Chapter 10: So many good things

As he was relaxing, the same lady brought to him a plate of desserts to enjoy and left him to himself.

“Thank you, this looks tantalising!“ Blade complimented.

“It's a special treat for special guests” The lady replied somewhat charmingly as she turned around to her station.

Blade couldn't help but feel that this female was really conversational. She answered his questions with politeness and a smile but best of all she answered in a manner that made him feel comfortable.

Blade smiled warmly as he looked at the desserts and reminisced about the times before the magnetic eruption. It was still a bit better to eat something he had almost forgotten. The last five years of him breaking into the superhuman level had almost looked like a decade to him.

The dessert he always had at his fingertips over 11 years ago was now distant to him. He put the tropical juice to his lips and took a sip of its refreshing taste. As he savoured what he was being served, he took the time to review his plans over to ensure there was no mistake involved.

Not quite long after, there was a buzz at the door and the lady attendant who attended to him went forward to open it.

The door opened, and in came a middle aged man who looked to be in his late forties.

He had this stoic and professional air about him that screamed the word 'Business man'. He looked like a very experienced businessman and his eyes were filled with the light of his wisdom.

There was a hint of grey at the front of his head that made him look older and wiser but overall, he looked like a role model of the business world.

Looking at Blade, the man showed a hint of surprise on his face but quickly regained his composure.

How could he not know the infamous and popular eligible bachelor in the base? He was practically every woman's dreams. Moreover, he also had an unknown identity.

"Good day Mr Blade" The man broke the silence. "I am the head administrator in charge of the resource materials department and you may call me J.B Tules " Tules introduced himself.

"Oh! Hi Mr Tules!" Blade broke into a warm smile that lightened the atmosphere. "I've heard so much about you before now" Blade said nonchalantly even if he had never heard a dime about Tules.

The corner of JB Tules mouth twitched lightly. Almost everyone had heard of his name but to hear a 'lot' it was clear as day that he was talking to a professional liar.

"What can I expect from the resource material department?" Blade asked.

"There a a lot of things that you currently lack” Tules said observingly before bringing out a little booklet from a briefcase that the attendant was holding.

“This is a list of possible things to exchange for and it was specially prepared for you, have a look" Mr Tules handed a booklet to Blade.

Examining the booklet, Blade nodded thoughtfully.

There were so many good things but at the same time so many of them were expensive.

His eyes fell on the first thing listed at the top that was also the most expensive of them all.

An anti magnetic suit! This was very important to him than the one on him. This suit at the top of the list was much more advanced than the common one he was still wearing. The durability was much more better than the one he was wearing and its specs were….

Totally in line with his thoughts. What body shape? This was automatically size fitting! Look at the model, the AMAG30X52 body suit was an epic equipment to use!.

This was an extension of the AMAG series that recently came out. The '52' behind was the 52nd type that was produced.

Now he couldn't wait to check the others…

It seems this resource department's intelligence was notable. Anyways, when people come together in one place it increases the control over people to a certain extent.

Maybe, the look in his eyes when he looked at others advanced suits betrayed his emotions at that time.

Or….. It could be that girlfriend of Anne's. That one that usually stops him just to say some weird words and behave strangely. What was her name again?

Sure! He'd forgotten her name maybe it was her or that friend of his.

Tyler the talk-star or whatever he calls himself. It should definitely be him or…..

Whatever! There is a whole lot of things to have and he was here thinking about others. Were they here to influence his decision? Nope!

Everything depended on his choice!

'Who cares if they're monitoring me or not?'

Blade threw the matter to the back of his mind as he focused on the main things in front of him.

Yeeeeeeah! This looks really good.

Common equipments, Rare equipments even epic equipments were present!

This made Blade raise an eyebrow as he asked,

"Mr Tules ae you sure this epic equipment isn't a sham? Or is it some kind of incentive to motivate scavengers?"

Mr. Tules looked at the insufferable young man in front of him and decided not to interact too much with him. He felt like interacting with this young man would make him lose his cool image and wittiness.

'It better to be short and concise when talking to him' he reminded himself

"It is real, would you like to redeem this equipment?" he asked as professionally as possible.

