CHAPTER 1
“Did you think a useless nonmagical like you deserved a woman like me?!” Adrian's breath quickened while he gazed at the woman he once called his wife. Ciara stood over the pool of wetness formed by Adrian's blood. His limbs were cut off, ribs broken in several places. Every breath was agony, but none of them compared to the pain he felt in his heart; The sting of betrayal! “Let’s finish this already. This pathetic loser is not worth it!” Ciara’s mother chipped in. She cast a ruthless glare at Adrian before she spit on him. “I hope I didn't chop your limbs too hard, Adrian. A useless servant like you must know his place in his next life!” A tall man dressed in ornate attire said and laughed while circling Adrian. This was Prince Henry, heir to the silician throne. He settled beside Ciara, wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in for a deep kiss! Bile rose to Adrian’s throat while he watched the disgusting scene! Ciara moaned hungrily before she fixed he

“Get away from him! Have you lost your fucking mind?” Ciara’s mother rushed into the room and shielded her husband. She was a B-class welder: those who had power over shields and weapons. Extremely powerful ones could change sand to steel! “How dare you raise your useless hands on him? You unfilial ragshit! Is this how you repay us for everything we've done for you?” She snapped at Adrian who laughed at her. “I can't believe I once bought this nonsense,” Adrian retorted. Her cheeks warmed with embarrassment. “Just wait for Ciara to get back. She'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget! Do not think we will forgive this!” She screamed at Adrian who rolled his eyes. “I’d like to see her try,” he replied and walked out of the room. “Adrian! Don't you dare walk away from me! Get your useless ass back here now- ” She cursed at him but Adrian slammed the front door before the last word fell. For the first time in forever, Adrian felt alive. The sun warmed his skin, even th

Adrian watched as Ciara marched toward him under the blazing sun. Her face was twisted into a frown and her hands clenched into a fist.Even when angry, Ciara's beautiful face was a wonder to behold. But her body wasn't so great. She had a flat chest with small shoulders.Adrian's eyes roamed to her protruding stomach, the child she had used to cajole him. A thousand memories filled his mind, but that was in the past now.Ciara quickly approached him and attempted to slap him, but Adrian caught her hand midair!Ciara gasped in shock. “How dare you lay your hand on me! Let me go!” Ciara yelled at Adrian and tried dragging her hand out of his grip, but he held on longer than a second His eyes burned through her. Ciara could tell there was something different about Adrian, but she couldn't put her finger on it.“Let go!” She forcefully dragged her hand out of his grip and lost her balance. With a cry, Ciara fell on the sands “Do you want to kill the baby? What the fuck has gotten into

It felt like a vision, but it was not. It was something more. “Adrian… my brother… I need you…” Adrian could hear Macy's voice inside his head. She was a C-class telepath who has never had to use her powers that much before. For her to channel that much magik, she was in danger! “Macy? Where are you!” Adrian asked. “Adrian… it hurts… so bad… help me… please…” the same eerie voice came in again “Macy!” “Help me!!!” And then, Adrian suddenly snapped back to reality. He was still standing in front of the courthouse. His heart raced inside his chest as adrenaline flooded his system. His sister was in danger! And he knew where to find her. Aunt Vee's house. Without sparing a second, Adrian zoomed off to the residence. It was just a stone throw away from the courthouse. In no time, he stood before the wooden house with shrivelling flowers around the main residence. Adrian knocked twice. While he struggled in the palace, his sister Macy was living with the wicked woman. Ad

“How dare you spill such nonsense? You're just a useless nonmagical! You should be begging me on your knees to help your miserable sister!” Aunt Vee yelled at Adrian again. Adrian gritted his teeth. He was running out of patience. “I will not ask the second time,” he stated, clenching his fist. Aunt Marianne laughed. “Boys, teach this unfortunate pig some lessons!” She said and stepped back The men chuckled while they swung their weapons. “We might even have some fun with her before Vee gives her to the brothel,” one of the men said and laughed. “Yeah! She might be a disgusting sight to see but at least she's pretty,” another one chipped in. “And there's NOTHING you can do about it. Nonmagicals like you are absolutely useless -” Adrian snapped the man's jaw with his fist before the man could complete the statement. Blood splashed on the other two as the man dropped down dead. “You killed him!” “You're fucking dead!” Both attacked Adrian at the same time. But Adrian s

