Chapter 1
Betrayal and Rebirth
CHAPTER ONE
âRubyâŠâ Zane called out into the dark, windy snow. âPlease, open the door. Itâs freezing out here. I canât bear this cold anymoreâŠâ
He cried out, but there was no response.
âMom! Edgar! Open the door and undo the chain, please! Iâll listen to you nowâI wonât make a fuss about the supplies, I promiseâŠâ
Zaneâs voice was breaking as he struggled to speak.
âOh? Too late for you to beg now.â
MadelynâZaneâs adopted motherâappeared behind the glass door with a vicious expression. Beside her stood Edgar, her son⊠and in his arms was Zaneâs fiancée, Ruby.
Zaneâs pupils constricted. He struggled against the chains binding his hands.
âRuby! What are you doing in Edgarâs arms? Move away from him and help me, please! Iâm going to dieâŠâ
His voice was already fading. Ruby laughed.
âMove away? You must be crazy, Zane. Edgar and I are a thing. Weâve been dating for three years now. You just didnât notice, did you?â
Zane trembled violently in the snow. His lips parted, but no sound came out. He was dying.
âHow could youâŠâ
Three years ago⊠that was the beginning of the apocalypse. The time when he left every day, risking his life to scavenge for food and supplies. And while he was gone⊠she was with Edgar.
âWhy⊠why betray me?â he cried. Tears froze as they slid down his face. Zane clutched the chain tied to the peach blossom tree with his calloused, frostbitten hands, trying desperately to break freeâbut it was useless.
âOh please, Zane,â Ruby sneered. âDid you really think I liked you? If not for Edgar asking me to give you some cheap, fake love, I never would have bothered. Consider it entertainment.â
Edgar laughed and pulled Ruby closer. He kissed her passionately, then looked straight at Zane.
âYouâve always been too disobedient. And you donât know how to love and care for your fiancée. Ruby is mineâso donât get depressed thinking about us, okay?â
He smirked and led Ruby back inside. Madelyn stared at Zane coldly. She pushed open the door and stepped into the icy snow, her thick winter boots crunching loudly as she approached.
She crouched down and deliberately stepped on his frostbitten feet. A painful groan tore from his throat.
âListen carefully and be a good son, alright?â she said calmly. âIf you survive this punishment, you must never cross Edgar again.â She pressed down harder. âYour only duty is to scavenge supplies for us. Donât be greedy. Edgar is your younger cousinâheâs frail and needs them more than you. A little sacrifice wonât hurt⊠right?â
She smiled cruelly before stepping away.
âI⊠understandâŠâ Zane whispered, unable to endure the cold any longer. His face was pale as paper, his lips cracked from the freezing air. âM-Mother⊠please⊠let me inside⊠Iâll scavenge more for you⊠I willâŠâ
But Madelyn had already turned away. âDonât call me mother. I am not your mother.â
The door slammed shut. The curtains were drawn.
Zane coughed uncontrollably as despair consumed him. His family had lied to him. His fiancée had betrayed him. Every hardship he had endured replayed in his mind.
If only he had knownâŠ
If only he could turn back timeâŠ
If only he could rewrite everythingâŠ

âThis foolish boy! Must you compete with Edgar for everything?! That necklace must be in his name.â
Zane gasped. He shot upright, eyes wide as he looked around the room. Warmth surrounded him.
Wait⊠Wasnât he dead? How⊠was he still alive?
Zane hurriedly reached into his pocket and pulled out his old button phone. His fingers trembled as he checked the date.
11th August, 2026.
His eyes widened. It was real. He had truly been rebornâtwenty days before the apocalypse.
A slow smile spread across his face.
This time⊠he would change everything.
âIâm talking to you, and you have the guts to laugh?!â Madelynâs shrill voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
Zane looked up at them calmly.
âI will be the one to sign ownership of the Dreamshade Ocean for the auction,â Edgar said, a wolfish smile spreading across his face.
Zane scoffed inwardly. In his previous life, he had agreed. He had handed over his motherâs heirloom, believing it was for a good cause. But during the auction, it sold for five hundred million dollars⊠and he received nothing.
This time, things would be different. He needed moneyâa lot of itâfor supplies, food, shelter⊠everything required to survive the coming apocalypse. And this necklace was the perfect starting point.
âNo,â Zane said firmly. âI refuse.â
The room fell silent.
âWhy should I hand over the last thing my mother left me?â he continued coldly. âWould you do the same if you were me?â
âYouâ!â Madelyn trembled with rage, her face twisting.
âYou should hand it over while Iâm still being polite,â Edgar said darkly. âDonât come crying when I decide to use force to take it.â
Zane sneered. âGo ahead. Use violence if you want. But this necklace will never be in your name.â
âYou rebellious brat!â Madelyn snapped. âHow dare you refuse your brother? Itâs not like you can make any use of it! Just hand it over and stop being difficult.â
She raised her hand to slap himâ
But before it could land, Zane grabbed her wrist mid-air and shoved her aside without hesitation. Edgar quickly caught her before she fell.
âYou donât hate punishing me,â Zane said coldly. âYou enjoy it. So stop pretending to be a heartbroken mother forced to discipline her son.â
Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked toward the door.
âYouâll never be able to afford to auction that necklace. The highest youâll get is some change at a pawn house,â Madelyn tried again. âBring it and youâll get some percentage after the sale.â
Zane scoffed. He twisted the knob, then paused and glanced back.
âIâll be twenty-two in a week,â he said calmly. âAccording to my fatherâs will, Iâll officially take over all my familyâs assets.â A faint smile tugged at his lips. âInstead of worrying about the Dreamshade Ocean, I hope youâre ready⊠to move outâand return everything that belongs to me.â
Madelynâs face went pale. Her body trembled before she staggered backward and collapsed onto the couch.
Zane didnât bother looking twice. He stepped out.
In his previous life, he had been tricked into signing everything awayâhis inheritance, his assets⊠even the Dreamshade Ocean necklace.
But this time⊠they would pay.

