Felix felt a flush of goosebumps on his shoulders. He thought he was clinically attentive to details, but his encounter with Victoria had shown how he needed to hone his skills in human psychology.

For long, Victoria had kept her lips zipped on Eunice's secret about her involvement in Felix's covert mission, but an opportunity presented itself to have Mr. Hitler on her side, and she had to spill some words.

“I'd advise you to keep playing according to the script. Eunice had a sole purpose of wanting you in the Haydens' family that she wouldn't even share with Lucia. Don't mess things up by confronting her with this information.”

Victoria had to protect herself knowing how things could fall apart if Eunice had the slightest idea that she had been talking with Felix. She would most likely give Lucia some heads-up.
