Chapter 9

A state of anxiety rippled through the air as everyone wondered who Axel was to Oberon and why Oberon would take his side.

Axel's Pals, Drew, Quinn and Charmaine waggled close to him to comfort him because of what he had gone through.

He was indeed in a mess. Oberon's eyes glittered with sadistic emotions.

He couldn't believe that he might have partially failed in his task, as Axel was still assaulted and everything went tit-up.

Oberon's head cringed as he waggled contritely towards Axel's side.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know who you were, but now I do," He said in a very hush and hoarse voice.

Axel's friends were dumbfounded and felt bewildered that Oberon was trying to hoodwink Axel into thinking he was supporting him over Hayden and his guys.

Axel understood and chuckled inwardly as a sly grin appeared on his face.

He knew he had to be subtle if he still wanted to shield his identity even from his closest friends.

"Drew, Quinn and Charmaine, you can leave now," He flashed a perfect smile to convince them that everything was right.

"Alright, if you say so," said Drew as he and the rest waggled away together.

"So, like I said, I'm just knowing about your identity and I'm very contrite about it because I feel I should have known about this a long time ago," Oberon eye's rolled as his stomach flipped.

Axel's heart thudded in his chest. He wasn't used to such an amount of high respect in all his life. So far so good, he has been respected because of his quality character and success in academics and all ramifications except riches.

His eyes dilated with euphoria as he chuckled once more sably at Hayden at the rest of the Hardy Boyz who were currently not around at the moment.

"I just have one request, Principal Oberon, that my identity be kept as a secret," Axel's eyes bobbed shut as he expressed his sincere heart desires.

"Of course, I already told Birch that I would ensure that," Oberon retorted in a kowtow manner that made Axel's stomach flip in embarrassment.

He gulped audibly because he had to signal to Oberon who acted normal.

"It's alright. I don't hold any grudges against you, so you have no reason to worry about anything," Axel stroked his chin and massaged his temples.

He knew that he had to get ready for class soon because he had a class to attend.

"Thanks, boss I'm so grateful for this forgiveness and I promise it won't repeat itself anymore," Oberon almost performed a cursory bow but staved off himself because of the presence of some students around.

"Ooh, it's okay, if it repeats itself, I won't hold you responsible in any way," Axel flashed a perfect smile.

He had a fleck of hope that returning to the school couldn't be pervasive in any way, even by the hardy Boyz themselves.

"I can see you have a class now," Oberon got ready to return to his office to prepare for the meeting he was supposed to have.

"Yes," Axel's face beamed in euphoria. He couldn't wait to inform his mom that he would be returning to the same school he was expelled from after she was done with her surgery.

Oberon waggled out of Axel's presence while he strode toward the class.

When he waggled towards his class, he took a glance at himself and saw how grungy he looked.

"Jeez!" His jaw dropped as his stomach flipped.

He gritted his teeth as he walked into the class his eyes almost bobbed shut.

Most of the students avoided sitting down next to him, while others were busy gossiping about the controversy surrounding Principal Oberon's support for him over Hayden.

Everyone was finding it very subtle to believe as they mulled over why he was allowed to return to the school premises...
