The Pylar Dungeon. The recommended standard for clearing it was six level 25 adventurers—an E-class dungeon. And here I was, a level 1 adventurer, about to challenge it solo. Inside, the dim corridors twisted like a maze. With the map memorized perfectly in my head, I advanced without hesitation. “Wh-why…?” That was the first thing I asked. Why was Guillermo standing right in front of me? “I hear you’ve been going in and out of exchange counters all over the place lately.” Guillermo grinned as he said this. I knew that exchanging the 〈Sword of Departure〉—which was supposed to be a first-clear reward—over and over would look suspicious. And so, I succeeded once again in passing through the wall into the reward area. However, it’s a fixed rule that rewards after the first clear are inferior compared to the initial clear reward. Because of that, adventurers don’t repeatedly defeat the same boss just for the clear reward. If there are adventurers who fight the same boss over and over, their goal isn’t the clear reward but rather the drop items the boss leaves behind. That said, since I can’t defeat monsters, the clear reward is my only way to make money. I have no choice but to gratefully accept it. The next day, I couldn’t decide what to do for the whole day. Since I still had money left over from yesterday, there wasn’t any sense of urgency. But if I kept spending, it would eventually run out. Before that happened, I needed to take some kind of action. “First of all, why was I able to pass through the wall? I should figure that out.” If I just wanted quick money, I could dive into a dungeon and search for treasure chests. But in the long run, solving the mystery of passing through walls was far more important. If I could freely pass through walls, that would become a huge weapon for me. "What w-what the fuck just happened?" I was really confused. I looked around and immediately realized where I was. It was the room you're always taken to after defeating a dungeon boss. We call it the reward area. As proof, a teleportation array was drawn on the floor, and using it would let me easily exit the dungeon. And… "There's a treasure chest too…" "How lucky for me." The treasure chest you get after defeating the dungeon boss was sitting on the floor. Well, I'd just phased through the wall… I hadn't actually defeated the boss, but anyway, that's no reason not to take it. I opened it right away. "Whoa, it's a sword!" Inside was a single sword. I checked its stats. {SWORD OF DEPARTURE} (Increases attack by 100.) A +100 boost to attack isn't a bad stat, is it? To benefit from the sword, you must have the "sword technique" skill. If you don't have it, equipping it won't grant you the +100 bonus, so to me this is nothing more than a heavy stick.
