Adrian turned to the Master, his voice steady.

“I’ve won. The key is mine.”

The Master rose slowly, awe still etched across his face.

“Yes,” he said, bowing deeply. “The key belongs to you.”

The Master swallowed hard, still shaken by what he had witnessed.

Without another word, he turned and disappeared into the inner hall.

Moments later he returned, carrying the silver box and one half of the ancient key.

He handed it over to Adrian.

“The second half lies far to the west, in the lair of the Coiled Guardian, a serpent that sleeps beneath the Western Abyss."

"The missing piece is embedded in one of its scales and has been guarded by the serpent for centuries.

"If you are not the one foretold in the prophecy, the Guardian will know."

"And if you fail you will die.”

“The two halves of the key can only be joined by one with a truly worthy bloodline.”

Adrian simply nodded.

The Master inclined his head.

“May the heavens watch over you.”
