Chief Raul rushed out of the cell after ensuring Max's accommodations were perfectly arranged.
Once he reached his office, he immediately called Lieutenant Governor Avo.
“Lieutenant Governor Avo, what about Governor Darrus?”
Chief Raul began the conversation.
“He’s still being stubborn,” Mr. Avo replied on the other end of the line.
“He remains insistent on that political marriage.”
“He wants Dominic to take over Morow State. Nothing can change his mind.”
Chief Raul slammed his fist on the desk.
“Dominic? That man isn’t even worthy of cleaning Mr. Max’s shoes, let alone leading Morow State!”
“I know,” Mr. Avo responded with a defeated tone.
“But Darrus is obsessed with the capital alliance. He believes it will strengthen his position.”
Chief Raul cursed loudly.
“He’s a fool! Mr. Max is the only one who truly cares about this state.”
“Meanwhile, Dominic doesn’t even know where the Morow State border lies!”
“It’s ridiculous! We’re handing Morow State over to someone who will destroy it!”
After ending the call, Chief Raul's body still trembled with anger.
That night, he lay in bed, tossing and turning restlessly.
He reached for a cigarette, lit it, and began chain-smoking.
The room filled with smoke, yet his anger refused to subside.

The next morning, Dominic emerged from Seraphina’s room looking refreshed.
He made his way to the dining room downstairs, where Governor Darrus had prepared breakfast for him.
“Good morning, Dominic.”
Darrus greeted warmly, gesturing toward the table laden with food.
Dominic sat down casually and picked up a glass of milk.
He took a sip but immediately spat it out.
“This is hot and sour!”
Dominic complained, slamming the glass onto the table.
Darrus turned with a puzzled expression.
“What’s wrong? The milk was just warmed.”
Dominic didn’t answer.
He grabbed a piece of bread and took a bite, but his face twisted in disgust.
“It’s moldy!” he exclaimed indignantly.
Darrus tried to calm the situation.
“There must have been a mistake. I’ll call the servants to prepare something fresh.”
“No need,” Dominic snapped as he stood up in irritation.
“The food in the capital is far better than this.”
What Dominic didn’t realize was that the servants had deliberately sabotaged his meal.
They sympathized with Max and believed Dominic was unworthy of replacing him.
To them, Max wasn’t just a leader but also a role model who genuinely cared and never demanded more than what he deserved.
In contrast, Dominic represented everything they despised: laziness, arrogance, and incompetence.
When they learned that Dominic was being considered as Max’s successor, their frustration reached a breaking point.
They decided to retaliate subtly but effectively.
The milk served to Dominic was deliberately overheated after it turned sour.
The bread placed on the table was slightly moldy and intentionally left unreplaced.
Even the fruits, usually selected with care, were dull and nearly rotten this time.
As they watched Dominic spit out the milk and complain about the bread, they exchanged glances in the kitchen, hiding sly smiles on their faces.
Dominic remained seated at the dining table, his frustration evident.
He pushed his plate away, unwilling to touch anything else after the unpleasant experience with the milk and bread.
Darrus, however, seemed oblivious to Dominic’s dissatisfaction.
“Dominic,” Darrus began as he sipped his tea calmly, “you know, when Max was leading Morow State, he had an excellent relationship with many mayors and town leaders.”
Dominic raised an eyebrow at him.
Darrus set down his teacup, leaned back in his chair, and continued with a serious tone.
“I suspect many of them benefited directly from Max. Bribes, or maybe under-the-table deals.”
“They idolized Max too much. Relationships like that are rarely pure without some sort of personal gain,” Darrus added.
Dominic leaned back in his chair, a smug look on his face.
“Are you saying that some of them will cause me trouble?”
Darrus chuckled cynically.
“Right! I bring this up as a warning. Many of them might try to use this situation to undermine you.”
“They’re loyal to Max, not to Morow State.”
Dominic nodded slowly.
“So, what do you suggest?”
“Humiliate Max,” Darrus said without hesitation.
“Destroy his reputation entirely!”
“If you succeed, it will prove you’re the better leader and leave them with no choice but to respect and follow your leadership.”
Dominic narrowed his eyes at Darrus.
“How do we do that?”

