“Take him away!” Carla ordered, shocked that Robin was trying to act like he called the shots. Robin had always had a prideful attitude that irked her so much, even though he was just a poor rat.

Now, she wanted to see how he would continue being proud behind bars.

She watched the police officers drag Robin out even after the warning he gave them. Carla now felt she was in power and nothing could stop her, and it was all due to Terry.

Speaking of Terry, she looked down at him again, shaking him awake.

“Are you okay?” She asked as he opened his eyes slowly.

Terry was disoriented and dizzy at first but then when he realized he lay in Carla’s arms in the middle of a mess, he shot up.

“Where is that bastard? I will teach him a lesson!” He barked, trying to look strong even though his head and jaw were ringing in pain. He didn't want to look less before Carla and Madam Kia. It was already shameful enough that he took a hit.

“Don’t worry. We have taught him a lesson on your behalf.” Madam Kia rushed forward, touching Terry to make sure he was okay.

“Really?” Terry smiled. “You did well then, Madam Kia.” He commended and she felt over the moon. Madam Kia wanted to do everything to make Terry comfortable, after all, he was their new oil well.

“Quick, come sit, Robin will never disturb us again.” She ushered him to the sofa in the sitting area and dragged Carla along. She then made Carla sit on his legs while she excused them.

They were left alone and Carla helped press the bump on the side of Terry’s face with a careful expression.

Looking at Terry, he wasn't as handsome as Robin but she didn't mind. Money was what made a man handsome after all.

“Thank you, Terry.” She kissed him on the lips and drew back. A look of gratitude displayed on her face, “You got the contract with Julls Corp for me. I shouldn’t have let that bastard touch you.”

However, Terry’s shocked gaze went unnoticed by Carla. “You got the contract?”

“Yes. You said you would put in a good word for me, didn't you?” She said, giving him another kiss.

“Yes…yes…” Terry stuttered, kissing her back. But in his mind, he was confused. Indeed, he had told his father about helping Carla but his father had rejected him instantly, saying the contract wasn't something they could get.

His father clearly stated their small family had no connections with the Julls Corp. How then was Carla able to get the contract, with a small company like hers?

“You will attend the signing event with me tonight, right?” Carla asked, squeezing herself in his arms.

“Yes, sure.” Terry nodded. He decided to take credit for the contract, after all, no one would call him out on that.

Seeing how Terry was so attentive to her, Carla felt fulfilled. She now had a man who called the shots and she couldn't wait to flaunt him everywhere, letting everyone know she was the latest girly in town.

Right in that office, Terry didn't spare Carla, he kissed her and even made out with her on the sofa, almost undressing her completely. It was until there was a knock on the door, they stopped.

They were breathless, with lust swimming in their eyes. Carla felt she was going crazy, due to their intense moment. It was something she had not enjoyed in months.

“I need to go now.” Terry stood up and quickly dressed up before the person at the door could enter.

“I will see you at the event tonight. Dress sexy, I want everyone to know you are my woman.” He said, spanking her butt before leaving.

Carla stood there, disheveled, and couldn't stop thinking about the crazy night they would have later. She would make sure she got Terry drunk so as to sleep with him and eventually get pregnant for him. That way, he would never leave her for another woman.

With those thoughts, brewing in her head, Carla ushered a few cleaners in to clear out the mess, however, she spotted the ring Robin had thrown at her earlier and surprisingly, she had never seen such a ring with Robin before.

“Give me that!” She ordered the cleaner holding onto it.

It was a jade ring and it was identical to the one she had. Carla ran to her bag and took out her ring, only to see that it was a pair with the one Robin had left with her.

“What is going on here?” She whispered, covering her mouth in disbelief.

The ring she had was taken from her best friend, Cora. Cora had said a man she liked once gave it to her and since she would never see the man again, Cora gave the ring to Carla.

And ever since then, Carla kept the ring and hoped to sell it for money soon. However, she never knew she had been fooled all along.

“Those bastards!” She screamed, and the cleaners froze in fear.

“They deceived me.” She cried, kicking at the piles of documents the cleaner had already arranged, creating another mess. The cleaners’ hearts broke, watching their work being spoiled.

“Ma’am, please, you can’t do this–”

“Get out!” Carla screamed in their faces. She was breathing heavily now, and it was as if a knife was being wrenched in her heart.

Carla watched the cleaners leave, with an eerie gaze in her eyes. If Robin was there, she would stab him a hundred times. He ranted about her cheating on him and yet, he was the one who had always been cheating with her best friend!

Carla felt the weight of betrayal and it was too heavy for her to bear.

So, she immediately took out her phone, ready to order Robin’s intense beating in police custody.

