Chapter twenty-five

Kain's POV

Sally assumed that I wanted to use her as a backup plan, and still followed me to the graveyard.

According to her, she was willing to die, to break the curse. She had always wanted to be a superhero, so she didn't mind sacrificing herself to save Kerah and the future of the Skanda females.

"I promise you I didn't have such plans." She laughed again. She was laughing and crying. She used her palm to wipe the tears off and then used her face towel to blow her nose.

And after she was done, she burst into laughter again.

"Everything you have said is funny because you failed to know the true identity of who you have been dating."

She drew closer to me and traced my steps away from her.

"Listen, I can read minds." Sally looked around the cemetery as if to confirm that we were all alone, and we were.

She sighed and nodded in disappointment.

"You did think I was so naive?"
