Chapter 3
““You can call me System. And you will soon get to understand that I am here to help you, you just have to trust me.”” The system as it had identified itself said to Mave again.
‘hmm. Anything I should know for now?. I have a lot of questions to ask you.’
“”Do not worry Hero Maverick , in time All your questions will be answered but for now, do not take off that ring on your finger for any reason. We do not have time for now, the world merge will be beginning soon, and you need to be ready.”” The system said, and immediately Maverick looked at his finger and the ring on the finger as he got the instruction. But it seems that with each word the system said, he was left with more questions to ask..
‘what do you mean by World merge?’ Mave asked the system, it was the first time he was hearing of it and he was interested to know what it meant.
“”it is the union of your world and that of the monsters, it starts today with the appearance of the red fog as you already know. So now I want you to prepare yourself, go to the Top of the highest building you can find and wait there, the fog will be coming soon””
‘huh, then I need to find Talia and Jiren immediately’ Maverick said.
“”No, there’s no time. We will find them after everything.””
‘but they are my friends and my girlfriend is cheating on my with my best friend, you expect me to just let it be…?’
“”Think Mave, she was your girl friend ten years from now in your past life, not now. What ever happened between you all will not happen now. As far as we all know, you have not started dating yet””
Mave thought of what the system had said and it had some truth, whatever had happened in his part life had not happened year, it was still ten years too early. He should focus on the present for now that what is yet to come.
‘so what do I do now?’ he asked.
“”find the highest building and wait at the top””
‘Highest building, got it’s Mave left where he was and looked around for the highest building he could find. The highest was a company building next to their school and he immediately dashed towards it. Knowing he’d never be allowed outside the school premises before it was closing time. He went through the back, where there was a hidden entrance that led outside.
Maverick managed to get outside the school and as well to the top of the highest building within the vicinity and he did so he just wondered why he had to trust a voice in his head rather than do things by himself like he formerly did.
‘I’ll just have to trust it for now, learn what it is and decide if it here to help me or not. I want things to go differently than they did last time.’
‘I’m here so what do I do now?’ he said to the system..
“”we wait”” the system replied and Maverick nodded and then looked around.
He knew that last time the red fog had appeared today, but he wasn’t certain anymore of the time that it happened, but somehow it seemed like this system was aware of the time it will take place, so he listened to it and waited patiently.
Mave waited for a few minutes and nothing happened, he then sat down and decided to rest for a bit. A few more minutes later then the system spoke to him again
“” The world merge will begin in 10, 9,8…””
Maverick jumped on his feet and prepared himself as the system gave the count down. He did not exactly know what he was supposed to do, but he just prepared himself and hoped things turned out better than before.

Immediately the count down got to zero, the sky roared as lightning struck heavily which almost made Mave tremble in fear, since it looked like he was just so close to the lightning.
When he looked up at the sky, he saw clouds of the red fog beginning to form.
This may be his second time witnessing it but it was still so terrifying as it was the first time he saw it. The earth turned red, since the red fog literally blocked the sun.
People began coming out of their houses, cars and where ever they were so that they could observe the strange phenomenon that is going on.
“”Mave, now raise your hand bearing the the sky”” the system instructed and Mave obeyed, he lifted up his right hand to the sky and immediately the ring began to glow a bright red. As it glowed Mave witnessed that the red fog around the vicinity gathered around the ring and the ring began absorbing the red fog .
Maverick was surprised as to what was happening, as the ring continued to absorb the red fog, Mave’s hand began feeling heavy, like the ring was now getting too heavy to carry.
‘umm, system what is happening?’’ Mave asked.
“”Don’t worry, I’ll explain later. Focus on holding your hand up and letting the ring absorb as much of the red fog as possible before it dissipates. Mave just nodded and continued to hold his hand up, for the ring to absorb the red fog.
Several minutes later and the red fog dissipated, disappearing from the skies and the atmosphere returned to normal again. Mave fell down and panted trying to catch his breath again, the ring had returned back to normal, becoming as light as it formerly was.
Everyone on the street was now going back to what they were doing prior, still wondering what just had just happened.

Chapter 5“ it’s time, Get up.” The voice of the system rang in Mave’s head and he immediately jolted awake again.He looker around as he forced his eyes open and realized that he had fallen asleep. He gritted his teeth in annoyance, for he felt that he shouldn’t have fallen asleep but should have been awake doing better things. He heard screams and people crying and riotous commotion and he knew immediately that it had begun. The first wave of the awakening, when low level monsters appeared out of nowhere and began mauling people down.He stood up and looked down from the ledge of the rooftop he was on and saw people being chased by grotesque looking creatures that looked like animals, some four legged and some two legged, others crawled like snakes and millipedes on the ground. He also so a few dead bodies sprawled on the ground. Some missing limbs and appendages and he sighed, knowing that it was from this point the world needed the awakened heroes at first, but none had awaken

Chapter 6Soon enough he arrived at the kitchen, and he was breathing heavily since he had been running. He did not want to be late and lose his friends, so he had to hurry. He stopped at the door of the cafeteria and he could hear some noises and could immediately tell that there were some monsters inside. ‘I can’t go in unarmed’ he thought and began looking around for a weapon or anything he could arm himself with. He finally came to a stop at a park, the Ava district park.““The portal should be somewhere here”” He heard the voice of the system in his head and he looked around frantically, hoping to find it just as the system had said. He was breathing heavily and was sweating, beads of sweat were dropping from his face, chest and back. It was very noticeable because he was Shirtless and wearing just a joggers, no footwear even.“Found it” he said, as his eyes settled on a shimmering slit like white light. It was about 10ft high and as wide as a door entrance.
