Chapter 1

"You fool, I never should have trusted you." A bottle of water sprinkled all over Elvis's body, sending a cold wave of chills down his spine.

Andrew took a glance at his already wet dress, returning his gaze to his boss, blazing with so much fury as confusion flooded his face.

"But what have I done wrong?" He could not hold back all the urge that was pushing him to say.

"What have you done wrong? You still have the guts to spill lies on my face?" Mr. Fred's angry tone resounded in the room.

Andrew's thoughts spun around as to what he could have done wrong. But no matter how hard he tried to wrap his head around it, he could not come to any conclusion.

When his boss invited him to his office, he thought that he was going to give him a promotion just as he had always wanted but it turned out that he was wrong.

Mr. Fred got up from his seat, slapping him on his face as his hands flushed with anger.

"You knew that we were going to submit our application to the Gerald Family group Long chain project this week but you decided to leak our business strategy to our competitors?" His hands were clenched with so much anger until they popped but Fred knew absolutely nothing of what he was talking about.

Elvis' hands were clenched to his aching face. But the burning sensation was nothing compared to the pain of being accused for something that he knew absolutely nothing about.

And to make things worse, he wasn't even given the slightest opportunity to explain himself.

The previous day, during one of his late night clean ups, Elvis was the last person to leave the place as he was forced by his boss and thus, he found a sheet lying on the floor which he returned to his boss the next morning.

But now, it seemed like his good intentions was going to be used against him

"I didn't do any such thing, sir. I have always been loyal to this company. If this company goes down, that means that I am also going to lose my means of livelihood. I can swear with my life that I didn't do it and say" He tried to assure his boss but he was not going to believe even a single word of it.

A frown escaped clouded his face as he turned around towards his drawer, as it was opened.

"You were the only one that had access to it apart from the drafting team. Now tell me. Who else could have done it?

“From the last time that I checked, you are so broke that your in-laws treat you like a filthy rag. Wouldn't it have been easy to get you a meal for the company's secret?” Mr. Fred snapped with anger.

It's obvious that you had sold it out to our competitors, didn't you?" Mr. Fred flared up.

"And to think that you had good intentions." He scoffed.

"I should have known that a broke ass like you couldn't keep secrets."

"I swear sir that I didn't, you have to believe me." He was about to say but another slap landed swiftly on his face.

"Another lie from you and going to make sure that I cut that lying tongue off from your body " He bolted with a frown sitting on his face.

"Now before I open my eyes and close it, I want you out of my company." Mr. Fred roared at him with so much anger.

Elvis's face brightened with so much shock knowing exactly what that might be. Before getting that job, that was the most difficult thing for him to do. Losing the job meant that he was going to be jobless for the next three days.

His lungs snapped out of the air as a stream of sweat flooded from the corner of his face.

"I can swear sir that I know absolutely nothing about it."

His boss came over to him, clutching him tightly by his shirt as he said.

"Are you still standing there punk? Just wait until we get more evidence, then your problem would be getting a lawyer so that you don't rot in jail. Which obviously you will never be able to afford." He growled.

The words sent swift shivers down his spine almost immediately.

Walking over to the walkie-talkie that had been lying on the table, he laid a message across to the chief security officer with a frown still on his face.

"Henry, please get down here right away." Mr. Fred's voice lashed out at sudden urgency to the speaker at the other end.

"Okay sir! I will be at your office right away." The person at the other end responded and Mr. Fred placed an end to the conversation.

Soon, a chill wind blew into the office as a result of the door that was pulled open and three security Officers made their way into the place.

"You called sir and your voice sounded pretty urgent." Henry, who was the leader of the team, walked gradually towards Mr. Fred with a slight bow.

"Take that piece of trash away and make sure that he never comes back." Mr. Fred returned and at this point, he knew that there was absolutely nothing that he could do about it.

A slight sigh escaped from his lips as he walked out of the office and everyone seemed to be waiting for him outside

They all stared at him with so much disgust, hatred, and irritation written all over their faces. They never really liked him in the first place. He had always assumed the position of the company's garbage.

"I knew that he was certainly up to no good right from the very first day that he stepped foot into this company." He heard the voice of the official butler who used to be the only one that talked to him.

His head was bowed as he walked away, the world around him came crashing down on him and he could hardly bear the weight.

Suddenly, they started throwing all sorts of trashy objects after him while he shielded his face from all the messy stuff that flew swiftly towards his direction.

"Fool. He is going to make our company fold up."

"Such a piece of trash. People like him aren't supposed to live." More trash rained on him as he quickly made his way out of the hall.

Even though the security officers tried to stop everyone from throwing thrash towards his direction, they would not stop.

Walking swiftly, Elvis made his way out of the hall, gasping for breath when he eventually got outside.

He got to a beach at the edge of the Street, his hands placed over his cheeks as multiple sighs escaped from his mouth.

He could hardly think straight and his thoughts were flooded with so much pain.

Soon, his phone made a beeping sound making him get his cracked cell phone from his pocket

He paired it with a pain in his eyes. It was his marriage anniversary and to think that he was not going to get any gift struck him in the heart.

He had always anticipated that he was going to get Sonia the best gift ever after getting his pay today but it turned out that the universe was against him.

Apart from not getting any pay, he also lost his job.

There was pain in his eyes as he brought out his phone and placed a call across the Sonia.

His cell phone beeped multiple times but there was no response from the other end.

"Maybe she is just busy with work." He said swiftly to himself.

He finally decided that he was going to head home swiftly. Clutching to the last bill that he had in his pockets, he took a cab that headed home.

To his greatest surprise, the door of the house was wide open. Confusion flooded his mind as to what could be going on.

Elvis's steps were keen as he walked gradually into the living room only to meet a handful of people.

His eyes paired at every face that surfaced in the room. They were that of his in-laws but this got him even more confused than he was already.

"What are they doing here?" He thought in his head once again.

They had disapproved of his marriage with Sonia, especially his mother-in-law and because of him, they had been chased away from the family Villa to leave alone.

"Until Sonia comes back to her right senses." The words of his mother-in-law rang in his head multiple times.

"What's going on here? What are you doing here?" He could not help it but inquired but they seemed to ignore his statement.

Elvis heard the sound of footsteps from behind, making him turn around slowly. His Jaws parted with shock at what laid before him

He is finely dressed in her best outfit.

"What's going on hubby? What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at work? Is anything...." Elvis made multiple Inquiries at the same time.

But before he could even finish his statement, something really strange happened.

A strange hand crawled around that of his wife and he turned around swiftly towards him.

It was the youngest millionaire in the city, Mayor Dustin.

"Babe?" We should get going already, he said and the words struck him like a flash of lightning.
