“Terry?” Robin chuckled, recognizing the chaotic figure who just walked in.
Terry was chaotic in character as well as in his outfit, sporting a red suit and a black shirt, he looked like he was going for a circus.
“Surprised to see me?” Terry grinned, his eyes shining with mischief. “I have heard a lot about you, Robin. Isn’t it a privilege you got to see me today?”
Of course, Terry was a well-known figure from a prominent family. He was a typical third-generation rich heir. However, before Robin, he was nothing to write home about.
He looked classless and not only that, news of his escapades was all over town.
“Is this who you want to leave me for, Carla?” Robin chuckled, already figuring out the situation. Suddenly, the divorce didn't hurt anymore, as it had turned into an amusement for Robin.
“What about him?” Carla stood up, sporting a proud look.
“He is a womanizer, Carla. He is a scum who treats women worthlessly.” Robin didn't even care that Terry was standing right there. “You are a proud woman, why do you want to bring down yourself?”
“It’s none of your fucking business, Robin.” Carla didn't like those words even though it was true. But she was sure Terry loved and wanted her.
“At least, Terry is much more useful than you are. He is capable and I am happy.” She laughed, walking away from her desk and going to kiss Terry on the lips.
Terry made sure to hold Carla tight, sneering at Robin with anger brewing in his eyes.
“I see you still don’t know your place, Robin.” Terry barked, suddenly pushing Carla to the side. He then moved closer, staring into Robin’s eyes and breathing on his face.
“How dare you call me scum? Me?” Terry chuckled. “You are the scum here. Poor men are always the scum.”
“Really? Then you are poor…” Robin grinned and took a step back, looking at him head to toe before he continued, “…and classless.”
“What?” Terry gasped, his gaze turning murderous. The insult penetrated his bones because he always liked to portray himself as a rich and elegant figure.
“Apologize. Right now!” He spat in Robin’s face. “If you don’t kneel down and fucking apologize, I will make sure you spend the rest of your life in prison!”
Terry was barking all over the place and Robin looked at Carla who stared back at him with a daring gaze.
“Get your dog off my face, Carla. You should tame him.” Robin said calmly, ignoring Terry. He had no business with the flashy dog and so he turned to the table, to sign the divorce papers.
However, Terry was literally emitting steam from his nose and ears. No one had ever spoken to him this way! He was being ignored. Everyone always worshipped him and now, Robin a common man didn't even acknowledge his status.
“You bastard!” Terry yelled, grabbing Robin by the shoulder. He fisted his hand, throwing a punch at Robin.
But Robin was quick to dodge to the side, his movements fast and swift.
They all watched Terry flap his hand in the air, losing his balance. He couldn't even land a hit on Robin and Robin wasn't about to let him go.
“You made the move first.” Robin sneered, storming toward Terry, his fist flew in the air, carrying a powerful force.
And the moment his fist collided with Terry’s face, the air stood still, and Terry glided on it with ease.
Bang!
He crashed on the table, breaking it in half.
“Terry…” Carla opened her eyes wide in shock, rushing toward him in fear. Terry was out cold, in the middle of the mess.
“What have you done to him, you animal!?” Carla screamed. “Mom, call the police and get him arrested.”
“Right on it!” Madam Kia rushed to do what she said. But Robin wasn't fazed by that, as he took the divorce papers and signed them. Swiftly, he threw it over the couple, turning his back on them.
However, before he could get to the door, Madam Kia caught him from behind.
“Where do you think you are going? You criminal! You wanted to kill him, didn't you?” She screamed.
Robin sighed, tired of all the drama and he wondered how he was able to endure the drama for years. He turned around, took her hand, and flung her away from him.
“Know your place, woman!” Robin thundered. “I am no longer your son-in-law. You don’t go around touching strangers, do you?” He glared at her, his look making her freeze in fear.
Not only did his words shock her, but she had never seen Robin look so dangerous!
“You…” She stuttered. “What are you–”
But the door opened in that moment and two police officers filed into the office.
“Good! You are here!” Madam Kia exclaimed, momentarily forgetting the danger looming. “Arrest him! He tried to kill that man over there…”
“A murder case?” The police officers gasped, not bothering to question anyone. They rushed at Robin, trying to cuff him immediately.
“Do you have evidence of what you are saying?” Robin asked.
“Of course not.” Madam Kia chuckled. “But we rule the city right here. I can get these officers to get rid of you or lock you up forever. Do you get that?”
At those words, Robin chuckled, realizing the officers had been bribed. He watched them try to override him and hand-cuff him, however, he got away from them and went straight to Carla.
“Take this.” He took out a ring from his pocket and flung it at her. “I have repaid you for everything I owe.”
“What are you saying–”
Before she could even finish speaking, he turned around and stretched his hand toward the police.
“It’s your choice now to arrest me or let me go,” Robin said as if he was the one in charge but his next words sent warning signals.
“However, you will regret it if you don’t let me go.”

