Just as Adam was about to give up in frustration, something caught his eye.

The droplet of blood he had placed on the divine code was thinning, sinking into the surface as if the metal were alive. Slowly, almost imperceptibly, it disappeared.

His pulse quickened. His instincts had been right.

Though the metal remained unchanged, the fact that it had absorbed his blood meant there was a hidden mechanism within. His heart pounded with renewed determination as he pricked his finger again, allowing more drops to fall.

To his surprise, the relic was far hungrier than he expected. One drop vanished. Then another. Then another. Dozens of milliliters of blood soaked into it, greedily devoured until Adam’s arm grew weak.

A lesser man would have collapsed by now, but Adam’s cultivation kept him steady. Even so, a thin sheen of sweat appeared across his brow. The process was draining—but with each pulse of his lifeblood absorbed, something within the divine code began to stir.

At first, it was o

Before Adam could even steady his footing from dodging the golden dart, danger descended again.A chilling gust split the air as a figure shot down from above, dagger gleaming like a fang of death. The strike came fast, fierce, and merciless, carrying enough power to cleave through steel and stone alike. The very air howled under the pressure of the blow.Adam’s pupils contracted. He felt the weight of the strike—it wasn’t ordinary. The sheer killing intent pressed against his skin like burning needles. He couldn’t afford to be careless. In a fluid motion, he whipped out his custom-forged saber, its steel singing as it cut through the air.Clang! The impact rang out like thunder. Dagger and saber collided in an explosion of sparks, the clash so violent it sent a blinding shower of embers scattering across the ground. The force behind the strike was monstrous. A wave of raw energy erupted from the collision, blasting the dust and gravel outward like a storm. The attacker was thrown bac

“I’ll let them go, certainly,” Phoenix King drawled, his tone mocking, his eyes glinting with cruelty behind the mask. “But not yet. First, we’ll deal with you. Then, when you’re lying broken at my feet, they’ll have to entertain us. They’ll play the finest of adult games. I promise you, Supreme General, it will be… an unforgettable performance.”The words dripped with filth, and the guards behind him chuckled darkly, feeding on his brazenness.Adam’s eyes turned to ice. His voice was sharp enough to cut stone. “Phoenix King, I’ll give you one last chance. Release them now, and perhaps I’ll grant you a quick death. Refuse…” His aura surged like a tide of blades. “…and I’ll make you regret ever being born.”Phoenix King let out a disdainful laugh, shaking his head as though listening to a child’s tantrum. “Still so arrogant, Adam. Still so blind. Do you really think I’d call you here without making full preparations? You won’t be leaving this place alive.”Adam’s lips curled into a thi

At first, Adam had been certain Phoenix King was working with the Marhood family. After all, Zaros Point belonged to them, and Phoenix King had twice invited him there. The logic had been simple. But when he learned the ship belonged to the Marlowe family, his eyes turned colder than steel. So they were involved as well.A glint of killing intent flickered in his gaze. He had spared the Marlowes because they had kept to their own business, but instead of showing gratitude, they chose to collude with Phoenix King and pit themselves against him. Ungrateful vermin. And the Marhoods—blood ties or not, if they dared to harbor Phoenix King again, then they too had chosen death.Adam’s jaw tightened as his resolve hardened. Once this matter was resolved, both families would learn what it meant to provoke him.The passenger ship cut across the waves with surprising speed, its hull slicing the water as if driven by urgency. By the time the sun dipped toward the horizon, painting the sea in str

Dracula’s sharp eyes caught the hunger in Romeo’s expression. A faint smile tugged at his lips as he spoke, his tone smooth but laced with calculation.“Mr. Treg, restrain your impatience. Once the Supreme General is dead, you may choose one of the two women as you please.”Romeo’s face lit up with twisted delight. He leaned forward, his lewd grin wide enough to bare his yellowed teeth. “An excellent idea, Mr. Alvora. Thank you! Hahaha!”His laughter was low and revolting, but genuine. For all his wealth and power, Romeo had long grown bored of women who threw themselves at him. He had many concubines, countless lovers, and more fleeting pleasures than he could count. But when he thought of Tessa’s icy beauty and Winda’s ethereal charm, a different kind of thrill surged in his chest. What excited him most wasn’t merely their looks, but their origins. Women of Aloria were too shameless, too accustomed to flaunting themselves. They gave themselves away freely, robbing him of the satisfa

Adam’s jaw tightened, a cold fire blazing in his eyes. He knew exactly what kind of man Phoenix King was. A viper who never showed mercy, a traitor without honor. With Tessa and Winda in his hands, there was no telling what torment they might already be enduring. Every wasted second gnawed at Adam’s chest like knives. He had to move, and he had to move now.“Mr. Manchester,” Stacey spoke cautiously, breaking the heavy silence. “Since the enemy asked you to come alone, that means he’s prepared. He’ll be waiting for you with an ambush. It’s too dangerous to walk into this trap by yourself. I think you should bring more men, maybe even mobilize the Supreme Nexus guard.”Adam turned his head, his expression unshakable. “I’ll go alone.” His voice was low but carried the weight of an oath.“Alone?” Stacey frowned deeply. “That’s madness! Even if you are strong, Phoenix King isn’t the type to fight fair. He’ll have allies, and they won’t fight you head-on. They’ll use hostages. They’ll use t

  • Chapter 463

Adam shook his head with a bitter smile. He had finally uncovered the secret of the divine code, yet the triumph tasted hollow. The cultivation method carved into the metal piece was beyond priceless, but it was useless to him for now. A treasure he could see but not touch.A pang of disappointment pressed on his chest, but he forced it aside. Self-pity was a luxury he couldn’t afford. With a steadying breath, he adjusted his mindset and pushed open the door to leave his chamber. The moment he stepped out, Dante rushed toward him. His eyes were wide, his expression tense, as if he had been pacing for hours waiting for Adam to emerge.“Supreme General, you’re finally out!” Dante’s relief was obvious, but there was no time to savor it.Adam’s gaze sharpened. “What happened?”Dante hesitated for only a second before blurting out, “Stacey just called. Lord Nyra has been kidnapped.”Adam froze. The words struck him like a blade to the heart. His face darkened instantly. “What?” His voice w
