The gate groaned shut behind him.

The armed guards didn’t follow. They didn’t need to. Inside the Glass House, there was no running, no escape. Only truth — and whatever pain came with it.

Elijah stepped across the floor of the hall,

The chandelier overhead sparkled.

He knew the house. He remembered every inch. Every lie.

He climbed the stairs two at a time.The guards had already radioed ahead. He wasn’t stopped.

At the end of the hallway, two oak doors stood, slightly ajar.

He didn’t knock.

He burst in.

And there he was.

Joshua Quinn.

Sitting behind a massive desk, his black robe falling from his shoulders. Eyes cold. Calm.

As if he’d been waiting.

“Elijah,” he said with a small smile. “You’ve finally arrived.”

Elijah didn’t answer.

Didn’t speak.

He crossed the room in three strides and grabbed his father by the collar, dragging him from the chair like a bag of bones.

Joshua didn’t resist. He merely raised an eyebrow, still smiling. “There it is,” he whispered. “That anger.”