FROZEN SOVEREIGN: THE ICEBOUND OVERLORD Â Â Â Hate at First Word
CHAPTER NINETY-EIGHTThe descent toward the western border ended abruptly where the world shattered into pure awe.Zane stopped in his tracks, his hand instinctively gripping the hilt of his un-enchanted iron broadsword.Ahead of them rose the Yggdras-Core. It was a gargantuan tree woven from glowing, translucent white bark that thumped with a pearlescent rhythm. Its colossal roots twisted through the open sky, clutching floating, fractured islands of pure white stone.Shining, liquid starlight cascaded down its branches like waterfalls, pooling into the empty space below.âLook at this place,â Trigger whispered, her eyes scanning the massive, winding trunk.âWe need to find the entrance to the inner chamber,â Zane said, his eyes also scanning the base where the roots converged. âThe manual has to be locked within the mid section or at the top of the tree.âBehind them, the war troops gathered. Travis adjusted his heavy war-hammer, while Marylyn, Evangeline, and Arthur stood close. Th

FROZEN SOVEREIGN: THE ICEBOUND OVERLORD Â Â Â No Forgiveness In Heaven
CHAPTER NINETY-SEVENZane didnât spend another second looking at Madelyn or Edgar. He turned on his heel, pulling at the collar of the heavy silk robe.âFather, get me out of this ridiculous thing. I need functional clothes and the heaviest, most reliable melee weapons you have in this estate. Now.âTravis didn't argue.âFollow me to the armory. Ashley, Arthur, Evangelineâcome with us. If weâre marching into a war zone, none of you are going empty-handed.âTrigger nodded as she flanked Zane. Arthur and Evangeline kept close to their daughter, their protective instincts flaring just as intensely as they had back on Earth. They had only just reunited with Ashley, and there was no force in Aethelgard that would make them let her out of their sight again. They had survived the end of the world to find each other; if a faction war stood between them and survival, they would tear through it together.âWife, inform other members of the family and faction. We're preparing to leave for the Ygg

FROZEN SOVEREIGN: THE ICEBOUND OVERLORD Â Â Â The Forbidden Weather Manipulation Manual
CHAPTER NINETY-SIXThe silence in the dining hall stretched until it became suffocating.Madelyn remained on her knees, her forehead pressed against the cold, pristine stone, her shoulders shaking with pathetic, ragged breaths.Zane looked down at her.His face didn't soften. His eyes showed absolutely no warmth. He didn't need to recall the hideous past; the reality of what they had become was written plainly across the floor.Beside Madelyn, Edgar stood frozen. His single, unseeing white eye stared blankly into space, while his good eye darted nervously between his kneeling mother and Zane, his posture hollowed out by the lingering trauma of his actions in the frost. He had killed his own mother and sent her to Aethelgard before she was ready. Even being manipulated by Marcus, it wasn't justified.Slowly, Zane took a step back, intentionally putting distance between himself and Madelynâs outstretched, trembling hands.âGet up,â Zane said. His voice was flat, devoid of any emotion wh

FROZEN SOVEREIGN: THE ICEBOUND OVERLORD Â Â Â A Plea For Forgiveness
CHAPTER NINETY-FIVE The revelation hung over the dining hall like a suffocating shroud. The vibrant, steaming feast suddenly looked like ash as Marylynâs face went entirely pale. Travisâs relaxed demeanor shattered, his crystal goblet clattering against the stone table as he leaned forward, his hands trembling. âHe... he broke time?â Marylynâs voice was barely a whisper. âMarcus did that? For me? That old fool is still acting obsessed?â â He isn't acting, he is obsessed! He went completely insane, Mother,â Zane said, his voice cutting through the panic. âBut we don't have time for his obsessions. If what you said about time is trueâif time stands still here while the outside world moves at a hyper-accelerated rateâthen every second we waste is weeks, maybe months, back home. Five years is the absolute limit before the entire timeline collapses and everyone left on Earth dies. We have to find a way to get the key to the apocalypse and leave. Now.â Before Travis or Marylyn could fo

Very Interesting and twisted. The plotline is truly not the regular apocalypse and slightly confusing in some parts but overall I love the story and I'm waiting for more chapters. Currently at chapter 63