"Oh! Never mind" Blade quickly dissuaded himself from the thought of buying such expensive equipment from the resource department after all there was still the black market. See the sky-high price in front of it. A whooping 500 holy Magnetic tokens!

If he went to the black market, he might find something like this just that its quality would be questionable, and also, to use the black market, he would need the right channels and connections.

Heck! He isn't insane yet as to buy such an expensive thing. Even if he sold himself, he probably wouldn't have as much value. Let him check the level of his wealth could carry for now.

The value of each equipment was based on its rarity and power levels of the equipment. For example,

offensive, defensive, and auxiliary weapons were classified into six classes. They were; Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Ancient, and Holy relics.

Their estimated prices are:

(Note: Magnetic tokens would be shortened to MTK)

Common equipment: 50 MTK - 350 MTK

Rare equipment: 500 - 2000 MTK

Epic equipment: 2,500 - 4000 MTK

Legendary equipment: 5,000 - 10,000 MTK

Ancient equipment: 50,000 MTK (if at all it is available)

Holy relics: NOT FOR SALE.

Everything has a price they say, but still, there are some things that money can't buy for instance, Holy relics are far and few between. It is so rare to the extent that only three Peak Grade Emperors are known to have Holy relics or artifacts. Most of their arsenals consist of Legendary grade weapons, hence the scarcity of Legendary weapons on the market. Hence, the Epic equipment became the next best thing to use and the most sought-after. This in turn elevated the posts of weapon artificers to a whole new level. Weapon artificers became respected and treated with care to enable them to bring out their best.

This is sace bending technology in its early stages. The more advanced type can actually fold a space of over five times the actual size of this place.““My God! I thought the alliance said that space bending technology wasn't developed yet?“ Blade said incredulously.“You don't expect the alliance to tell you some of the information it calls classified right? But still, that's why most of you first timers are always so shocked and curious about everything here. You guys behave pretty much like country bimpkins down here and it isn't that har

Hovering holographic reindeer, and magnetic orbs emitting a soft, colorful glow. Each ornament seemed to defy gravity, suspended in mid-air.Some restaurants served different Grades of superhuman delicacies and hotels catered to the needs of starved females of this era. When they got outside, they hailed a maglev air car that lifted off in the direction of the Aeromag transit hubs. While staring out the window, with Imelda beside him, Blade broke the silence, “This city looks very beautiful, with the mix of technology and its unique culture. The Polaris dome that covers the city also serves the city as a source of light which gives it a futuristic and sci-fi blue glow. Overall, it's a place to escape from the harsh realities of the surface”“Unfortunately, this is just one of the bases of people who get transferred in and out to complete dangerous missions. Most of them do not even have the time to enjoy this luxury like a King would. Rather, it is meant to facilitate the convenience of these workaholic agents” Imelda explained.“Most of the outfits help to reduce the stress that intelligence collecting brings. Some of them have various emergency measures that could even stop the assaults of Grade Five existences”Nodding in affirmation, Blade continu

While Blade was still ruminating on the consequences of what he just learned and understood about this world, his father and his goals, Imelda's voice broke his train of thoughts.“You keep interrupting me before I can finish my answers why is it that you can't wait for my complete explanation?““Oh! That?“ Blade quickly realized that he had interrupted her many times during their conversation and he in turn always ended up with half baked answers. “I'm terribly sorry, I'll try not to do that once more.““Much better, I would be expecting that you do not stop me from continuing my speech” Imelda said with satisfaction while her eyes curved up llike crescent moons which dictated some sort of happy triumph within. “Currently, I'm considered a Grade Four guardian in my clan and…” Imelda stared sharply at Blade before growling in frustration “No! no! no you won't! Don't you dare interrupt me until I signify that I'm done!” Imelda felt a bit frustrated when she noticed Blade shifting unco

I have every reason to believe that everything was arranged because I was also sent to get something from that underground tunnel” Instead of continuing with her sentennce, she diverged a bit.“I guessed as much because there is just a one percent chance of meeting your kind out there” Blade spoke.“I heard about Degoserinds but I know that they are rarely seen.