Percival slowly circled the both of them like a predator taunting it's prey. His fierce eyes settled on Adrian, assessing him.“Do you know why I have come to you today, Adrian?” Percival questioned Adrian who shrugged his shoulders “Enlightened me,” Adrian replied casually.Percival’s eyes flashed with anger as he stopped walking.“How dare you speak to me in such manner! Do you have a death wish?” He yelled at Adrian who just sighed.“This better be important. I can't believe I may have to teach you punks some lessons too,” Adrian said impatiently, and the soldiers laughed. But not Percival.“Boss, not only is he a loser, he is also insane,”“Should we even waste time with an ass wipe like this? He's obviously lost it,” The soldiers mocked Adrian. But he kept quiet.“Your ex-wife did say there was something different about you. Now I know. You cannot handle the news of her dumping you, can you?” Percival said and smiled.“Is that what she told you?” Adrian laughed. To save face, h

“Wait here. Master Draco will be with you shortly,” Jade told Adrian inside the grand living room with towering shelves for books and ornaments.Adrian was amazed by how sophisticated the mansion looked. If he didn't know better, he would have thought the house was even bigger than the castle itself.“Brother… this place is huge,” Macy whispered to Adrian. Adrian smiled.“Do you like it here?” He asked her. She nodded coyly and he chuckled.“Very soon, I will own a place like this. And you will live with me,” Adrian told her. Macy smiled at him. “It is good for you to dream brother. But remember, we are nothing. We mustn't dream too high,” she said to him in sadness. But Adrian stroked her hair.“Trust me, Macy. I will take care of this,” he said to her.“Take care of what?”A woman suddenly asked behind them. Both Adrian and Macy turned around and saw a servant standing there. Her face was twisted into an angry glare. “What the hell are you two doing here? Who let you in?” The serv

“Come on in,” the middle aged man dressed in a sophisticated blue robe said to Adrian from a library.Adrian stepped inside, took in the view and approached Master Draco. Master Draco smiled while he shaked Adrian's hand, leading him to a seat.“I am glad you could make it, Adrian. I've been looking for you,” Master Draco said, while a servant poured them a drink. Adrian tasted the expensive wine and immediately recognized that it was one of the rare ones. Draco was living in affluence!“Why were you looking for me?” Adrian asked Draco who chuckled.“I didn't know you were so brazen. Many people would cower in my presence,” Draco replied to Adrian, but Adrian said nothing. He just drank his wine.“I want to appreciate your kind gesture that night. I was in a bad shape after loosing my wife and you ensured I got home safely,” Master Draco ssid to him.Adrian took a trip down memory lane. He remembered the occurrence, and how he didn't think much of it at the time. It was just an act

“Oh, no one,” Ciara faked a smile as Prince Henry approached her. He kept his eyes fixed on her before he sat on the bed, pulling his coat off.“Your useless husband quit his job. Did he tell you that?” Henry asked Ciara. She gasped when she heard the news, feigning ignorance.“Oh my prince, I did not know. That arrogant punk is good for nothing. We should not bother ourselves about him,” she told the Prince who nodded in silence.“There was something about him. Something different. It was like… he had a mind of his own. A different mind. I couldn't quite put my hands on it,” Prince Henry said softly. His mind roamed back to the conscription day. “And he has joined the army as well. Can you imagine that? Adrian, of all people?” He chuckled.Ciara just stood there and listened to all of this. She didn't know about any of them. And somehow, it appeared as if Adrian had changed.“He's probably doing all of this to make me sorry. It's an act. What a lazy way to get my attention,” Ciara t

While the chaos spread, Adrian rushed inside the palace. The smoke was heavy now.He could still remember that night from his past life. That time, he had run away when the fight became too intense. But he wasn't running now. Not anymore.[FEEL YOUR MAGIK!] The same eerie voice rang inside Adrian's head. Adrian groaned. That was still a mystery left unsolved.Who was talking to him?[FEEL YOUR MAGIK!]The voice repeated. And then, Adrian felt a warmth slowly surrounding him. The magik spread across his body, giving a red aura that soon settled on Adrian's tattoos.Adrian felt empowered. He would ask questions later.“Help!!!”Adrian heard a lady cry out. He followed the cries and saw from the distance, a lady, dressed in royal silk, dragging herself on the ground, trying to escape the dark mage that was after her.The dark mage laughed. “You're mine now, bitch!” “Help!” She screamed again. But when the dark mage tried to touch her, Adrian dashed to him, grabbed his coat and flung
