Chapter 2: Donating Blood.

Ethan was unsure how he had arrived at the hospital. Everything that had just happened in his mind was truly incredible. A device had somehow entered his head and operated a system within it.

However, the most crucial aspect is that this machine can transmit a vast amount of knowledge Ethan had never read before directly into his brain.

This device also possesses the unique functionality of analyzing the physical condition of others by scanning them multi-dimensionally. It can discern feelings and anguishing personality features by examining facial expressions and neural activity.

Simultaneously, it can predict situations and specific objects through its analyzed data. Right now, Ethan's gaze falls upon a young woman walking down the street. He can see her emotional state and physical condition in remarkable detail.

Tazanna Smith: 21 years old

Gender: Female

Emotional Index: 11 (negative)

Identifying features: A red mole under the left corner of her right eye, dark brown eyes, straight nose.

Bust: 96

Waist: 59

Hips: 96

Health Status: Suffers from a mysterious illness, poor health, mental exhaustion, and life expectancy of no more than one year.

Upon seeing this girl's stats, Ethan is momentarily taken aback. Tazanna also notices the strange man intently staring at her.

"What are you looking at? Do you want me to tear out your dog eyes and rub them under my feet?"

Ethan was just curious and didn't expect her sudden outburst. Momentarily flustered, he scratches his head and quickly walks away. Tazanna initially wanted to confront Ethan, but his swift departure left her fuming and muttering: "You better hope I never see you again, or I won't let you off so easily!"

Ethan hadn't anticipated that simply glancing at a passerby's stats would earn him a girl's grudge. He would have been even more surprised if he knew she was the daughter of Heyday Corporation's chairman, who was about to take over the shopping mall where he and his wife worked.

But before he could ponder further, the system's voice chimed in, seemingly understanding everything he didn't: "Apart from the standard statistics, I can also scan a target's future. However, to unlock this feature, you must complete a mission."

Ethan wanted to respond, but he had arrived at the hospital room and decided to set aside the Artificial Super Intelligence system.

At this moment, Ethan focused on his mother-in-law, who talked intimately with a young man outside the hospital corridor. Although he didn't know who the man was, his mother-in-law's friendly demeanor and attentive appearance made Ethan somewhat suspicious.

"Mom, I'm here!"

Ethan had just arrived when the conversation between Mabel and the young man ended. As soon as she saw Ethan appear, Mabel's attitude changed completely, her eyes glaring and her tone extremely harsh.

"Well, well, at last, you've finally arrived!? I thought you didn't care about this family at all. Your father-in-law had an accident and is waiting for surgery. Your wife, Melanie, also had an accident. And yet, the precious son-in-law of this family is more irresponsible than a stranger. What are you doing here now?"

Mabel's voice grew louder and louder. Ethan didn't dare to argue and could only lower his head and apologize.

"I'm sorry, Mom!"

"Sorry? What good is your sorry? Where's the hospital fee? Does sorry produce money? If you can't find the money, don't call me Mom or even bother seeing Melanie."

"Mom!!!"

Ethan didn't expect his mother-in-law to say such things. Usually, Mabel would scold him but not with such intensity. At this point, the young man standing next to Mabel suddenly spoke up.

"Aunt, please don't get angry and affect your health. I've already taken care of the hospital fees for Uncle. The doctor said that after the consultation, they'd proceed with the surgery for him. So, Aunt, you don't need to worry!"

Ethan initially should have paid more attention to this man. However, after hearing him speak intimately with his mother-in-law, he couldn't help but frown.

"Who is this...?"

Before Ethan could finish asking, a nurse from the hospital approached.

"Excuse me, is anyone here a relative of patient Bahjat Edwards?"

Hearing the nurse call her husband's name, Mabel hurriedly rushed over.

"It's me, and it's me! I'm wife of Bahjat Edwards!"

The nurse glanced at Mabel and then continued to shout.

"The hospital is currently short on blood. Which of Mr. Bahjat's relatives has the same blood type as him?"

At this moment, Mabel looked extremely worried. She then glanced at Ethan, whose face had turned pale.

"What are you standing there for? Don't you and he has the same blood type? Hurry up and follow the nurse to donate blood for your father-in-law!"

Hearing his mother-in-law's command, although Ethan felt unwell, he still followed the nurse.

"Nurse, I have the same blood type as Mr. Bahjat. I'll come with you!"

The nurse looked at Ethan for a moment and wanted to remind him of his health condition. However, Mabel urged her.

"Nurse, you don't need to worry about him. Normally, his health is excellent, much better than others. Besides, he doesn't have anything to do all day, just eat and sleep, so giving a little blood is nothing. My husband's life is more important!"

The nurse initially wanted to refuse, but the hospital was short on blood. Seeing the nurse hesitate, Ethan patted his chest and confidently said.

"Nurse, please rest assured, my health is genuinely excellent!"

The nurse had no other choice but to nod in agreement.

"Alright, please follow me!"

As soon as Ethan left, Mabel's attitude toward the young man beside her changed again, becoming extraordinarily attentive and caring: "Don't pay any attention to that useless guy! If it hadn't been for your sudden departure years ago, my daughter Melanie wouldn't have married such a worthless man!"

Hearing Mabel's words, the young man's face displayed a contemptuous smile, revealing a hint of cruelty in his eyes.

After having his blood drawn, Ethan felt somewhat unsteady on his feet. In truth, after the AI Super Intelligence invaded his body, Ethan seemed to be suffering from anemia. After giving blood to his father-in-law, Ethan felt weak, and his face turned pale. However, he had no intention of staying in the infirmary, he wanted to meet on his wife.

"Sir, your health doesn't seem to be in good shape. It's best if you rest here for a while, then drink some milk and sugar water to stabilize your body." the nurse advised Ethan after noticing his condition. Despite her warning, Ethan left, heading towards the surgery department with a lonely figure.

"Thanks to you, Toshan, my husband can have his surgery in time, unlike my useless son-in-law, who can't handle even the slightest task. If it weren't for you leaving suddenly to study abroad, leaving Melanie alone in the country, things wouldn't have turned out like this now..."

Mabel's voice echoed incessantly in Melanie's hospital room, expressing her dissatisfaction with her son-in-law. Lying in bed, Melanie felt uncomfortable hearing her mother bring up the past: "Mom, it's over. Please don't mention it again!"

"Don't you think I'm trying to do what's best for you? Even though you're married now, Toshan still cares for you and helps with your father's medical expenses. That's unlike that your useless husband, who can't even care for you properly. We don't know if he can provide enough blood for your father's surgery!"

Ethan entered, catching every word, but he didn't react. Instead, he silently continued inside.

Upon seeing Ethan, Mabel couldn't help but scoff, turning her gaze away as if looking at him any longer would infuriate her.
