Abel Scott was immediately shocked as he stared at the phone in his hand.

“Who is this?” He asked again, this time a little bit lower than before.

“You mean you don't recognize my voice Mr Abel Scott?”

“Wait a minute, Mr Jackson Alfred, is that really you?!” Abel Scott immediately asked as he realised that the caller was actually Mr Jackson Alfred.

“What the heck!”

“Why are you sounding like that?” Abel Scott immediately asked.

“Lord Abel Scott, I'm really sorry I had the voice distortion device on as I just finished talking to one of my most valuable intel on your dad's sudden disappearance and death.”

“I'm really sorry about that!” Mr Jackson Alfred immediately pleaded from the other end of the phone.

“Okay, fine, please turn it off, it's kind of buzzy at the moment.” Abel Scott immediately said.

“So what were you talking about when you said you have found a way to make Sarah Lawrence see again?”

“I mean the doctors from the best hospitals in and around the country had actually looked at my wife's condition and they had all said that she can't be fixed.”

“Do you happen to also be a medical doctor, Mr Jackson Alfred?” Abel Scott asked as he gazed at the door just to make sure no one was eavesdropping on his conversation.

Cough! Cough!! Cough!!!

“Lord Abel Scott, I'm actually not a medical doctor, at least not yet, but the Scott family has a medical doctor who I still believe is on your dad's side.”

“Not everyone currently in the Scott's family is in total support of what Lord Ammon Vandel is currently doing in the Scott family at the moment.”

“His name is Doctor Philip, I believe he will have the medical skills required to actually make Sarah Lawrence, your wife, see once again.” Mr Jackson Alfred said as he exhaled slowly from the other end of the phone.

“Mr Philip, you say?”

“Why does that name sound familiar?” Abel Scott immediately said.

“Most probably because you remember him as the doctor who looked after your grandfather, Lord Renes Scott.”

“He is a good man and I believe that if I talk to him about Sarah Lawrence's condition he might be willing to at least see her and help her out.”

“Mr Jackson Alfred, I'm not sure about this, I would really love it if we don't get any more of my family into this…”

“But Lord Abel, Doctor Philip isn't family, he is just the family doctor and I can vouch that he can and will keep anything he hears or sees a secret.”

“I know him, he isn't like Marvin who betrayed us the last time.”

“We just have to give him a try, at least for Sarah's sake.” Mr Jackson Alfred said, his voice was laced with persuasion.

“Mr Jackson Alfred, this is a risky one…” Abel Scott said as he stared into the open sky.

“For Sarah's sake I will allow that to happen.”

“Sarah Lawrence has really given up a lot just to save me.”

“I bet even if she finally gets her eyes fixed, she still wouldn't recognize me as the man that she had saved that night.” Abel Scott said as he walked towards the door.

“Mr Abel, you really don't need to tell her who you are, at least not yet.”

“The lesser your wife and everyone you care about knows about your past and your family the better for everyone.”

“We can't afford to put your wife and her mother in more danger, she is already in a big danger for saving you from the morgue that night.”

“If Lord Ammon finds out what really happened, he would definitely be bringing all hell on the Lawrence's family.” Mr Jackson Alfred said, his voice was laced with caution.

“Yes, you are right Mr Jackson Alfred, I will do exactly as you have said, but first I would like you to call Doctor Philip and book an appointment with him immediately.”

“I can't wait to break the good news to my wife and Mrs Elena Lawrence.”

“I will do exactly that, Lord Abel Scott.” Mr Jackson Alfred said.

“I will be expecting the necessary feedback by tomorrow morning.” With that said, Abel Scott immediately ended the call and raced back inside.

“Sarah, I have some good news!”

“I think I might have found a way to make you see again!”

Mrs Elena Lawrence immediately stood up, “What is actually wrong with you, Abel?!”

“You keep bringing up this issue about my daughter's blindness, I have warned you to let it go!”

“Let it go for crying out loud!” Mrs Elena Lawrence said as she stared at Abel Scott angrily.

“Calm down, Elena, let Abel talk.”

“I have a feeling that he might finally have answers to fix Sarah's blindness.” Mr Zack Lawrence said from his wheelchair.

“Abel, how do you propose we fix my daughter's blindness?”

The apartment was not like the mansion but it was comfortable. Cracked sidewalks snaked through weedy grass. Most of the building's paint was falling apart and sagging roofs moving like they were tired of standing. A rusting mini van with two Missing wheels sat as a permanent fixture beside the curb. The sun peeped through the windows of the apartment casting golden stripes on the little desk that now serves as desk and dinner for Abel Scott and his family at the apartment. He stares blankly into the laptop screen sitting comfortably on the desk as he prepares his resume. “What are you doing, darling?” Sarah Lawrence asked, running her fingers through Abel Scott’s hair.“I’m preparing a resume and cover letter for my application.” Abel Scott said. “Wow that’s amazing, babe!” Sarah Lawrence was elated.
