Percival slowly circled the both of them like a predator taunting it's prey. His fierce eyes settled on Adrian, assessing him.
“Do you know why I have come to you today, Adrian?” Percival questioned Adrian who shrugged his shoulders “Enlightened me,” Adrian replied casually. Percival’s eyes flashed with anger as he stopped walking. “How dare you speak to me in such manner! Do you have a death wish?” He yelled at Adrian who just sighed. “This better be important. I can't believe I may have to teach you punks some lessons too,” Adrian said impatiently, and the soldiers laughed. But not Percival. “Boss, not only is he a loser, he is also insane,” “Should we even waste time with an ass wipe like this? He's obviously lost it,” The soldiers mocked Adrian. But he kept quiet. “Your ex-wife did say there was something different about you. Now I know. You cannot handle the news of her dumping you, can you?” Percival said and smiled. “Is that what she told you?” Adrian laughed. To save face, he expected Ciara to lie. And he was not surprised. “That is the truth, is it not? Or am I to believe a trash bag like you could dump a woman like Ciara? She's an excellent healer and you're just… a servant,” “Former servant, sir. The loser lost his fucking job this morning,” A soldier corrected him and the rest burst into laughter. Even Percival chuckled. “You are unfortunate, aren't you? Everything just crashed down on you at the same time,” he said to Adrian who kept a pokerface. “Lieutenant Percival, why are you here? Did we do anything wrong?” Macy asked Percival. His eyes roamed to her with lust. “Such a delicate creature… I wonder how you'll taste in bed,” he whispered, the distraction seeping into him Then his composure returned and he frowned at Adrian. “Ciara reported that you beat up her father. You may be useless but I didn't think you'd be a brute too. And that must not go unpunished,” he said to Adrian. Adrian held Macy tighter. He knew where this was going. “But… I can forgive you, and pretend like this didn't happen… if you fall down on your knees before me… and give me your sister to become my bitch!” Percival said and smiled. “I have a better idea.” Adrian started, “Why don't you go fuck yourself?” Adrian shot at him and everyone gasped. The alley fell silent as Percival processed the insult. “Brother! Don't talk to him that way. He will kill us!” Macy quickly intervened. “Please lieutenant Percival, he didn't mean that. You can take me, but please don't hurt us,” Macy quickly chipped in and begged. “Even the bitch wants Percival's cock!” “Every bitch wants Percival! He's amazing!” The soldiers sang percival's praise but Adrian remained indifferent. And Percival noticed the defiance. “Kneel. Now.” Percival stated, his hands clenching into a fist. “No.” Adrian replied. “Bring him to his knees,” Percival commanded his men who chuckled and drew their weapons. Looking around, Adrian gently placed Macy on the ground. “Brother, please… don't do this… they will kill you…” she begged him. But Adrian smiled. “Close your eyes, Macy,” he told her and she sniffled She shut her eyes and covered her ears with her hands. Adrian took a deep breath. The energy that has been raging inside him begged to come out. He could feel the energy spreading across his body, filling up every cell, every tissue. [Activating combat mode] [Welcome, Adrian Bloodson, Dragon Knight; first of his kind] [Current status: S-class magical; Energy level: computing; unlimited potentia] [New mission alert: Defeat Percival's men] [Reward: Access to mind magik!] His tattoos glowed red, his veins gave off a red streaking as his skin became paler. The soldiers saw this and paused, casting glances at each other. “What sort of magik is this?” “Is this even magik?” They whispered as the energy built and and with a charge, Adrian released it. The blast swept the soldiers off their feet and slammed them onto the ground, knocking some totally unconscious while the others snapped their necks in the process. Adrian opened his red eyes, fixing them on Percival who, at that time, jerked back in fear. “You have magik? That's impossible!” He said to Adrian who gently approached him. With each step, Adrian's power surged. Percival shuddered as Adrian kept walking toward him. Realizing he had nothing in him to compete with what Adrian was carrying, percival faked a final glare. “This isn't over, Bloodson!” He snapped and disappeared into the shadows. [Reward granted] The energy gently dissipated. Adrian felt a chill come upon him. He returned to Macy who still shut her eyes and ears. When he touched her, she screamed. “It's me, Macy. It's me…” Adrian said to her. Macy opened her eyes and quickly hugged him, sniffling. “I thought you'd be dead! How did you survive?” She asked him when she saw she soldiers lying on the ground. But Adrian smiled at her. “Let's go,” he told her. He still didn't understand his magic, but they had to leave. When he raised her up, Adrian sensed a presence behind him. Adrian immediately swung around and grabbed the person standing behind him and slammed them on the wall. But when he saw that it was a woman, Adrian quickly let go of her. “He said you'd be rough. But I did not expect this much,” she said to him while he stepped back. “Who are you?” Adrian asked her. The lady glanced at the soldiers on the ground before her green eyes fell on Adrian again. “Did you do this?” She asked him, but Adrian said nothing. He gazed at her uniform: the ornate designs that dazzled under the evening sun, the expensive fabric that looked kike it could feed him for days, and the crest of a dragon and a knight- the official sigil of Scilicia. There was no mistaking it. “You're a mage,” Adrian stated with fact. The lady smiled. “My name is Jade. My master sent me to bring you to him,” she said to Adrian. “Who is your master?” He asked her. “Draco. The most powerful telepath of the Grand Palace. He has been looking for you, Adrian,” she said to him. Adrian thought it was bluff. There's no way such an important man would see him worthy enough for an audience. “I have no business with your master,” he told Jade. “But he wishes to reward you. For a good deed in the past. Fortune has favored you, Adrian. Please come with me,” she told him. Adrian thought about the words. When did he ever cross paths with Draco? He couldn't remember. But then he looked at his sister. She needed proper rest at least. “Fine. Take me to your master,” he told Jade who smiled again. Adrian picked Macy up, and walked into the unknown.Latest Chapter

