defying Xue Wang.”
Gary’s chest ached, a sharp pang of grief for parents he’d never known. He’d always thought they abandoned him, but now, hearing that they were even willing to sacrifice him, their own son? And Lola, blamed for it all?
His hands clenched into fists, his knuckles whitening. “Why didn’t she tell me?” he whispered, his voice raw with a mix of anger and sorrow. “All those years… she let me think I was nothing; she suffered while she had wealth piled up somewhere!”
“She wanted to protect you,” Serena said gently, her tone like a soft hand on his shoulder. “The Wang family never stopped looking. They hired people—dangerous people—to track you down. And even now, they still are.”
Gary’s jaw tightened, his heart pounding as the pieces fell into place. “You keep calling me Master,” he said, his voice low, almost a growl. “What does that mean? What am I to these people?”
Serena straightened, her expression shifting to one of quiet pride. “You’re the last true heir of the Wang bloodline, Mr. Wang. The first son who survived the ritual’s curse. Your father left everything to you in his will when he realized that he would never find you—a fortune so vast it makes the Lancasters and every other human look like they’re begging for scraps.”
“But more than that, you’re the one meant to lead the Wang family, to carry its legacy because your father never had any other child. That’s why we saved you. That’s why I’m here. We have been looking for you for many years. Many mistresses like me have come and gone, but to no avail.”
Gary stared at her, his mind racing. A fortune? A legacy? Him—the man who’d scrubbed floors, taken slaps, and caught his wife with another man—was supposed to lead a dynasty?
He wanted to laugh, to call it a sick joke, but the weight in Serena’s eyes told him this was real. His fingers brushed the sheets again, the silk a reminder of the world he’d been thrown into.
“What about Lola, my grandmother?” he asked, his voice breaking with worry. “Is she really safe? I need to see her right now.”
Serena nodded, a small smile touching her lips. “She’s here, in this hospital. Her surgery was successful—Doctor Montague oversaw it himself. She’s resting now, but you can see her soon. I promise.”
Relief washed over Gary, warm and heavy, loosening the knot in his chest. Lola was alive. She’d made it. But the fire inside him didn’t die—it grew, fueled by the thought of Kage, Evelyn, and the Lancasters who’d crushed him for years.
Gary leaned back against the pillows, his heart still racing but steadier now. He was alive, Lola was safe, and for the first time, he felt a spark of power—a promise of revenge that burned brighter than his pain. The worthless son-in-law was gone. Master Wang was waking up.
Gary lay back down, staring at the chandelier above him. Was this real? His life had changed in the blink of an eye. He found it hard to believe that all of this was happening. Does this mean he was now rich? Wealthy? And he could finally have his revenge on all of his enemies?
“I will leave you now, Master Wang. The Doctor said you should be fine in a few days as long as you get some rest. In the meantime, sir, there are some documents you have to sign to claim total ownership of all of your empire, including this hospital!” Serena said gently, pulling out her tablet and a smart pen.
“What do you mean ‘this hospital’?” Gary asked, drawing his signature on the screen, slowly but firmly.
“Yes, Master Wang. Asclepius Wing belongs to you, and Doctor Montague works for you as the manager.
Gary handed back the tablet to Serena, still finding it hard to believe his eyes and ears. “Tell me, Serena, just how wealthy was my father?” he asked.
“No, Master Wang. The question isn’t ‘how wealthy your father was’, but ‘how wealthy you are.’” She stood up and carved a smile on her face.
“And you are about to find out.” she ended with a smirk.
“Show me all.” Gary responded. “All of it!”

The car tore through the night like a bullet searching for purpose. Its engine roared against the silence of Nirvana, but inside the cabin, it was deathly still. Miles sat crumpled in the seat, shivering violently. His eyes were wide but vacant, lips pale. The voltage had nearly fried his nervous system. “He’ll be okay, Master,” said Langston’s voice from the front. Calm. Mechanical. One of the many assistants Gary had on-call. Gary didn’t look at him. “Well, he better be,” Gary said quietly, “or it’ll be you on a hospital bed. Hooked to a goddamn drip.” Shen fell silent. Gary’s jaw tightened. His knuckles whitened around the steering wheel. His mind was a whirlwind. The silence wasn’t empty—it was heavy. Heavy with all the things he should have done. Should have said. Should have been. His grandfather had warned him. You can’t outrun your blood, son. And oh, how he tried. He ran from the island. From the name. From the empire. He thought this was it. Return home, live a hap

Chapter 182: "Please, Galy"
It was easy to believe. It all made sense why he felt a thing for the young man, the very first day he saw him at a restaurant. Gary had sworn to mind his business and not interfere with issues that did not concern him. But that day, seeing the young man being treated like trash, he knew he had to do something. He couldn’t bring himself to watch Miles get beat. Fast forward to today, he was hearing this? He needed to get to the root of this. But again, his grandmother was still there, in the aircraft. They needed to go home. Now, Miles was getting ready for his final attack. He curled his fist. “But I found out that you, your fucking grandfather and your whole sick empire have been lying to the world. You’re all monsters. Playing gods with people’s lives. And you—Galy—you just stood there. You let her die! You let my mother die!” Gary stood slowly, his jaw bruised, blood on his lip, his chest heaving from the blow. But his eyes remained calm. “Miles, listen to me…” “No! No, shu
Chapter 181: A Boy Called Revenge
Gary jogged past the hangar edge, down the terminal corridor, cold steel walls racing past in a blur. Then he turned the corner. And stopped. Blood. So much blood. It stained the white tiles like spilled ink. A trail of crimson dragged along the wall. And in the middle of it was the young man…. Miles. Soaked. Wild-eyed. Panting like an animal backed into a corner. His shirt torn, his fists raw. Blood—some fresh, some dried—covered his forearms like war paint. And at his feet, three guards. Maybe four. It was hard to count them in the twisted way their bodies fell. Miles looked up. Their eyes locked. Gary almost didn’t recognize him. The last time he saw the kid was at the bunker months ago. When he saved him and other kids. He felt a special connection then, something fatherly, protective. He even put him in one of his mansions in Hong Kong to be treated. That was the end of the boy's story—or so he thought. But the boy before him now? This wasn’t that Miles. This was someon
Chapter 180: Finally Over!?
Oftentimes in life, we are faced with situations that force us to make choices. Good or bad. Wrong or right. Just or unfair. It’s easy. Choices like those are easy. They’re subjective, relative. You follow your gut, your conscience, or your God—whatever holds your compass. You’re a good man, you take the right. You’re a bad woman, you walk into the wrong for selfish reasons or otherwise. But what happens when you stand at the crossroads and the signposts are blank? There are no rights. No wrongs. No north. No south. Just fog. And silence. The kind of silence that wraps around your throat like a velvet rope—soft, but choking. You look down both paths and realize… either one will cost you something. Either one will leave you with blood on your hands. That was where Gary stood. Not as a billionaire. Not as a Wang. Not as a savior. But as a man. A grandson. And—somehow—the last hope of a woman whose name had become a whisper in his heart. Mei Lin. He hadn’t said it aloud yet. I
