Max quickly realized that Dominic and Darrus were behind the cheap rumors, trying to ruin his reputation with fabricated scandalous stories.

However, he showed no signs of anger or frustration.

What most people, including Chief Raul, didn’t know was the truth behind the houses in Golden Hills.

Max, with a heart full of responsibility and gratitude, had purchased those properties using his personal funds, not state money.

The houses were not homes for mistresses or anything immoral.

They were sanctuaries for people who had sacrificed everything for Morow State.

The residents of those homes came from diverse backgrounds, all connected by extraordinary dedication.

There were wives and children of soldiers who had fallen in battles against crime or terrorist attacks.

Some were relatives of top scientists who had lost their lives in mysterious accidents while working on technological advancements for the state.

Others were undercover journalists, humanitarian volunteers, and workers operating on the frontlines of dangerous missions.

Max understood that without these people, many of the advancements and peace Morow State enjoyed today would not have been possible.

When they lost their lives in the line of duty, Max felt obligated to protect the families they left behind.

He provided them with homes in Golden Hills, ensuring that the widows and children had a safe and decent place to live.

But Max didn’t stop there.

Using his own money, he funded the education of their children, ensuring they had access to the best schools.

His goal was simple yet noble: to help these children grow up unburdened by their traumatic pasts and to give them opportunities for a better future.

To Max, this was his way of honoring the sacrifices their parents had made.

However, this story was never shared with anyone.

Max never sought recognition or accolades for what he had done.

To him, this was simply the duty of a leader-something that didn’t need to be flaunted.

Meanwhile, Chief Raul, who had initially been startled by Max’s admission of "taking care of the women," sat with a mind in turmoil.

Seeing Chief Raul’s confused expression, Max gave a small smile and said calmly,

"You’ll find out the truth in time. Don’t worry too much."

After finishing his breakfast, Max left without explaining any further.

Meanwhile, Chief Raul was left alone with his swirling thoughts.

Chief Raul could only stare at the empty plates on the table, his mind clouded with unease and anxiety.

By midday, the atmosphere in Dominic’s office was tense.

Mid-level and senior officials of Morow State had gathered, forming a crowd brimming with curiosity.

Mr. Avo sat with a face full of anger, still frustrated from failing to convince Governor Darrus to act rationally.

Meanwhile, Chief Raul stood with a serious expression, watching Dominic with a wary gaze.

Dominic stood in the center of the room, his posture arrogant and a smug smile on his face.

He tapped the table in front of him, drawing everyone’s attention.

“Today, we must address a very serious matter. I’m sure you’ve all heard the news that Max has been arrested.”

Murmurs began to ripple through the crowd, but Dominic continued without pause.

“Yes, Max, the former leader you all respected, has been proven guilty of embezzlement, bribery, and scandal.”

Dominic paused for dramatic effect, “he has kept numerous prostitutes in Golden Hills.”

A stunned silence fell over the room.

The officials exchanged glances, their faces filled with disbelief.

“This is nonsense,” a senior official finally spoke.

“Mr. Max was the first to step in when the storm devastated the southern district.”

“He helped rebuild homes and ensured aid arrived on time.”

Another official added, “He even established education centers for underprivileged children in remote areas. How could he possibly be involved in such a scandal?”

After finishing the investigation, Max stepped out of his private room, his expression calm and cold as usual. However, in the living room, Aurora was already waiting for him. The young woman stared at him with questioning eyes, ignoring the discomfort she felt from the presence of two additional guards stationed in every corner. “Max, what is going on?” Aurora asked, her voice trembling slightly. “Why are there suddenly so many guards everywhere?” Max kept walking without looking at her. “Just do as I say,” he replied briefly. “Do not go outside.” Aurora hurried after him, her steps quick. “But why are you allowed to go out?” she asked, her voice rising, demanding an answer. “Why do I have to stay here while you leave?” Max stopped walking but did not turn to face her. He let the silence hang for a moment before answering, “Everything will be fine if you stay here.” With that, he continued toward the main door. Just as Max was about to leave, Aurora spoke softly. “Max

Max walked quickly toward his private room, a minimalist space designed with a mix of dark wood and glass. Zoza arrived with Jamie, who was Max’s personal hacker. Zoza followed him, still breathing heavily, wearing an expression Max had never seen before — a mix of panic and deep fear. Inside the room, Max sat in his large chair while Zoza, his hands trembling, turned on the big screen on the wall. A few seconds later, a dark web page full of random text appeared. It was the most brutal black market on the dark web, a place where assassins gathered to offer the cruelest services. Zoza scrolled through the page quickly, his hands shaking, and pointed to the top post. There were two clear photos: one of Max and one of Aurora. Below them was a number that made Max pause for a moment...1 billion dollars. Zoza immediately panicked. “Boss, this is bad,” he said in a choked voice. “Someone has posted your photo and Aurora’s on this dark web site full of assassins. Whoever manag

At Vila Nexxon.... Max arrived at his home in Nexxon Villa. Since he killed Azam and sent the photos to the Hell group, the Demonic Cult had not shown any reaction. On the contrary, he wanted to lure them out of hiding to avenge the death of his master, Lord Hades. Max stepped into the villa. The melodious sound of a piano welcomed him. In the living room, Aurora was playing the piano, singing "City of Stars" with a beautiful voice. Max was captivated. He had just discovered that Aurora was not only good at playing the piano but also had a lovely voice. Max sat down next to Aurora. He smiled faintly. The more time passed, the more he admired the young woman. Aurora looked so beautiful when lost in the music. After Aurora finished, she was surprised to see Max already behind her, staring at her. Outside the building… "Let go! Don't you know who I am?!" Sayo shouted angrily, trying to fight back. But the two security guards didn't care. They dragged him out of the hall, which was now filled with whispers and sneering glances. Sayo struggled and raged, but his efforts were in vain. Once outside, he was pushed roughly. His body stumbled and fell face-down on the asphalt. Sayo tried to get up, but he couldn't. His chest felt tight, and his breath was heavy. He couldn't accept this reality. All of this stemmed from the burning anger in his heart. Yes, he was the one who had ordered the committee not to provide a seat for Ladder Corp. The reason was simple: he wanted to teach Max a lesson because Max had refused his offer for him to marry his daughter, Sarah. Sayo had hoped that by not having a seat at such a big event, Max would be humiliated. He imagined Max would come to him, apologize, and finally agree to marry Sarah. Sayo had even prepared a scenario where he would "forg