168The estate’s east wing still smelled like smoke. Adrian pulled Ciara into it by the wrist, away from the others, and she let him—right up until he opened his mouth.“Don’t,” she said.“Ciara—”She hit him again. Open palm this time, full weight behind it, and his head snapped sideways into the charred doorframe. He didn’t block it. He didn’t even raise his hands.“You don’t get to talk first.” Her voice was flat now, scraped clean of the rage from the arena. That was worse. “You get to listen. That’s all you get.”She held up her hands between them. He looked. Really looked.Every fingernail was gone. Not torn off in some accident—removed, deliberately, the beds underneath scarred over wrong, healed crooked, healed by something that didn’t care if it healed right. Ten small ruined places where something used to grow.“He started with these,” she said. “Said hands tell on people. Said he wanted to know how long it would take before I stopped using mine to fight and started using th

167. The tunnel was endless, and Ciara was obviously agitated. It seemed like every moment she spent in there made her angrier. Nobody spoke for a while, and it was mostly because everyone was tired. But it was also because nobody knew what to say after Ciara had casually admitted to spending three months planning Adrian's murder. Adrian was at the back of the group, far away from Ciara. As far away as he could be. Henry noticed. "You do know that she can still reach you, right?" Adrian sighed. "That's a problem." "I can hear both of you. This cave echoes." Adrian immediately shut up. "Ciara wouldn't try to kill you in here, we're running away and she's smarter than that." Selene said, trying to be patronising. She had no idea of what Ciara was like, but she wanted them to get as far from the trouble as they possibly could. "Smart woman." Ciara responded. They went a turn and then Ciara suddenly stopped walking. "What now? Why did you stop?" Selene asked.

166. The two women stared at each other with neither one even blinking or looking away. Adrian felt a headache coming, and he got irritated when he looked at Henry. The prince looked excited. "This won't go well, please." Adrian said, trying to quell the anger. Selene pointed at herself, and then at Ciara. "First of all, I look nothing like you. You have to be blind." Ciara raised an eyebrow at her. "You really think that you don't?" "No, I literally don't." Meanwhile, Selene's eye twitched in anger. She was tired, and her throat still hurt from nearly being strangled by that stupid clown. She had been kidnapped and forced into a death arena, and now this strange silver-haired woman had appeared out of nowhere and accused her of being a replacement wife. She wasn't even "officially" with Adrian! They just had feelings for each other. Her patience was completely gone. "Listen to me well." She pointed at Ciara. "I have heard a few stories and I'm nothing like you!

165.They could still hear the crowd screaming, but nothing startled them more than what Ciara said and how she had said them. "The king?" Adrian looked at the others before scrambling to his feet. “Wait… what do you know?” Ciara groaned. “I’m just asking because—” “NO!” She exclaimed, interrupting him. Adrian shut his mouth and Henry looked between them nervously. "Maybe we should all calm down and—" "Shut the fuck up, prince!” She exclaimed. Henry immediately shut up too. Mira raised an eyebrow. "She's quite intense." "Trust me…” Adrian muttered. "This isn't even close." Ciara looked back at him. The look alone made him regret speaking. Selene folded her arms. "Okay. Maybe let's not discuss murdering kings while we're still trapped inside a death arena. We need to figure out how to get out of here.” "Former death arena, that’s what I heard them say.” Henry corrected. “But Adrian killed people.” There was a distant-sounding explosion. The clown w

164. Selene hated that ugly, mocking smile on the clown’s face. Just then, inside her snapped. "You smiling piece of shit!" She launched herself off the platform and over to the clown. Mira barely had time to react before Selene was airborne. "SELENE!" The crowd gasped and then started to cheer. Selene flew through the air, with all the magic she could handle. She aimed straight for the clown's face. The clown didn't even act like they were being attacked. For one glorious second, Selene thought she had it. Suddenly, a hand shot out quickly. The clown grabbed her by the throat. Selene's eyes bulged and her attack force vanished instantly as the clown held her up effortlessly with one arm. The entire arena fell silent. "What?" Selene croaked. “H-how is th-this?” The clown sighed and squeezed her neck tightly. "Oh dear. Did you really think that that pathetic attack would work?" Mira's face turned pale as she saw Selene losing breath. She charged at the clown too.

163. Henry stood over the body of the poisoned guard he had just killed, chest heaving as blood dripped from the stolen bow in his hand. “Come on then!” He screamed at the guards. “Which one of you bastards wants to die next? You’re following orders of evil and expect to still be on top!” The crowd cheered. “YES!” “KILL THEM!” “MORE BLOOD!” Adrian looked around in disbelief. The guard had been dead for less than five seconds and thousands of people were cheering like they had just witnessed something beautiful. “What the fuck is wrong with these people?” He muttered. Suddenly, a horn was blasted. Immediately, several armoured guards rushed at Henry at once. Henry cursed at them and then fired another poisoned arrow. One guard took it through the eye and collapsed on the spot. The others kept coming. They didn’t care about their lives or whatever, this job was their lives. Henry barely dodged a spear thrust before a shield smashed into his ribs. “Henry!” Adria
