He caught sight of her on the staircase and she beckoned him with her index finger, prompting him to hurry towards her. In a frenzy, he darted towards her, his heart racing with excitement and anticipation

"Why did it take you so long?" he lamented as he followed her up the stairs, but his words caught in his throat as he witnessed a horrifying sight.

His girlfriend's pants were pulled down, and a man she had repeatedly claimed was just a friend was pounding her from behind, while she writhed in ecstasy. He arrived just as the man was climaxing inside her.

He whispered Lyra's name in shock and disbelief, unable to muster the strength to speak any louder. Hot, salty tears welled up in his eyes, and he struggled to contain his emotions. A sharp pain pierced his chest, leaving him frozen for a few moments.

"I told you she was having fun," Lucinda sneered mockingly, watching the scene with excitement. Alonso couldn't bear to watch any longer, and he rushed down the stairs to catch his breath. Lyra followed him, but instead of apologizing, she attacked him.

"What the hell are you doing here, Alonso?" Lyra demanded, completely forgetting about their plans and the fact that he had helped her secure the house.

"Is that all you have to say?" he asked, his voice weak and trembling. "What do you want me to say?" Lyra retorted, her tone sharp and defensive.

"We had plans for a date today, and I come to this...let's forget the party. What did I just witness, and isn't that James?" He struggled to maintain his composure, grappling with a swirl of emotions.

"Oops...he's finally caught on to their affair," a feminine voice whispered from the background.

"If I were Lyra, I would choose James a million times over that wretched bastard," another voice snickered as they walked past, barely concealing their amusement.

As Alonso stood frozen in disbelief, he suddenly became aware of the apartment's hushed silence. Everyone was staring at him, taking videos of the scene, but he paid them no mind.

"Lyra, I'm sorry. Please forgive me if I've wronged you in any way," he pleaded, dropping to his knees in a shameful display of desperation. He was willing to forget everything he had witnessed and start anew, but Lyra was unfazed.

"Stop embarrassing me. Let's break up. I have a better man now. I was only dating you out of pity," she taunted, giving James a peck on the cheek as he adjusted his trousers.

"The lady has made her choice, now get lost," James sneered as he shoved Alonso to the ground and turned to take a swig of his drink, using the bottle to douse Alonso in a mocking baptism.

The onlookers cheered and recorded the spectacle, relishing in the drama unfolding before them.

Alonso's heart was wracked with pain as if he were having a heart attack. He couldn't fathom how someone he loved and devoted himself to could betray him so callously. He had given Lyra his all and couldn't comprehend where things went wrong.

As he thought of losing her, his heart raced with fear and dread. She was his world, the one person who healed the wounds left by the death of his father. Losing her would be unbearable.

"Here's your gift. I'm sure you'll love it," he said, reaching into his pocket and producing a small box, hoping to win her back.

"I can get you more, just please don't leave me," he begged, his heart racing as she took the gift from him.

Lyra took her time to unwrap the present, her eyes widening in surprise as she revealed a delicate gold necklace that she had always admired but couldn't afford.

“It’s beautiful but I can't accept this, it's too cheap and the stone is too tiny” she sad

“You can't blame him, that is the only thing he can afford” someone echoed

“It's as tiny as his destiny” another yelled, and the whole crowd burst into laughter

Alonso became overwhelmed and agitated and without thinking rushed to James and gave him a blow and a fight ensued between them

Lyra quickly rushed and called in James’ guard and they rushed to the scene and pulled Alonso away forcefully. They hit him so hard that he could barely feel his bones, shortly after, he was handed over to the police

"Is that how it ends?" Alonso thought to himself as he sat in the back of the police car, handcuffed and heartbroken. He replayed the events of the evening in his mind, trying to figure out where he went wrong.

As he watched Lyra and James disappear from view, his mind raced with questions. How could she betray him like this? Had he not given her everything he had? And James, the man he had thought was his friend, had punched him in the face and started a brawl.

Alonso's heart was heavy with pain and confusion. He had worked so hard to build a life with Lyra, to provide for her and make her happy. And yet, she had thrown it all away for a man with more money and better connections.

As the police car pulled up to the station, Alonso couldn't help but feel like his life was over. He had lost everything he cared about in a single night, and he didn't know how he would ever recover.

Alonso's heart sank as he realized the gravity of the situation. The apartment he had worked so hard to get, the woman he had loved so deeply, everything had crumbled before his eyes. He felt a silent rage boiling inside him, but also an overwhelming sense of despair.

As he was taken to the police station, his pain only intensified. His joints ached with every step, and he couldn't tell if it was from the beatings he had received or from the weight of his own emotions.

Finally, he was locked up in a small room, where he waited for what felt like an eternity. Eventually, a stern-faced officer walked in and addressed him.

"You must be Alonso, the troublemaker," the officer said in a tone that dripped with contempt. "You've been charged with a series of crimes, and your bail is five thousand dollars. Pay up or spend the rest of the year behind bars."

Alonso's mind raced as he tried to come up with a plan. He didn't have that kind of money, and he couldn't bear the thought of spending a year in jail. But what choice did he have? He had hit James, after all, and he knew there would be consequences

With a heavy heart, he muttered his answer. "I don't have the money. I'll have to stay in jail."

The officer nodded and left the room, leaving Alonso alone with his thoughts. As he sat there, he couldn't help but wonder how his life had come to this. It seemed like only yesterday he had been full of hope and ambition, but now he was a broken man, facing a bleak future behind bars.
