Chapter 11: Laura

In the Meowky Lodging house, the sunset had risen, Xiang Monji woke up, Elianor knocked on the door and greeted his young master.

She smile in enthusiasm and greet,

"Rise and Shine young master,"

She prepared the clothes for Xiang Monji, then Xiang Monji washed his face and took a face towel that Elianor had given to him and then took a change of clothes.

After he changes clothes he eats his breakfast, after that he would go window shopping, take a quest in the guild to earn some tales and buy things in preparation for improvising Maven city that he is assigned to govern.

Maven City is at the back of the mountain, it is an independent military city, its role is to vanguard against the wave of the beast, protect and serve the people.

If Maven city will fall, the mountain is useful to buy time for the Province of Yami to make preparations.

Although the Province of Yami has a chance to boost their economic power by assimilating the city of Maven, the officials of the Province of Yami chose not to.

There are three factors why they didn't approve of assimilation.

First of all Maven City is a military city, it's not a commercial city, therefore they won't gain a revenue, instead Maven city is a liability to them, for instance food, accommodation and supply is a must to run Maven city which requires a huge amount of tales/spiritual stones to operate.

Second is, Maven city is not worth as an investment , the city is at the brink of destruction due to relentless attack of the beast.

Third, the Military city is an independent city own and govern by the Grand Duke Landeros Von Monji.

As much as the residents want to get a shelter in the Yami province, they can't, since they have to cross on the steep and deep mountain and most of all their entry is rejected, because they aren't part of the residency of Yami province.

Individuals who reside in Maven city are just cannon fodders, for cultivators who reside in Maven City, they can't leave their family behind, which are commoner and mortals.

As much as they want to leave, they cannot leave their post, for a fact that they have a family that needs protection.

Xiang Monji went window shopping and sightseeing in Ming city, it was bustling, from left and right, the side brimming with stall vendors side by side, some were selling skewers, buns, etc.

To the West of the city is a business district where big businesses are established. The Pill hall, Guild Tower, Smith shop, armor shop Auction house, and etc.

At the North side are prominent residential areas, the East side is the red light district and entertainment area,as for the south is where the common residential areas are.

Xiang Monji went to the business district, he went alone since he didn't want Elianor to follow him and restrict him from the things he wanted to do like visiting a brothel in the East.

Xiang Monji went to buy skewers in a food stall, the moment he tried to take a bite of his skewer, he got a bump from a teenage girl.

The teenage girl grabs his clothes, and beg for his help.

The four soldiers were starting to charge at him in a fast pace, then Xiang Monji Activated his domain to use area of effect and buff his skill, after that he use gravity 100 times the earth's gravity, times 0.50 with the buff effect of domain, a total of 150 times the earth's gravity.

They pause within 2 seconds because of the restraint of the gravity. Xiang Monji uses a swift step to boost his speed, he teleport each and every one of those four soldiers, materialize his spiritual ki into dagger and slit their necks within 1 second before they could react, in other words Xiang Monji slither their neck within 0.25 seconds each.

In an instant, they die without being able to lay a finger towards him.

After the fight, Xiang Monji looted their bodies. He found 200 tales of silver all in all, 1 yellow lower grade Martial art book and three grade 1 level pills.

They left the body behind without a proper burial in the forest, and directly went to the direction where the teenage girl's sister's is located.

While they were going, Xiang Monji asked the name of the teenage girl.

"Lady, what is your name?"

"Uhm, name? My name is Laura"

"uhm, what a cute name reminds me of Florante and Laura during my high school years in my old world."