Broken And Dejected
Cora felt a pang of pain in her heart. However, she couldn't blame herself for just trying to show love. She had been damaged and bruised by Carla’s betrayal and her taunting words. In the next second, she staggered, her body almost falling back, but Robin caught her from behind. Her body was weak and frail, so he quickly carried her to the couch while he faced Carla. “Why…” Carla gritted her teeth, her nose and the lines on her forehead scrunching in disgust. “Why would you like that pretentious bitch? She is nothing like the capable woman you need by your side!”“Do you want someone who would always drag you down?” “That’s none of your business…” Robin shrugged. "But speaking of capable women. Are you really one?" He sneered, his eyes staring down at her mockingly.Carla felt his mockery deep within her bones. She had craved for his acceptance, wanted him all to herself after she realized her mistake, but Cora had to come in and destroy all that she had built.“I bet she doesn't
Confrontation 2
Cora was seething, hated the way Carla ignored her while she was still carrying the baggage of being locked up for days. And when she sat by Robin’s side, she lost it. Deep down in her heart, she hated the sight of them together. “Get off him! You bitch!” Cora yelled, and her hands flew straight at Carla, and in the next second, she hurled her off Robin’s side. The strength that rippled through her was like never before and swiftly, she threw Carla in the middle of the room, her back crashing into the glass table there. Cora breathed heavily, her chest heaving while she stared down at Carla who had her head dripping with blood. “Cora…” Carla was in shock, and coupled with the pain from her injured hand and leg, she felt so dizzy as if she was about to pass out. “Robin…” She cried, with shaky voice and tears streaming down her face. “Are you going to let her do this to me? Everything being said on the news is a lie! You saved me, right? You should believe me…”She rushed up to he
Confrontation
Two hours later…“We have her.” Mason walked into Robin’s luxurious home. He sat on the couch, his leg crossed over the other. “She has been transported to the guesthouse.” “Good.” Robin dropped the magazine in his hands. He had taken two days off work to concentrate on bringing Carla down the drain and he was doing it bit by bit. Breaking her wasn't enough for what she did to Cora. The so-called Chairman Wells who put a call across to her was all a facade. He did it all by himself and Carla had fallen directly into their trap. He walked up the stairs and reached his bedroom where Cora had been recuperating. As he walked in, she was already up on the bed, with a meek look on her face. She looked lost, as if she had been thrown into a deep abyss. There was a pale red mark on her face, though it was fading already, it was evidence of what she had gone through. “You are awake…” He got a glass of water from the jug by the bed and passed it to her. She took it, her hands shakily brou
Walk Of Humiliation
Carla froze, her hands moving to her face and her hair flailed by her sides to cover her face from everyone. But they had already seen her, as they all took up their phones to record her. “Shit…” She cursed as she quickly fished for her phone. At the same time, she rushed toward the elevators to quickly get to Terry’s office. However, the doors were locked, and nothing was working. “Terry, you bastard!” She cried. She never thought the news would blow up this much. It had just been a short while since the police raided her company building and now it was all over the news channels. She felt Chairman Wells was targeting her for no reason. It was against the code of conduct for their business!“Terry…pick up.” She dialed his phone over and over again and when he finally connected the call, she breathed a sigh of relief. “Where are you?” She barked into the phone. “I am right here…” He replied, his tone lazy as if fire had not been put under their bosom. “I saw you run into the compa
Former Promising Entrepreneur
“Hello, Chairman Wells.” Carla beamed as soon as she connected the call. Chairman Wells was her biggest guest at the business she now ran. “I know you received Cora well last night.”“Yes, I did. I got a little surprise too.” He replied, his voice calm on the phone and Carla didn't notice the shift in it.“Good.” She chuckled. “I am glad you liked it.” “Did you see the girl I sent you last night? How well do you like her?” She asked, referring to Daina whom she had sent to. “That’s a gift from me to you, on our continuous collaboration.”“You sent a gift?” “Yes.” Carla nodded. “Don’t worry. You can return her anytime you wish.”“I sent a gift to you too, Carla. I hope you enjoy it.”“What gift—”Beep! The call ended and she was left staring at her phone, her eyebrows furrowing. She felt something was quite off but she couldn't place it. And suddenly, the company’s intercom buzzed. At first, she ignored it but when it continued buzzing, she had to pick it up. “Boss..” Her assistan
Nowhere To Run To
Several hours had passed and right now, Chairman Wells was in the middle of a meeting with potential business partners. “Are you sure you can do what I ask?” He asked, his deep gaze sweeping through the room. “We are going against the prime minister and the board here, we can’t make any mistakes.”“Of course, we can. As long as our company doesn't go down. We will do whatever you want.” They replied. “Good.” Chairman Wells nodded. “I have laid the groundwork for you. I expect you to claim the Adams family wealth. I want something they have. Something they mustn't know they have.”“As you wish.” The business partners were more than eager to do whatever Chairman Wells said. After all, this was their chance to get their company back up again. Ever since James Westminster declared war on the Davenson family, all because of the bastard son Robin, all their investors and partners pulled out, claiming they didn't want the wrath of the board and the prime minister on them.
