CHAPTER 11:

The moment Sly’s acidic breath hit the calcified silk doors, a violent HISS echoed through the corridor. The black silk began to boil, turning into a foul liquid sludge that melted away to reveal the dark interior of the IMAX theater.

The auditorium was a nightmare landscape. Rows of velvet seats had been ripped up and piled around the room's perimeter to form a massive, circular nesting bowl. In the center, resting directly beneath the giant shattered screen, sat a monster that dwarfed the previous Orc Overlord in pure mass.

It was a monstrous, ten-foot-tall, fifteen-foot-wide spider queen. Her bloated abdomen was a translucent purple, filled with hundreds of glowing, unhatched eggs shifting beneath her skin. Her eight legs were thick as tree trunks, covered in iron-hard chitin spikes. Eight massive black eyes locked onto Mark the moment he stepped through the doorway.

[REGIONAL MINI-BOSS IDENTIFIED]

Name: Marsha the Silk Brood Mother (Elite Class)

Level: 10

Combat Power: 280

Area Trait: Hive Network — Gains a 20% defensive shield as long as her eggs remain undamaged.

"Two hundred and eighty combat power with a defensive shield," Mark analyzed quietly, his blue interface calculating the tactical data in real-time. "She's weaker than Trogon in raw offensive power, but that defensive shield will make her a sponge if we attack her directly. We clear the eggs first."

The Brood Mother let out a deafening, clicking screech that vibrated right through Mark's skull. Slamming her front two legs into the concrete floor, a wave of sharp, subterranean silk spikes erupted from the ground, racing straight toward Mark's position.

"Zephyr, Thunder Bolt on the egg sacks! Shadow, distract her front line!" Mark commanded, his voice sharp and authoritative.

Zephyr spread his majestic silver wings, the blue arcs of electricity dancing across his feathers pooling into a massive, blinding orb. With a fierce cry, he unleashed [Thunder Bolt]. A jagged beam of high-voltage electricity shot down, completely bypassing the Brood Mother and striking the circular nest of purple eggs directly under the shattered screen.

KABOOM!

The electrical explosion was catastrophic for the hive. Hundreds of glowing eggs cooked instantly, bursting into clouds of foul purple smoke.

[SYSTEM ALERT]

50% of Hive Eggs Destroyed!

Brood Mother’s Defensive Shield Collapsed by 50%!

Marsha the Brood Mother screeched in agonizing rage. Turning her massive head upward, her mandibles snapped violently as she prepared to spray a stream of lethal, corrosive web silk at Zephyr to drag him down from the air.

Before she could fire, Shadow executed [Shadow Step]. The midnight-black Hellhound sank into the shadows of the ruined seats and re-emerged directly on the left side of the Brood Mother's face. Shadow opened his jaws, wrapped in freezing black fire, and clamped down with an [Abyssal Bite] right onto her cluster of main eyes.

CRUNCH!

Sharp teeth shattered the tough chitin exterior, injecting dark corrosive energy straight into her sensory organs. The Brood Mother thrashed wildly, her massive legs swinging like clubs. One spiked leg caught Shadow squarely in the shoulder, throwing him across the theater. Shadow landed nimbly on his feet, though his health bar dipped slightly.

"Sly, finish her! Corrosive Constriction!" Mark commanded mentally.

While the giant spider thrashed blindly, Sly moved with terrifying efficiency. Slithering through the rubble, his heavy iron scales rattled as he looped his massive length completely around the Brood Mother's bloated abdomen.

Sly coiled tighter and tighter, using his full muscular force. The interlocking iron scales on his belly sizzled with intense acid, melting right through the queen's soft hide.

SKRRRCH!

Under the crushing pressure of [Corrosive Constriction], the Brood Mother's bloated body couldn't hold. Her abdomen burst open, releasing a flood of green fluids and dissolving tissue. She let out a final, weak clicking sound before her massive legs collapsed, pinning her to the floor.

A warm, radiant golden light washed over Mark and his three companions as they leveled up simultaneously. Mark felt his physical senses expand even further, the mental connection through [Shared Senses] becoming so clear he could practically feel the wind passing through Zephyr's feathers down to the millimeter.

He walked over to the steaming remains of the Brood Mother, picked up the floating green skill book, and pressed his palm onto it. The book dissolved into green light and integrated into his mind.

"An active defense buff," Mark murmured, a cold look of satisfaction settling on his face. "This is exactly what Sly needs to become an unkillable front-line tank."

He reached down to collect the Abyssal Venom Core and the Elite-Grade Storage Ring, stowing them into his primary space. With the third-floor theater completely cleared, the upper deck of his mall fortress was officially secure.

Right as he turned to walk back to the escalators, his [Shared Senses] picked up a violent commotion coming from the ground-floor entrance gates.

Mr. Shola's panicked voice echoed through the mental link, thick with terror: "Lord Mark! Help! There are armed humans at the southern loading docks! They... they have guns, and their leader is on the leaderboard!"

Mark’s eyes turned cold as ice. He stroked Shadow’s black head.

"It looks like our first uninvited guests have arrived. Let's go welcome them."

Behind him, the dark water of the reservoir pool was completely smooth, like a sheet of black glass. There was no sign of Kraken, his newly bound Abyssal Leviathan, nor was there any trace of Sly or Shadow. His beasts had entirely dissolved into the surrounding darkness and water using their active stealth abilities. To anyone walking into the chamber, Mark looked like a lone, exhausted teenager trapped in the dark underbelly of the city."Hold it right there! Hands where I can see them!"A harsh, authoritative voice barked from the entrance archway. A tactical flashlight beam sliced through the thick, sulfurous air, blindingly illuminating Mark’s face.Seven human hunters marched onto the platform,

The narrow subway tunnel suddenly opened up into a cavernous underground junction—the central metropolitan water treatment reservoir. Through [Shared Senses], his night vision was absolute. He was looking through Shadow’s crimson eyes, mapping the underwater currents through the subtle heat-receptors of Sly’s iron scales.
