There was no moment to doubt.

“Okay, thank you.” Quinn took the key and Vaughan stepped out of the dungeon.

After that fight, it was like his mind had been rewired.

There was no explanation for someone like him to be afraid of the Rodriguez family.

The White Soldiers would do just fine without their sponsorship.

Quinn opened the door of the cage and he walked out.

“Bell. Can you hear me?”

Quinn said the moment he stepped out of the cage.

Bell materialised and gave him a nod.

“I couldn't come out.”

“It's fine. Let's get out of here.” Quinn said.

The pathway through the dungeon was dark and the voices of guards echoed in every area.

Bell pinched Quinn's sleeve as they hid in the corners.

“You have something?” Quinn looked down, and then a black hole appeared under them.

“Okay, let's do this.”

With a nod, they fell into the dark hole.

Quinn landed softly, and he looked around.

“Bell. Where are you?”

Darkness covered everywhere around him and for a moment, he thought he had gone blind.

“Here.” Her soft voice echoed behind him, and in that moment, a bright light shone from above them.

“The shadow element.” Quinn said when he could see their location from above.

They were still in that corner, but somehow, it was easy to move within those shadows.

“Take us out, Bell.” Quinn ordered and instantly, the scenes changed.

For a moment, different images flashed in Quinn’s eyes as they moved from the inner halls of the dungeons and then outside the gate.

“The shadow element is very useful.” Quinn commented, but he wondered if it would have the same effect in broad daylight.

“Take us out of the city, Bell, and then we can find out our next destination.” Quinn said, and soon enough they were outside.

Vaughan looked outside the window of his office.

If anyone found out he had a hand in the escape of a city-known prisoner, he could have his office revoked.

But that wasn't the point now. What mattered was the absence of guilt.

Stading outside the city gate, Quinn was filled with a storm of emotions.

He was going to prove every single one of them wrong.

***********

On the other side of the city, Rhys held his fiancée close to him.

“We have to make sure he pays, baby.” Lena grumbled, lifting her body to place a kiss on Rhys’ face.

Rhys chuckled, before his face turned into a frown as he stared at his hand.

“He’d definitely pay, I swear on my blood.” Rhys answered.

“And once you get his summon, you'd enter the Golden Knight Academy. Then you can win, isn't that right, baby?” Lena asked, leaning closer into him.

Rhys smiled, using his hand to undress her loose clothes. “You are absolutely right, my love. I'd become a Golden Knight and then we can finally get married.”

It was a cold night, and Quinn walked down the merchant's route, towards the rival city, Archtis.

It was known as the Beggars’ arm, due to the amount of beggars present each morning.

Due to his wealthy background and before he was disowned, Quinn had gone through this route with his father multiple times.

The Beggars’ arm was split into three parts, and he had picked the safest one.

Although it was popularly used, it was known for a high death rate.

The dense forest on each sides on the road was home to various scary monsters.

But Quinn couldn't feel any threat.

“Is it because of Bell?” He turned back to his summon, who was walking behind him.

He was about to say something when he heard it.

It was the sound of a horn.

“A Prisoner has escaped! A Prisoner has escaped!”

It was the alarm used anytime a criminal was loose.

All the times of watching it being used, Quinn never thought it would be used for him.

“Follow me, Bell.”

He said, and ran ahead, taking a detour into the forest, and ditching the path.

In no time, the roars of beast echoed as soldiers released their monsters in search of the escapee.

“Bell, shadow escape.”

The dark hole appeared, swallowing him instantly.

Staying back to fight that number of beasts would be very much detrimental.

Quinn didn't think Bella could handle it.

“Listen to my direction.” He said, guiding her to move into the forest.

His decision was to fight fire with fire.

And just like he planned, the beasts went after his scent.

The shadow movement was enough to hide him, but these were summons built for such kind of business.

Bell wasn't able to fully hide his presence.

“Turn into the forest, Bell and lose them. Then we go through the other path.”

Quinn said, biting down on his lips.

The only reason these people were so adamant on finding him was because of his summon.

“Don't release the shadow escape, Bell. I know you are tired but we have company.”

Right behind him, were the chasing summons owned by soldiers.

And now in front of him, were Dark Wolves.

With their sharp, porcupine like furs, these wolves were known for roaming in the dark and worst of all, they always went in packs.

“Just as planned. Take a corner around the wolves Bell, and let's head to the other route.”