  • Broken And Dejected

Cora felt a pang of pain in her heart. However, she couldn't blame herself for just trying to show love. She had been damaged and bruised by Carla’s betrayal and her taunting words. In the next second, she staggered, her body almost falling back, but Robin caught her from behind. Her body was weak and frail, so he quickly carried her to the couch while he faced Carla. “Why…” Carla gritted her teeth, her nose and the lines on her forehead scrunching in disgust. “Why would you like that pretentious bitch? She is nothing like the capable woman you need by your side!”“Do you want someone who would always drag you down?” “That’s none of your business…” Robin shrugged. "But speaking of capable women. Are you really one?" He sneered, his eyes staring down at her mockingly.Carla felt his mockery deep within her bones. She had craved for his acceptance, wanted him all to herself after she realized her mistake, but Cora had to come in and destroy all that she had built.“I bet she doesn't

  • Confrontation 2

Cora was seething, hated the way Carla ignored her while she was still carrying the baggage of being locked up for days. And when she sat by Robin’s side, she lost it. Deep down in her heart, she hated the sight of them together. “Get off him! You bitch!” Cora yelled, and her hands flew straight at Carla, and in the next second, she hurled her off Robin’s side. The strength that rippled through her was like never before and swiftly, she threw Carla in the middle of the room, her back crashing into the glass table there. Cora breathed heavily, her chest heaving while she stared down at Carla who had her head dripping with blood. “Cora…” Carla was in shock, and coupled with the pain from her injured hand and leg, she felt so dizzy as if she was about to pass out. “Robin…” She cried, with shaky voice and tears streaming down her face. “Are you going to let her do this to me? Everything being said on the news is a lie! You saved me, right? You should believe me…”She rushed up to he

  • Confrontation

Two hours later…“We have her.” Mason walked into Robin’s luxurious home. He sat on the couch, his leg crossed over the other. “She has been transported to the guesthouse.” “Good.” Robin dropped the magazine in his hands. He had taken two days off work to concentrate on bringing Carla down the drain and he was doing it bit by bit. Breaking her wasn't enough for what she did to Cora. The so-called Chairman Wells who put a call across to her was all a facade. He did it all by himself and Carla had fallen directly into their trap. He walked up the stairs and reached his bedroom where Cora had been recuperating. As he walked in, she was already up on the bed, with a meek look on her face. She looked lost, as if she had been thrown into a deep abyss. There was a pale red mark on her face, though it was fading already, it was evidence of what she had gone through. “You are awake…” He got a glass of water from the jug by the bed and passed it to her. She took it, her hands shakily brou

  • Walk Of Humiliation

Carla froze, her hands moving to her face and her hair flailed by her sides to cover her face from everyone. But they had already seen her, as they all took up their phones to record her. “Shit…” She cursed as she quickly fished for her phone. At the same time, she rushed toward the elevators to quickly get to Terry’s office. However, the doors were locked, and nothing was working. “Terry, you bastard!” She cried. She never thought the news would blow up this much. It had just been a short while since the police raided her company building and now it was all over the news channels. She felt Chairman Wells was targeting her for no reason. It was against the code of conduct for their business!“Terry…pick up.” She dialed his phone over and over again and when he finally connected the call, she breathed a sigh of relief. “Where are you?” She barked into the phone. “I am right here…” He replied, his tone lazy as if fire had not been put under their bosom. “I saw you run into the compa

  • Former Promising Entrepreneur

“Hello, Chairman Wells.” Carla beamed as soon as she connected the call. Chairman Wells was her biggest guest at the business she now ran. “I know you received Cora well last night.”“Yes, I did. I got a little surprise too.” He replied, his voice calm on the phone and Carla didn't notice the shift in it.“Good.” She chuckled. “I am glad you liked it.” “Did you see the girl I sent you last night? How well do you like her?” She asked, referring to Daina whom she had sent to. “That’s a gift from me to you, on our continuous collaboration.”“You sent a gift?” “Yes.” Carla nodded. “Don’t worry. You can return her anytime you wish.”“I sent a gift to you too, Carla. I hope you enjoy it.”“What gift—”Beep! The call ended and she was left staring at her phone, her eyebrows furrowing. She felt something was quite off but she couldn't place it. And suddenly, the company’s intercom buzzed. At first, she ignored it but when it continued buzzing, she had to pick it up. “Boss..” Her assistan

  • Nowhere To Run To

Several hours had passed and right now, Chairman Wells was in the middle of a meeting with potential business partners. “Are you sure you can do what I ask?” He asked, his deep gaze sweeping through the room. “We are going against the prime minister and the board here, we can’t make any mistakes.”“Of course, we can. As long as our company doesn't go down. We will do whatever you want.” They replied. “Good.” Chairman Wells nodded. “I have laid the groundwork for you. I expect you to claim the Adams family wealth. I want something they have. Something they mustn't know they have.”“As you wish.” The business partners were more than eager to do whatever Chairman Wells said. After all, this was their chance to get their company back up again. Ever since James Westminster declared war on the Davenson family, all because of the bastard son Robin, all their investors and partners pulled out, claiming they didn't want the wrath of the board and the prime minister on them. They were all n
