The room was silent.

Too silent for the storm it had just witnessed.

The gavel echoed for the final time.

“All evidence presented confirms guilt beyond reasonable doubt,” the judge announced, her voice iron-clad and cold. “On charges of corporate embezzlement, fraudulent tampering with public records, and obstruction of justice, this court hereby sentences Elijah Alexander Quinn to fifteen years in federal prison.”

A gasp swept through the courtroom.

Cameras rolled. Pens scratched across notepads. And whispers filled the gallery .