After finishing the investigation, Max stepped out of his private room, his expression calm and cold as usual. However, in the living room, Aurora was already waiting for him. The young woman stared at him with questioning eyes, ignoring the discomfort she felt from the presence of two additional guards stationed in every corner. “Max, what is going on?” Aurora asked, her voice trembling slightly. “Why are there suddenly so many guards everywhere?” Max kept walking without looking at her. “Just do as I say,” he replied briefly. “Do not go outside.” Aurora hurried after him, her steps quick. “But why are you allowed to go out?” she asked, her voice rising, demanding an answer. “Why do I have to stay here while you leave?” Max stopped walking but did not turn to face her. He let the silence hang for a moment before answering, “Everything will be fine if you stay here.” With that, he continued toward the main door. Just as Max was about to leave, Aurora spoke softly. “Max

Max walked quickly toward his private room, a minimalist space designed with a mix of dark wood and glass. Zoza arrived with Jamie, who was Max’s personal hacker. Zoza followed him, still breathing heavily, wearing an expression Max had never seen before — a mix of panic and deep fear. Inside the room, Max sat in his large chair while Zoza, his hands trembling, turned on the big screen on the wall. A few seconds later, a dark web page full of random text appeared. It was the most brutal black market on the dark web, a place where assassins gathered to offer the cruelest services. Zoza scrolled through the page quickly, his hands shaking, and pointed to the top post. There were two clear photos: one of Max and one of Aurora. Below them was a number that made Max pause for a moment...1 billion dollars. Zoza immediately panicked. “Boss, this is bad,” he said in a choked voice. “Someone has posted your photo and Aurora’s on this dark web site full of assassins. Whoever manag

At Vila Nexxon.... Max arrived at his home in Nexxon Villa. Since he killed Azam and sent the photos to the Hell group, the Demonic Cult had not shown any reaction. Max didn't know if they were afraid or if they were planning something. Whatever the reason, Max was not intimidated. On the contrary, he wanted to lure them out of hiding to avenge the death of his master, Lord Hades. Max stepped into the villa. The melodious sound of a piano welcomed him. In the living room, Aurora was playing the piano, singing "City of Stars" with a beautiful voice. Max was captivated. He had just discovered that Aurora was not only good at playing the piano but also had a lovely voice. Max sat down next to Aurora. He smiled faintly. The more time passed, the more he admired the young woman. Aurora looked so beautiful when lost in the music. After Aurora finished, she was surprised to see Max already behind her, staring at her. "You're home?" Aurora asked. "Zoza said you wouldn't be home often

Outside the building… "Let go! Don't you know who I am?!" Sayo shouted angrily, trying to fight back. But the two security guards didn't care. They dragged him out of the hall, which was now filled with whispers and sneering glances. Sayo struggled and raged, but his efforts were in vain. Once outside, he was pushed roughly. His body stumbled and fell face-down on the asphalt. Sayo tried to get up, but he couldn't. His chest felt tight, and his breath was heavy. He couldn't accept this reality. All of this stemmed from the burning anger in his heart. Yes, he was the one who had ordered the committee not to provide a seat for Ladder Corp. The reason was simple: he wanted to teach Max a lesson because Max had refused his offer for him to marry his daughter, Sarah. Sayo had hoped that by not having a seat at such a big event, Max would be humiliated. He imagined Max would come to him, apologize, and finally agree to marry Sarah. Sayo had even prepared a scenario where he would "forg

Max stood still in his place, not saying a single word, only looking at Sayo with a calm gaze that somehow made the air around them feel even heavier.Sayo swallowed hard. His nervousness grew worse when he realized that Senator Hayam was now also looking at him… not with friendliness, but with a cold, pressing anger.“I… I can explain…” Sayo tried to speak, but before he could continue, Hayam stepped forward.Hayam reached out and grabbed the collar of Sayo’s suit with ease. But the words that came out of his mouth made the entire hall fall silent. “Starting today, you are removed from your position as Chairman of the Lanua Business Regulatory Council.”Sayo was stunned. His legs gave way, and without thinking, he knelt before Hayam. Gripping the edge of the senator’s suit, his voice shook as he pleaded, “Senator Hayam… please… do not fire me…”“I… I was wrong, but… please give me another chance…”The Business Regulatory Council in every city of Morrow State operates under the Busin

When they saw Max standing there, some of them immediately rose and walked toward him.Among them, a man with neatly combed silver hair and a perfectly tailored dark suit stepped forward ahead of the others.
