The school bus drove back into Ironspire Academy just as the sun began its go down behind the rough cliffs surrounding the campus. The cheers from the interschool competition still echoed in Kai's ears, but now, the silence of return wrapped around them like a heavy curtain.

As the doors creaked open, Kai Draven, Xiren Wren, and Darius Vane stepped down. The familiar sand crunched beneath their boots. Awaiting them as they stepped down was none other than Councilor Locke. He was in his official robes and his expression was unusually warm.

“Well done,” Councilor Locke said, clapping his hands together with a rare and proud smile. “You’ve made Ironspire proud today. Our name will be remembered for generations.” His lips curled up.

Kai bowed slightly, while Xiren and Darius exchanged satisfied grins.

“I want you three to continue training,” Locke continued. “You’ve come far, but greatness never sleeps. Keep moving higher.” His eyes thinned.

“We will, sir,” Darius responded with a nod.

The night was still and the moon suspended high over Ironsphire Academy. It’s pale light illuminated the center courtyard where the lone tree stood. The very tree Kai had once been tied to, mocked and humiliated before the eyes of hundreds in the school. Now, it bore a different prisoner.Kai stood silently beneath it, his breathing steady and his fists relaxed. Tied high against the trunk was Lawson. He was unconscious and his limbs hanging limp with the rope binding him tightly. His body bore the humiliating inscriptions Kai had marked him with, "I am sorry I beat you up, Kai." "I am the oppressor.” "I am so sorry for my doings."Across his forehead in bold black ink was "Behold your hero." Kai stood there for a few moments breathing slowly. He stared at the symbol of justice he had just delivered, before going back into the dormitory through the dark.…….The next morning. The sun crept over the grounds of Ironsphire. Students began to walk out from their dormitories, walking la

  • Chapter 72: Reckoning  The Payback

The meal hall was frozen in stunned silence. The top ten elite students who were once feared, once untouchable were sprawled across the cold stone floor, groaning in pain after the tough beating that Kai Draven unlesshed on them. And yet… Kai wasn’t done. With a calm but deadly expression, he turned toward the gasping crowd, while his voice cut through the air like a blade."Just like you made me eat from the floor like a dog… now it’s your turn." His voice burned out aggressively.Every student in the meal hall stared with wide eyes. The elite students, still catching their breath from the brutal beatings, blinked up in disbelief.“You… you can’t be serious,” one of them muttered, trying to push himself up on shaky arms.Kai tilted his head slightly with his gaze narrowing. “Can’t take what you dish out?” he asked with his voice dripping with venomous calm. “How interesting.” He sneered. Lawson, bruised and wheezing, dragged his body halfway upright and coughed. “We’re not doing th

  • Chapter 71: Reckoning Begins

"I was broken by the top ten elites. Made to suffer and was tormented. It is my time. One by one they will feel my fury," Kai echoed within himself, each word pulsing with resolve and fury. His eyes snapped open with a bright gleam as he was being carried on a stretcher toward the school’s clinic. Blood no longer stained his body. His skin bore no bruises. His muscles, which had moments ago been lifeless, twitched with regained strength.“Stop,” he commanded with a loud voice. The enforcers carrying him froze mid-step. They were stunned by the sudden power in his voice. Councilor Locke turned from behind them and his eyes wide.“Kai?” he echoed within. Kai sat up straight, swinging his legs down. He stood on his own with no help. Gasps echoed across the courtyard as dozens of students watched. His flesh once broken was now unscathed. His body gleamed with power. The injuries that had crippled him just hours ago had disappeared like a passing dream. It was as if it never happened.

  • Chapter 70: Bound by Humiliation

“How long will I endure this humiliation?” Kai muttered through clenched teeth, his voice was low and raw. He could still taste the filth from the meal hall floor. The memory burned through his mind like acid. His fists trembled at his sides, and blood crusted at the corners of his lips.He remembered the laughter, the cruel stares and his own knees bruised against stone. Rage simmered beneath the surface, his nostrils simmered.“I’ll make sure to pay them back,” he growled. “Heavier than they ever think.” His hand tightened against his cloth. He walked through the corridor slowly and his body still aching from the beating. The air was tense, every student he passed gave him a wide berth. Some looked at him with pity, others with indifference. No one dared to speak. Then…BAM!A sharp slap cracked against the back of his head.Kai stumbled forward, staggering toward the wall. Before he could gather himself, a strong kick swept his feet off the ground.THUD!His body crashed against th

  • Chapter 69: Humiliation Level 50%

The bell rang across Ironspire Academy, indicating it was meal time. The smell of roasted grain and spiced vegetables wafted across the grounds. It lured students to the massive meal hall.Kai walked in with steady steps, his uniform clean and his face calm but unreadable. He moved straight to his usual table near the center. It was a corner where Xiren Wren and Darius Vane were already seated. Both friends nodded in greeting, but concern lingered in their eyes.Kai sat quietly, picking up his tray of food and ready to have a bite. But just as he took the first bite… BANG!The tray was slapped out of his hands with a loud crash. The contents scattered all over the cemented floor. Vegetables, sauce, and bread smudged across the ground like a cruel joke. Kai smirked and lifted his eyes. Standing above him were the Top Ten Elite Students. They were all in their black-stitched elite robes. Lawson, the smug brute from yesterday, stood at the front, flanked by Serah, Corven, and others. T

Luxuries only the elite could afford.Once they were seated, Talor stood before them. “There is a matter that requires your attention,” he began slowly. “A boy has risen. A mere student called Kai Draven. He didn’t only kill Mordax Rex, but also brought down Councilor Vane. And now, he’s claimed the highest student position in this school. He’s feared and untouchable.”The elites murmured in disbelief.“Who is this boy?” one of them asked coldly.Talor’s eyes darkened. “Kai Draven.”Silence fell among them. Then, one of them leaned forward, cracking his knuckles. “Then it’s time we teach this Kai a lesson. A very painful one.” He intoned. Another smirked. “Let’s make him wish he never picked up a sword.”Talor’s lips curled in satisfaction. “That’s what I wanted to hear.”………..The morning bell rang loud and shar