Bell nodded and did exactly what he said.

Soon enough they were safe

And just then, a caravan was passing through the route.

“Take us there, Bell.” Quinn said. And they snuck into the back side of the caravan.

Quinn stared into the distance.

The howling of wolves filled the air, and it was enough to tell him everything about what transpired.

Quinn already knew that was the best option. There was no way he could go down there by himself. The best course of action was always with a team.“Yes. Meet us here by night, and then we'd set on our way.” Asterion said and then he turned around.Quinn nodded and went back to the serving lady.“I have accepted the job.” He said. The serving lady looked at him and then shook her head.“Kid, you have a good life in front of you. Why would you choose to waste it just like that? I thought after seeing the job description, you would choose not to go.”She said to him. The dungeons were dangerous places, and so many people never came out of there alive. And this young man was willing to step into that place.“I need money so I can get into the tournament and win it. That's how best my life can be of use, by being a golden knight, and I would do everything in my power to achieve that.” Quinn said.“Sure kid, but

“Okay, you are qualified.” The guards said and the large gates were opened. The large bands of caravan entered into the massive city.“Where are we going?” Quinn asked one of the merchants as soon as they were far from the guards.“The city market Square. The reason why so many merchants are moving to Archtis is becoming of the upcoming Tournament to decide who would take the golden spots.” The man replied him.“The Golden Spots? What's that about?”“The emperor gives out two separate slots for the Archtis President to fill with two people worthy enough to be Golden Knights. This is because of how much Archtis has contributed to the war against the demon beasts and nightmares.” The caravan had already reached market square, and the merchants started to offload their goods.“So due to that, most people come from neighbouring city just to get a chance, and since the Archtis President see it as a way to increase the city's pocket, he turned it into a tournament.”Quinn was speechless bu

The bumps along the road weren't much of a bother.“We picked the right caravan. They are heading to Archtis.” Quinn said, hiding quietly in a corner, while hoping no one would find him.He had gotten this hint from their conversation. The journey went on smoothly, with a few bumps here and there.Until it came to a stop. From the back seat of the caravan, Quinn peered out of the window. There was no building in sight, which meant only one explanation.“Get ready to fight, Bell.”The sounds of bullets echoed in the dawn of the day.“Even the guards we paid for are useless.”“Who would have thought we would meet renowned Mountain Bandits?”“We don't have anything, please spare our lives.”The merchants tried to beg but it was fruitless.“Shut up! We know what you are carrying in those things. Our informant would never mislead us. And if you think you can decieve us, be ready to die.” A burly man swung a sword, resting it on his shoulders. Then he chuckled, moving the stick he held in h

“You see! It's exactly as my grandson said. He's using forbidden arts!” An elderly man stepped out from the crowd. The judge's face paled. This was the Patriarch of the Rodriguez Family. There was no way the judge could offend the second greatest family in the city, next to the king.“Patriarch, please, to what do we owe the honour of your visit.” The Judge rushed to Patriarch.Meanwhile Quinn dreaded what would happen after this. There was no way if this man was involved.“Damn it.” Quinn clenched his fists, and then he thought about bell.“Greeting me while planning to set me the culprit who made my son armless has to be some sort of joke.”“Patriarch….” The judge tried to explain.“You should also seize his summon! That thing cannot be allowed to roam free.” Another elder from the Rodriguez family stepped out.“As the family known for controlling multiple summons, it would be best to give us authority over it.” Another person said.It was plain obvious what the Rodriguez family wer

“Freaking hell!” Quinn snapped.“You want to arrest me? Sure, no problem!” Then he pointed back to Rhys, “Arrest him too or does noble blood mean he is permitted to commit attempted murder.” Quinn frowned.“Ask any one of them first, what he tried to do?”Captain Vaughan narrowed his eyes, then he turned around.“Anyone that can testify that Rhys tried to kill Quinn first should step forward this instant.”Quinn clenched his fists.“Guys. What are you doing? Weren't anyone there when that panther tried to do a killer move? Didn't you see?”However none of them answered. They all looked away.Vaughan chuckled. “As you can see, you have no witnesses or evidence.” He said, glaring at Quinn, before turning to his shoulders.“Seize him!”A black hole formed around both Vaughan and the soldiers who were coming forward.Quinn was the first person to notice this.“Bell. Stop it! You'd only make it worse.” He quickly said to her.He had thought she was resting until he saw the black hole. The
