“Come on in,” the middle aged man dressed in a sophisticated blue robe said to Adrian from a library.

Adrian stepped inside, took in the view and approached Master Draco.

Master Draco smiled while he shaked Adrian's hand, leading him to a seat.

“I am glad you could make it, Adrian. I've been looking for you,” Master Draco said, while a servant poured them a drink.

Adrian tasted the expensive wine and immediately recognized that it was one of the rare ones. Draco was living in affluence!

“Why were you looking for me?” Adrian asked Draco who chuckled.

“I didn't know you were so brazen. Many people would cower in my presence,” Draco replied to Adrian, but Adrian said nothing. He just drank his wine.

“I want to appreciate your kind gesture that night. I was in a bad shape after loosing my wife and you ensured I got home safely,” Master Draco ssid to him.

Adrian took a trip down memory lane. He remembered the occurrence, and how he didn't think much of it at the time. It was just an act of good.

“And now, I want to reward you. Tell me what you want. Anything. And it will be yours,” he told Adrian.

Adrian thought about it. His mind raced from wealth to land and houses. Finally having all of those things would be nice.

But Adrian wanted something else. Something more.

“I want an audience with the king,” Adrian stated clearly

Master Draco arched his brow.

“The king? What do you want with him?” He asked Adrian.

“I have information he needs. Information we all need, infact,” Adrian replied.

Master Draco studied Adrian closely. And carefully. He watched him like a hawk studying its prey

“You are a Nonmagical, aren't you?” He asked Adrian who just gazed at him, saying nothing.

“How come I cannot read your mind? Something is blocking me,” Master Draco said with intrigue.

He was an A-class telepath. There was almost nothing he couldn't do with his magik.

“But… there is someone else here. Your sister. She's a telepath too, is she not?”

“Yes she is,”

“I can train her to become stronger. With enough studying, she could be able to attain B-class some day. Take it as a token of my benevolence,” Draco said to Adrian.

“I didn't know such cultivation was possible,” Adrian answered. Master Draco smiled.

“That is why there are books here. Your audience with the king will be granted. But that would be after the Melody Ball tonight,”

Master Draco said and Adrian froze.

“The Melody Ball is tonight?” He frowned deeply. Master Draco was intrigued by the curiosity.

“Yes. What is your concern?”

“Dark mages will attack the palace tonight! They will kill the the Rhimae emissary the king is hosting a ball for!” Adrian blurted out and stood on his feet.

Master Draco was surprised.

“How do you know this?” He questioned. But Adrian rushed out of the library.

“The dark mages must be stopped!”

“Then we shall go to the palace together. If what you say is true, then the dark mages must be stopped!” Master Draco added and gently tugged Adrian's shoulder.

“Let's see if this foresight of yours will prove true,” he told him before the vines did their magic again!

-

“What the fuck do you mean you ran away from Adrian?”

Ciara yelled at Percival while they stood inside the Prince's quarters. Because of the Melody Ball, Ciara was tasked with helping the Prince prepare his outfit.

A job she gladly accepted.

“Why didn't you tell me your fucking ex husband has magik? You made me lose many men!” Percival shot back.

Ciara chuckled. “What fucking crack are you on? Everyone knows Adrian is a useless nonmagical who can't do anything right with his life,” she shot back at him.

“Apparently, that's not fucking true! He has this twisted form of magik. I have never seen anything like it,” Percival replied to her, eyes wide.

Ciara gazed at him before she slowly chuckled.

“Oh Percival. It is okay for you to lose a fight but to come up with such bullshit about Adrian having magik, that is utter nonsense.”

“Nonmagicals don't just wake up and develop powers. It doesn't fucking happen!”

“So you think I'm lying!” Percival yelled at her and she shrugged her shoulders.

“I think you will say anything to save face! Because my father was beaten up by that animal and YOU failed to get revenge for him!”

“What is the essence of your toughness if you cannot handle a rat like Adrian? Huh!” She yelled again but suddenly, Percival melted into the shadows.

He reanimated from hers and held a knife to her throat.

Ciara gasped as he held her close, putting her in place.

“Listen to me you fucking bitch. Don't you dare speak to me in such manner. The only reason you are still alive right now is our history. And trust me, nothing stops me from erasing it…”

Percival's knife slowly trailed the curves in her body and settled on her stomach. Ciara gasped.

“Don't you ever challenge me again. If you do, I will kill your child as punishment. And trust me, Ciara, you cannot heal the wound I will make,” he said and slit her dress slightly.

“Unhand me this moment!” Ciara mustered the courage to say. Fear filled her to the core.

But Percival laughed at her, and grabbed her tighter. His tongue slowly licked her ears and she moaned.

“Yeah… I still remember how to turn you on, you fucking bitch!” He cursed at her.

“Leave me alone!” Ciara cried out and tried to force herself out of his grasp.

With a swing, she turned around. But Percival was gone. And standing there was Prince Henry, looking at her with a glare.

“Who are you talking to?” He asked her with curiosity as he arched his brow.

Everyone wondered what was going on as there had been no prior preparations for war. But the king told them to be steadfast. An hour passed by of them just waiting. Adrian stood beside the king on the high balcony overlooking the grounds. The king folded his arms and turned to Adrian. "Well, Sir Bloodson, I see no army. Do you?” The visiting dignitary behind them looked pale. "I should not have stayed the night.” The man muttered. "This is madness, I have to go home, my wife must be back from her visits too." Adrian kept his eyes on the horizon. "They're coming." The king exhaled. "My entire court is on edge becaus

    41. Adrian couldn’t sleep. He had been able to get a few nights of rest after giving his condolences to the family of the dead… Ciara, but for some reason, this night was different. He sighed, forcing himself to go back to sleep, and that was when he heard a powerful voice in his head. “Wake up, Adrian!” Adrian sat upright in his bed with sweat running down his back. He looked around ti confirm that he was alone and sighed. "Who is there?” Adrian asked aloud. “Let me get some sleep!” “This is the powerful and mighty dragon, Adrian! You are running out of time!” Adrian felt a splitting headache come on, followed by a series of quick moving scenes. It was almost like he was in a trance, but he was awake and well. All the things he saw were extremely violent. He saw a battlefield where the sky was black with smoke and the air smelled like the mingling of blood and ash and fire. He turn r around to see a soldier run past him with half his face gone. Another one was crawli

  • Chapter 40

    40. Henry did not give Ciara's father any time to change his mind. Not like anything could even happen if he did. He had set his eyes on him even before he even offered to be the sacrifice. The old man barely had the door closed behind him before Henry grabbed his arm. "Move!” Henry said coldly. Ciara's father looked back once at his house. His wife was still on the floor, crying. "Please…” The old man said. "Be gentle with her, take care of them." “Yeah, whatever.” Was all Henry said. "Your highness?” Ciara’s father said, struggling to breathe as he got into the carriage. "Do you swear that my daughter will live if I die?" Henry didn't even look at him. "Yes, why are you asking? Cold feet already? Too afraid to trade the fate of your daughter?” Ciara’s father shook his head. “None of those, I just want to be sure. I’m about to die.” When they got to the palace, Prince Henry ignored everyone greeting him and went straight up to his father’s chambers. "Announ

  • Chapter 39

    39. Henry did not stop walking until the court doors were far behind him. His chest was tight and his hands were still shaking. Just one slip up was all it would have taken to ruin his reputation. "Stupid woman!” He cursed under his breath. He pushed open the door to the private lounge bar at the palace and grabbed the first bottle he saw. He didn't even bother with a cup. He drank straight from it. The burn hit his throat and he welcomed it. “Sir, are you…?” The bartender asked but then left immediately Henry shot him a withering glare. "How the hell did it get this messy?" He whispered to himself. He knew it. He shouldn’t have gotten involved with Ciara, but he just couldn’t resist her charms when she came on to him. He took another large swig and then slammed the bottle down on the table so hard that there was a small crack at the bottom. "I should've never touched that dumb bitch." But he knew that was a lie. He had wanted Ciara even before she came on to him.

    38. It didn’t take long to summon the court again. The members were still gossiping from the last trial when the royal bells rang and messengers were sent out to give the members of the court their urgent invitations. They all rushed in, wondering what could possibly make the king summon them urgently. The most urgent meeting there was had a day’s notice and it was the last case of Sir Bloodson VS the kingdom. "This had better be good.” One of the ladies said, taking her seat. "It's that Bloodson again, I’m sure. Before him, we always had a week’s notice.” “Maybe he has another dramatic speech prepared to sway his majesty." The doors opened. The king walked in first with his guards and a serious look on his face, followed by Princess Sue who looked quite pleased, and then Prince Henry followed close behind. Adrian came in last, dressed in plain clean clothes this time, though the bruises on his face were still there. The murmuring grew louder and then the king raised

  • Chapter 37

    37. The guards were not pleased releasing Adrian, but they had no choice. Adrian could see it in their eyes that if it were up to them, the trial would have gone a lot differently. But right now, Adrian had bigger fish to fry. He fell to the ground the moment the chains were gone, unable to feel his limbs. But then he stood up, and then he walked out, now temporarily free. I need to tend to my wounds, he thought, rubbing the raw spots on his wrists. As he walked out, he heard an all-too familiar voice. "Murderer!” He turned to see Ciara glaring at him. “Did you really think you could twist the king's mind with your weakness? Pathetic." Adrian didn't even glance her way. He walked straight past her, ignoring her taunts. She was his enemy now, she had tried to have him executed. But why did she hate him so? Even after he left her to fool around with the prince as much as she wanted? He shook his head. He was having too many thoughts at once. What he needed now was a calm
